Audition ''You will prove to the people that there is a savior amongst them. Who grew as they did. Who was raised as they were. You will teach them that a man can truly aspire to great heights."
A reaching palm was planted against the surface of the wall, the long fingers of the man able to detect the frigid and nigh-imperishable composition. Those spoken words of his father, his biological father, ran deep, it answered the question that plagued his conscious- proved that his conscience towards righteous acts were what he was fated to do. As his fingers would drift down the crystalline structure of the wall, his mind recalled every major event of his life which led to this exact moment: discovering that he could run faster than any other man or woman, that he could hear and see and smell at a level which none other can match; relating to, also, the ability to see through solid and biological structures, and that he could soar the skies as high and as fast as a jet in speed.
"You have a gift, Clark. It will be up to you whether or not you use this gift to make the world a better place. It will not be an easy task. People will fear you. You will change the beliefs of man and how the world sees itself. "
He also knew who he was who he had been this entire time. Clark Kent. Kal-El. Born of Krypton and raised of Earth; yet, it was time to show the world a new concept. An ideal of hope and peace. A belief. "Thank you, father. I understand everything now," the deeply-toned voice of the man ejected forth as he turned in a backwards step to stray from the idle stare at the wall to a fixed his coral-bleu visions upon the projected conscious of his biological father, who appeared as if he was literally before him. It was the work of Kryptonian technology, an advanced spectacle that allowed Jor-El to converse with his son posthumously through inserted conscious. In his newfound strive towards becoming a symbol of peace yet faced the scrutiny and alienation by the media and government, Clark, or Kal-El, was almost summoned spiritually to arrive to a location long positioned in the depths of Antarctica. It was a feeling unexplained if one could have asked him, to follow the notion which compelled Kal to come to this exact position. One would both describe and question the structure he entered as a ''fortress made of ice in the form of perfect crystals. Slabs of overlapping and cascading crystals that happened to outline a unique habitation. A true marvel of nature, or artificial?"
"While this is our first time speaking, it is also perhaps our last time. I want to let you know that I am proud of you. Of the man that you have become. Of the man that you will become. There will be those who will stand against you in the name of evil and injustice, but always remember who you are..Kal."
A cool breeze billowed from the entrance of the iced structure as the soles of burgundy boots sauntered along the ground of solid ice and snow, the weight of the man who wore them pressing downwards, each step taken with purpose. His posture was acute; Kal stepped forth from the fortress with a look of strong will and determination deeply pitted into those blue visions of his. Instead of the casual cargo pants with a commonplace white shirt he wore prior to stepping into the fortress, he emerged from it attired in a full-bodied apparel: a steel-blue fitting which permitted the detail of every muscle of his being to bulge in pride, giving que to his muscular figure, trimmed with Kryptonian decor upon the wrist and from the sides of his torso down to the mid of his knees; the aforementioned pairing of burgundy boots that would perfectly complement his travels of high speed and fine resistance against friction; the insignia of hope embedded at the centre of his chest, bearing a similar look to the letter "S" bolded in red and backgrounded by a goldenrod colour; and finally, the long and lush cape which majestically billowed with the current of the flowing wind- just as indestructible as his own skin if not more, and measured down to the hind of his ankles.
Without any words, he levitated to the sky. His body appearing almost weight-less as he lifted into thin air. His arms reached outwards and towards the sky as his gaze was fixed towards the Sun. Suddenly, his form burst into high speeds. The cloak flicked along Kal's backside in such a fast-paced traverse through the atmospheric barriers of Earth until he was outer space, where the radiation of the Sun itself was better felt. In all honesty, this was his 'fortress of solitude'. His lids closed as he took in a deep inhale. The only true location, as both Clark and Kel, he could tune mentally into a channel where his senses could pick up the most delicate alterations were detected. Suddenly, the scream of a woman sounded through his ears. The lids of his eyes opened. It was time.

Relatively it is well put together. Character Time Line Year 1 (2009) - -Reports of a man capable of flying began to surface.

This is a personal concern coming from a "Batman" point of view...Batman and Superman are (relatively) the same age. I think it would make more sense if he had more experience under his belt, is there any reason why you're going with 3 years instead of a full 5 year run? Batman and Superman should have the most experience out of everyone in the Justice League. Audition ''You will prove to the people that there is a savior amongst them. Who grew as they did. Who was raised as they were.
Well written post and it shows that you listened to my advice about "bring your A-Game" rather than something of poor quality. So, I'll be the first to thank you for applying and thank you for taking it seriously. My feedback about your post is that it doesn't show any personality to Superman and somewhat touches an issue I had with the Man of Steel (Not sure if you've seen it. SPOILER for anyone who hasn't.) A key problem I had with the movie was that Jonathan Kent didn't teach Clark about "doing the right thing" or any of the morals Superman is known to have in this day. Rather Jonathan Kent pushed Clark to "run away" and "Don't help people," which is basically cowardice. Why this is relevant - here Superman is inspired by his father to become Superman rather than searching to discover more knowledge about his people, uncovering the mystery of who they were and what it was like to live among them. I'm not saying this direction or the movie are wrong, but what I'm saying is that I believe, it doesn't show Clark's personality as we know it to be, it just doesn't seem like the responsibility is there. A strange man that Superman doesn't even know is telling him all about his greatness but, the man who he grew up with for 20+ years tells him to hide behind his "gift." My other questions are... How long have you been Roleplaying as Superman? Have you ever played another Comic Book character (If so, List 5 or so)

I agree with Bruce, 0 personality in the post, you show more personality from the voice of Jor El than in the character of Superman. It works great as an introduction post but for an audition post it doesn't work. So a little questionnaire if you will be so kind as to answer them. There is no wrong answers, just easing my own curiosity. 1. Which version of Superman are you, it appears you are leaning more towards Man of Steel. 2. The post reads as Jor El being your mentor, instead of Johnathan Kent why? 3. Power set, Comics, cartoons, Movie? 4. Weakness set.. Again comics cartoons movie? How much does Kryptonite effect you? Do you lose your power when entering a planet with a red sun immediately or have to burn your reserves off? 5. Do you know how Superman's Invulnerability works? Explain how your version of Superman's durability works..

Response:. - Your concern in this is highly understandable and it gives me more insight on exactly -when- I should play Superman, time wise. The reason as to why I went with three years, and a younger Clark Kent in general, is because I found it an interest to explore his younger adult years and build up from there; however, it's just as easier to match up to Batman's age with experience. -- "Well written post and it shows that you listened to my advice about "bring your A-Game" rather than something of poor quality. How long have you been Roleplaying as Superman? Have you ever played another Comic Book character (If so, List 5 or so) Response: In complete honesty, perhaps my sole weaknesses as a role-player is the personality factor. I've been in the role-playing game for about 4 years now, and have been mainly using an original character for general role-playing means. Aside from that, it has been a considerable amount of time since I had last role-played in general. With that being said, I would like to spring off a new lease with the Superman character while shaking off some rust. I have seen Man of Steel. My plans with Clark Kent/Superman are/were to write a bit of history leading up to that point which involves Clark making attempts at being this hero while also being shunned and alienated because of his capabilities. To answer your questions, this would be my first time playing as Superman. Besides him, I have dabbled a little as The Joker and Ra's al Ghul.

Response: 1. I'm looking towards a blending of the Man of Steel Superman and the New 52 version. I'm currently reading up on the comics actually, to the more I can connect with the personality of Superman from the comics, the more I can take the personality into myself to effectively and perfectly play him as we all know and love. 2. With how I intended it to be, and it may not have been detected as easily, the first quote is spoken by Jor, the second by Johnathan and the third by Jor. I planned to explore Clarks relationship with Johnathan in a prequeled format that would be told/written on the Superman profile provided I get the role. A sort of exploration to be done before and after the events of that post. 3. Power set: Super strength, speed, reflexes, senses and durability. Flight. Visual lasers. X-ray vision. Iced breath. 4. Kryptonite will greatly effect Superman to the point where his powers are reduced by pretty much 95% and he succumbs to great fatigue. He becomes very faint in the presence of kryptonite. On a red-sun exposed planet, he is basically reduced to a human-like physical status without any of the harmful effects of kryptonite. Another reasonable weakness would have to be magic.. But his greatest weakness is his soft spot and kind-heart for humankind (Which with shaken rust, I'll be able to truly personify his compassion and care for the human race). 5. I know how Superman's invulnerability works. In terms of his durability, it would be reasonable to say that while he can not be harmed by anything madeof conventional human means,he could get knocked off his feet with immense forces and perhaps anything made by a foe that's specifically created to harm him- as long as it falls under reason. When coming across another individual of great stength, he is able to feel pain when it comes to an attack, but is pronged to cellular repair if the situation allows.

Let me give you clarity and peace of mind regarding your past. There is *nothing* stopping you from RPing the past or future within this RP. dcdarkestnight.proboards.com/board/10/story-directory^ That link there displays my Batman's Timeline (Slightly off-set of the Justice League) My roleplayers bounce between Timelines based on where and when they want characters to interact and RP out a scene. If your Superman and your "family" you will be afforded the opportunity to go back into the past and hang out with Lana Lang in highschool. You will also be able to go into the future and work with Terry McGinnis. It all depends on where you and your various partners want to do.

The Power set did not answer my question. There is a great Difference between the Cartoons, Comics and movies as far as Superman's powers are concerned, I am a bit concerned with the combination of New 52 and Man of Steel.
Any universe Kryptonite is painful because it forces the solar radiation out of his cells.
As far as personality being a weakness of your's. I suggest reading Superman/ Batman comics instead of New 52.

Aye. I didn't completely understand the question relating to powers probably because of the way it is formatted or the way I read it. However, the idea of his powers mainly derive from the animated universe when broken down.
I would not mind reading up on the Superman/Batman comics to truly capture his personality. Whichever way my peers find most suitable, I will follow to make others as comfortable with my Superman as possible.

As far as personality being a weakness of your's. I suggest reading Superman/ Batman comics instead of New 52. When Slade was first becoming the main writer for the Justice League, he recommended Superman / Batman comics to read, over the past year I've read them and it was something I enjoyed a lot, all of them are really good. They're full of interesting combinations of characters and truly display Bruce and Clark's personalities better than any other comic series I've read.

Looks like a good start.
Your experience in rp shows and you have some nicely written descriptions. Good attention to detail and emotion. I would like to see some examples of action and social/dialogue.
I think you have a good balance of powers and weaknesses. Always fun to see a hero work through them.
I do wonder about your Superman's social side. Does he keep to himself, or is he very engaged with others? What does he think about the League and it's members in general? What are his opinions on Batman and Wonder Woman? What about Lois Lane?
