Background story
The story of Pamela’s childhood is not an uncommon one, unpopular and mocked, she was a lonely child, bullied over her looks, shyness, intelligence and nerdishness, over her participation in academic and cultural activities including the performance of the Nutcracker, bullying that would remain in her mind until her resentment finally got the better of her and she adopted her Mouse persona.
Pamela’s nerves and shyness were to dog her as she moved into early adulthood and following attaining her degree she found herself working as a secretary at Gotham City Hall in the Engineering Division of City Services at which point she became infatuated with City Engineer Schuyler Ollsworthy despite his lack of interest in her. When Ollsworthy was fired, Pamela’s resentment boiled over at this injustice to the object of her affections and she began a campaign of sabotage to try to prove that Ollsworthy had been correct, in the process putting many innocent lives in danger.
[In the comics -Later Pamela became involved with Catwoman and the Blockbuster Gang, involved in several heists, cyber tracking and ultimately an explosion which killed dozens of innocent people.]
Description
Appearance: Pamela is unassuming, most commonly found in office attire, her hair tied in a ponytail, and wearing glasses, one would easily pass her anywhere and never notice her.
As Mouse, Pamela wears a grey and white body suit, with corrective lenses which also provide night vision capabilities. Her costume is only of limited protective value and she prefers not to become involved in physical situations, relying on guns or less direct methods of dealing with opponents.
Personality: Pamela is shy and insecure, she has strong feelings of self-doubt and low self-esteem. She will most likely not react immediately to any slights or insults but will let them fester into long lasting resentment. Resentment which might ultimately lead to attempted retribution.
She is extremely emotional and impulsive when it comes to her own desires, but exhibits a chilling lack of empathy for others, unless she has developed an attachment to them. Most frequently, however, these are attachments to her own idea of someone rather than the reality, and she is likely to turn on that person should they not meet her expectations, possibly with deadly results.

Pamela flinched as Selina dabbed at her with the towel, her neck tender, bruising no doubt, and slowly the words seeped in, the threats, and her mind began to slide towards that dark place, slipping, as the world funneled her down. Still so sure of herself, or not listening, Pamela tried to shrank away as Selina’s arm wrapped around her pulled her gently nearer and she pulled the straggles of hair from Pam’s face. Calming words, but weasel words, worming, sliding between chinks in her armour to persuade and manipulate. Pamela looked into those green eyes, so wide and honest but it was all a lie. Warming, consoling, ego massaging words, until the knife stuck between her ribs into her heart. A man inside. Matt. Selina wanted her claws in him too, beautiful trusting Matt. The only one who… “No. Please.”
...
She didn’t want to hear, didn’t want to listen but the words crept in, and the funnel walls steepened as she slipped in and down, drowning in Selina’s words and persuasions, spiraling down into the dark. Knowing she had hoped in vain, there was no escape, and now not even for Matt. When she left, the apartment was rank and foul to her, what she had approached in joy she left in darkness.Poor Matt.
It was the hardest night she had known, it tore her inside, tore everything to pieces. They had made love and she had held him, his weight still on her as she began the tears and the lies, deceits built on half-truths, of her fear, of the threats, of death.
“Oh Matt, it’s that woman who was here” and she thought of the claws on her neck and her own blood, his fingers tracing the marks, as she twisted words whilst her stomach knotted, “… knows too much ..” of knives and guns and “… blackmail…” of the fear “…will kill me... “ and the steel trap that closed around her, of the men with the knives, of skin stretched and peeled, of boots stamping and bones splintered, of their hands upon her and worse “…was in Earle’s office… framed me.” The words came, sometimes easily, sometimes forced, the truths and the untruths and half-truths poured into his ear. “Gott no, we can’t go to the police, she’s been here, taken things, planted things. If we turn, she will take me down, and her friends and clients, terrifying people, people already died. They will kill me. I can’t even…” skin stretched thin against the light, bones cracking like kindling, their hands upon her. –c-
“I’m so frightened Matt, I need you, I’m so frightened.” And the shivering of fear, and hatred and despair and the tears running, and not even fake. “If it could only be done like she wanted, there’d be enough to run.. and no one could find us… ever… we could run … and hide… and be safe and alone.” She reached up to touch his face, so cold, so afraid “Save me! Please!” And they had held each other and wept, as the night turned pale.

Selina Kyle - Catwoman | Bruce Wayne - Batman | Matthew Black | William Earle |
Mouse was resolutely small time, lacking ambition until she met Selina. Their relationship is a mess, characterised by resentment and outright hatred. Pitifully, Selina is still probably the closest thing Pamela has to a friend. | Mouse is prone to infatuations, the reality of her subject not always compatible with her idealised view of them. Bruce however may be closer than most. | Pamela's first 'love' and the end of any hope of innocence. | The focal point, the start and end of Selina and Pamela's partnership. |
Peyton Riley - Ventriloquist and Scarface | |||
A 'couple' who enjoy fine wine, candlelit dinners, walks on the beach, and torturing Pamela on an emotional level. |
