Basic Information
Player Nickname: Musashi
Do you want other role players to give you feed back? Yes
Face Claim's Name: Hiroyuki Sanada
Name: Miyamoto Musashi
Alias: None. Public Identity
Race: Immortal. Formerly Human.
Age: 487. Mid-40's Physically.
Birthday: 1584
Alignment: Neutral Good
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 185 Ibs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Physique: Musashi stands a tall and intimidating figure, frequently regarded as attractive by most due to his grizzled, wizened appearance. He has long hair that hangs to his shoulders that he typically keeps in a pony tail, and has a rough beard that he typically neglects to shave. His body holds many scars that have healed over, and he holds a strong, toned musculature honed by centuries of training and battle.
Training: Miyamoto Musashi is frequently regarded as the world's greatest swordsman and is trained in the art of Bushido, giving him a structured, ordered mind that prides honor and strategy. His skill with a blade is legendary, and it is said that he holds the power to cut through steel and yet swing his blade at paper and refuse to cut it. He is also trained in a variety of martial arts, not afraid to use a skillful Judo move to incapacitate his opponents or take them on with a jaw-breaking right hook.
Equipment: Miyamoto Musashi is clad in a set of cybernetic armor modeled after ancient Japanese samurai armor, complete with a helmet designed to look like a traditional Oni. His katana, a weapon utilizing a high-frequency to allow it to pass through atoms and slice through almost any form of matter like a knife through hot butter, possesses a blade that is a dark, blood-red and is labeled "Muramasa." He also possesses a wakinazi with the same color of blade, but this one remains unnamed.
Excellent work here and worthy of recognition with Physique, Training, and Equipment.
Powers / Abilities
Swordsmanship - Miyamoto Musashi is possibly one of the universe's greatest swordsman, and has even been able to stop bullets with his sword, although the feat invites further danger and his armor can stop them anyhow. Few are skilled enough to pose a challenge to Musashi, but those who do, namely Deathstroke, Batman, Merlyn, and Ra's al Ghul, can prove to lead to very climatic battles.
Expert Tactician - Miyamoto was hailed as a very intelligent strategist, and it was this skill that allowed him to become so successful in duels.
Intimidation - Miyamoto believed that intimidation played a key in victory, and that if you could make your opponent flinch before you even attack, then you had already won.
Martial Arts Master - Miyamoto is skilled in various martial arts and can hold his own against multiple Assassin's without cause for worry.
Immortality - Miyamoto was blessed by the nature spirits of Japan to be immortal, and never die of old age or disease. He can be brought to his knees by wounds in battle, but he will never truly die so long as he is brought to a source of fresh water, where his body will rejuvenate.
Linkage to The Green - Miyamoto's blessing means that he is invariably linked to The Green, and can sense it's presence along with that of Swamp Thing. This also means that he too shall be a target of The Rot, but few of it's agents have proven successful in defeating him.
Might I suggest, if he is not completely linked to the Green, perhaps he is more of Floronic Man's past status as distant to the Green but, still somehow connected. (Later becoming connected after experimenting with Swamp Thing.)
Character Time Line
(Adjust the years as necessary, the current Justice League RP takes place in 2012)
You may have LESS than 5 years. IE: Only a Year 1, but you can have no more than 5 Years.
A Brave New World(1600)
-A War breaks out across all of Japan, and Miyamoto Musashi is the only one with the skill to stop this war that threatens to tear all of Nippon apart. However, he is not alone, as a ninja clad in black and styling himself after a bat, a samurai with the powers of a god, and the first ever female samurai aid him in taking down the evil warlord clad in a helm stylized after the brain of a man.
- Miyamoto and his allies win the war, but it comes as a price. Musashi faces death for the first time, but there is a chance in the springs of the mountains, where strange things are rumored to live and The Gods supposedly bathe. Will Miyamoto gain the powers of a god and become the Guardian of Japan, or will he fall to the horrors that lie underneath the soil?
Whatever Happened at Iwo Jima, Anyway? (1942)
-Miyamoto Musashi finally emerges out of hiding during World War II, a month after the attack of Pearl Harbor, as he emigrates from Japan and joins the newly formed JSA in order to fight back against the tyranny of his own country's government, desiring honor to be returned to his homeland. However, during a special-ops trip to Japan with Doctor Fate, Miyamoto discovers a shame of his homeland's government even worse than their slaughtering, and what truly lays underneath Iwo Jima comes to light. A secret that threatens to consume all of Earth underneath it's dark shadow...
Big Thunder in Little Tokyo (2012)
- Miyamoto joins the newly formed Justice League as the heading member of the Asian-Metahuman Division, representing himself as the Defender of Japan. However, he is approached by Doctor Fate for a offer to join as a member of Justice League Dark due to a disturbance in the oldest Shinto site in all of Japan, where it is said the Gods threaten to come back to Earth again....and this time, they're keeping it.
Cherry Blossoms (2013)
-Now fully inducted into DC Dark, Miyamoto serves as the head adviser on mystical weapons and Asian mythology. However, Miyamoto finally comes to an understanding about his immortality after a enlightening experience with Swamp Thing whilst he descends into the plane of The Green and realizes that yes....there are trees he cannot cut.
Year 5 (2015)
-Not yet thought of yet.
The timeline has been changed and this will have to be adjusted at some point.
With that said, interesting ideas and concepts, but note worthy that DC Dark, I don't believe, is an assembly like the Justice League or Justice Society, rather an uncoordinated group of people teaming up when necessary.
DC Dark also encompasses all that is mystical, including villains. Doctor Fate would be more likely to recommend Miyamoto to a person or group of people to which Miyamoto would compliment. (IE, a Etrigan who has no understanding of Honor and Miyamoto who may not have an understanding of chaos.)
Audition post
The grizzled samurai stood for a long while, simply staring at the sword that set before him, his reflection nonexistent in the bloody pools of the metal that made it's blade. Is this what swordsmanship really was, nowadays? Was there really any effort anymore, when one could just cut anything, regardless of spirit? Perhaps. Perhaps it didn't really matter, he himself had once said that cutting your enemy was the most important thing....but it felt wrong somehow. And at other times, it felt more like a problem to mull over with a gourd of sake. Miyamoto wasn't sure which of those times it was today, as he hefted the sword by it's militarized grip and lifted it from it's stand, testing it's weight and gently running a finger over the insignia on the hilt. Muramasa. The Demon Blade. A ominous name, for certain, and arrogant as only a gift from Waynetech could be. The Samurai gripped the hilt, not too tightly, not too softly, and swung....and a moment later, the stand it was resting on fell in a neat little pile. The Samurai couldn't help but grin as he sheathed his blade, the helm of his armor sliding over his face with a click on his belt as the visor glowed red and showed the currents of electricity, warmth, and other such nonsense in the room. Perhaps technology did take away the spirit of battle. But sometimes, it replaced that with fun instead.
Audition Post Guidelines -
[X] Minimum of 2 paragraphs
[Check] NO MORE than 8 paragraphs
[Check] Personality presented
[Optional] Combat Style (If a combat situation is presented.)
[Check] Articulation and descriptive ability (We don't want 3 paragraphs describing the flowing motion of a cape.)
My feedback thus far is 1 paragraph isn't enough to share the information and depth of the character.
