Place of Operation: Gotham City
Birthday: Unknown
Alignment: Lawful Good
Height: 5'10
Weight: 160 lbs

Physique: As Kate she represents as a rather curvy, but fit woman. Her Batwoman suit combines a hard polymer shell as well as wearing a restrictive wrap around her chest to limit her endowments thus making the sillouette of Batwoman different from that of Kate Kane.
Training: She possesses no metahuman abilities, however she is extremely proficient in both armed and unarmed combat as a result of her West Point education and BEAST basic training coupled with two years of undocumented special operative training with members of the British Special Air Service, U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.S. and other military contacts. She is extremely physically fit and was senior elite in gymnastics at West Point. Her military training and lifestyle has instilled a deep sense of discipline and leadership that is reflective in her actions as Batwoman.
As a result of her militaristic lifestyle and upbringing, Kate has an extremely high tolerance for pain. She has been repeatedly stabbed and continued to fight off attackers. When she was abducted by followers of the Crime Bible and stabbed in the heart, she went so far as to pull out the blade and incapacitate her attackers.
Batwoman has shown detailed knowledge of human anatomy in her dealings with criminals. She is familiar with the human bodies pressure points and anatomical weak spots. On top of dressing her own wounds, Kate has displayed basic medical care to those around her. She has even shown extensive knowledge of cellular biology and organic chemistry, once citing that if both she and the villain Alice were indeed twin sisters then their blood cells would be monozygotic. Kate has also shown extensive chemical knowledge, specifically the nature of Cyanogen Chloride and its breakdown into Cyanide when introduced into the bloodstream.
Equipment: Due to her father's position within the military, Kate has access to an extensive arsenal of both lethal and non-lethal weapons. Most frequently used are her own stylized collapsible batarangs, frequently used to incapacitate opponents. She also carries a grapple gun for quick ascents and a gas gun for ranged attacks. Her utility belt also conceals tear gas grenades, lock picks, a gas mask, thermite grenades, collapsible batons, and a smart phone capable of long range communication, data storage, and computer hacking.
Her costume is treated with a liquid shear thickening compound making it both stab resistant and small arms bullet proof while retaining flexibility. The cape is a carbon nanotube composite, making it proportionally stronger than steel. It is also weighted at the ends for both defensive and offensive purposes. Her cowl protects from blunt force trauma and is lined with a red wig which further conceals Kate's identity while serving as misdirection to her opponents. The entire suit feeds into the bio-monitors, GPS tracker, and radio receiver in her torso which relays real time encrypted information back to Colonel Kane in Kate's apartment.
Kate frequently uses her high speed Bat-cycle (a heavily customized Ducati Monster) for transport.
Description
Appearance:
As Kate: - Kane has a navy style star tattoo on her back she got after being forced out of West Point due to the "Don't ask/Don't tell" policy of the US Military. Her hair is naturally red, and her skin naturally pale, though a sleep schedule that normally sees her operating on a nocturnal sleep cycle (sleeping during the day, up at night) does not help. She has a curvy figure, broad hips and a well endowed chest, which she has flaunted and hidden in public, depending on how she feels. She usually wears black capris and a white, sleeveless blouse.
As Batwoman: - She wears a binding band to take her chest size down. In addition to her equipment, she also wears a long, red wig. Batman once commented on that the loose, flowing red hair would be a risk, that it might be a liability. To demonstrate his point, he grabbed her hair, pulling it backwards, to find that it was merely a wig and detached from the rear of her cowl.
Personality: She tends to be standoffish and cold as Batwoman, mostly due to the trauma caused by the injuries sustained by Flame Bird, her cousin and one time partner. She blames herself for the severe injuries that Bette Kane sustained during a fight with the Hook. There is also the unknown falling out that happened between Kane and Barbara Gordon, likely caused by Kate's all or nothing personality. She is, however, fiercely protective, even of Gordon, sometimes commenting how many times does a woman need to be beaten down before she learns fighting is not her thing. Kane will not raise a hand against any member of the Bat family, with the one exception of Gordon, but only if the other woman tried to start something.
Her Kate Kane personality is far more out going, Batman even commenting that he wished he could be more like her, that he could "turn off" the mask as he watched her engage in reckless sexual encounter after reckless sexual encounter. She is out of the closet to her family, her step mother sometimes thinking she takes it too far, but her father encourages her to remain true to herself.
Significant Relationships
Bette Kane/Flame Bird - (Cousin/One Time Side Kick/Pain in the Ass) Bette is Kate's cousin on her father's side, and on occassion has doubled as her side kick, though Kate prefers to work alone. On one occasion Bette was severely injured as a result of her connection to Kate and she still hasn't been able to get over her guilt from that. As a result of this guilt, Kane has become less inclined to accept others as "side kicks" and support roles. She feels that the reason Bette was hurt was because of her, and she refuses to accept that for anyone else. According to Kate's father, Bette looks up to her and enjoys spending time with her.
Colonel Kane - (Father) - Colonel Kane is Kate's father. A career military man, Colonel Kane becomes Kate's confidant when she becomes Batwoman, a role somewhere between where Bruce Wayne to Terry McGinnis in the future and Alfred to Bruce in the present. Kate gets her strong personality from her father, as she was always Daddy's Girl. When she was dismissed from West Point for her sexuality, her father admitted he was proud that she refused to submit and lie in order to conform, that she was honourable and honest about who she was. They still celebtrate Chaunikah together every year.
Elizabeth Kane - (Sister/Antagonist) - Her twin sister, thought to have perished during the same hostage situation that claimed the life of their mother. It turned out that Elizabeth was not dead, but she was incredibly damaged. Liz returns as Alice, believing herself to be Alice Pleasance Liddell of Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland, taking the title of the High Priestess in the Religion of Crime. It is not until the end of the arch that it is revealed that she is actually Kane's twin.
Renee Montoya - (Lover/Love Interest/Police Department Contact (NPC)) - The relationship between Renee and Kate is strained. The two love each other, and engage in regular sexual encounters, but Renee was raised a strict Catholic, the unmarried daughter of immigrant parents. As such, coming out of the closet means a much greater risk to Montoya than it did to Kane. It is unlikely that Montoya's father would react with the same pride that Kane's did upon learning of his daughter's homosexuality. Renee often comes to Kate with cases that the GCPD are having problems solving by more legitimate means, and often acts like Kate's contact, the way Jim Gordon assists Batman.
Bruce Wayne/Batman - (Role Model) - On a dark street, a man tried to mug a woman in the night; too bad that woman was a former Marine who stopped short of murdering the would be purse snatcher. In the shadows, a man watched; Kane would recognize the dark figure hiding just out of sight. Batman had watched the entire thing, ready to intervene should she require his assistance, but allowing her to take care of things on her own. From that moment on, Kane was impressed by Batman's resolve and his respect. Kate took up the cowl of Batwoman when Batman was absent and there was a subsiquent battle for the cowl between his proteges. Kane was furious with the inpotence in their petty in fighting, thinking that a clear line of succession from Batman to Nightwing should have been obvious.
Richard Grayson/Nightwing - (One Time Beard) - "You're a very pretty young man." While Kane had no interest in Grayson, she was not above using him to disguise her relationship with Detective Renee Montoya. This was not because Kate was afraid of coming out of the closet, but rather Montoya, of immigrant parents raised strict Catholic and a member of the highly prejudiced GCPD, couldn't handle the risk.
Barbara Gordon/Batgirl I/Oracle - Worked with Oracle during an adventure with Birds of Prey, however, she never worked with Batgirl, despite popular opinion and many news stories equating them to the female version of the dynamic duo. Inspired by entirely different events, the two share only a similar name and red hair.
Dinah Lance/Black Canary II - Worked with Dinah during an adventure trying to solve a human smuggling gang. She also worked with Huntress and Spoiler. She finds Dinah enjoyable company, but doesn't quiet get the sunny disposition.
Helena Wayne/Huntress - Worked with Helena during the adventure with the Birds of Prey and find's Wayne's spirit indomitable. If pressed, Kate would work with Wayne again. The abs weren't bad either.
Stephanie Brown/Spoiler/Robin IV/Batgirl III - Kane sees a lot of her cousin, Bette, in Steph, and often during the event with Birds of Prey. Stephanie was used as bait, and while many thought she was incapable of being a successful agent, her youth and inexperience being key complaints, but Kate had faith. Kane may be more than a little protective of Stephanie than she is of Dinah or Helena, though not as protective as she is of Bette.

Gotham City, 0030h, Monday July 15, 2013 –
Renee had a sick sense of humour; Kane had settled on this a long time ago, but now it as becoming even more evident. The files contained enough details for her to get a little extra information, but not enough. Not even close to enough. She had suited up, her uniform she had called it. Kane sighed, pulling out the red wig from the back of the cowl, letting the locks lay around her shoulders.
“What is this, Kate?” her dad had asked her when he had found out what she was really up to.
“It’s my way of helping.”
“You’re a vigilante now? Another one of those masked freaks?” His words had cut her, deeply, deeper than she had ever let on.
“I’m a god damn soldier, Dad!” she had fought back. “You have your uniform. This is mine!” and since that day, that is exactly how she had viewed it.
It was a mission, an operation, and to be treated with the same respect, dedication and care that would have been expected of her in the Marines. She took the files, sliding them into a black bag and placing that in a compartment on the back of her suit so as to keep both of her hands free.
The Monster lit up like a dream and she jealously eyed the Supermotard next to it. Her day bike was so much more fun to drive, but this wasn’t about fun. This was a mission, and she had no choice as to whether she would accept it. Renee had made it clear that she had already exhausted the extent to which she could pursue the cases, and to her lover’s notes she had already added what she could gather, but there was someone in Gotham who surpassed even Kate’s formidable forensic hacking skills, and while she was loathed to make contact with her former friend, there was more to this case than her own pride. When it came to children, Kane would always have a hard time not being able to save them.
She had failed to save Liz, twice; she couldn’t live with the souls of more children haunting her dreams. Her Batcycle charged from the underground garage, through a special passageway that first led into the sewers then the drainage canals before exiting on to the streets. Kate knew how to get in touch with her friend, through one of the woman’s new friends, but how to find them? That was a little trickier.
