Yellow - Yellow is the color of Fear. Fear can corrupt a Green Lantern's willpower and render their Ring weaker and/or powerless.
Charging - Although a powerful weapon and tool, the Power Ring requires periodic charging to function, drained by usage and intensity (creating a pencil drains the charge far less than creating a dragon), and will cease to work should the charge be depleted.
Inexperience - Kyle is a rookie Green Lantern and, although possessed of a powerful will and imagination, he is ignorant of many of the capabilities of the ring and the extent of them.
Human - All that comes with that.
Youthful - Kyle is young and still maturing, therefore prone to the brashness of youthful exuberance.
Mental Incapacitation - Kyle cannot wield his ring correctly if he is under the influence of drugs or if he is suffering from some form of neural interference. Although Lantern's can shield themselves from metal assault, they are as vulnerable to it as any of their race if they are caught unprepared or otherwise unable to react (such as when sleeping).
Personality
Kyle is devoted to his chosen profession as a artist even if it runs the risk of him ending up on the street. His talent has been noted but he has yet to find steady work and scrapes by on odd jobs. This deep love translates itself even into the constructs that he creates. Not only does he tend to create more fantastic constructs (such as dragons, castles, samurai and robots) but even his simple ones are more elaborate (Hal makes a simple boxing glove whereas Kyle will make a medieval armored gauntlet that looks straight out of a Final Fantasy game) and even as they are formed, they never appear totally complete as his mind is constantly changing and refining the image subconsciously. While the practicality of his constructs can be argued, they do make him unpredictable. The dissatisfaction with his constructs also extends to his work and his approach to being a hero and he is constantly trying to grow and be better.
A generally good natured individual, Kyle always tries to see the best but not to an obtrusive amount. He can be very aware of how bleak situations become and he reacts accordingly but he is not one to just roll over and die at the worst of times; he just does not always know what he should do. He is cheerful and social; often willing to make new friends and interested in meeting new people. With women that he is interested in, Kyle can be quite a flirt and romantic; genuinely wanting a relationship he is in to work out and doing what he can to avoid broken hearts. He isn't judgmental and takes people for who they are, liking or disliking them as the case may be; although he's not above cracking the occasional joke it is in good fun and he is quick to apologize if someone's feelings are hurt. A big movie, anime, comic etc. buff, he tends to quote some of his favorite lines now and again even so far as to, in a fight, remark how he had to "go Eastwood on everybody."
If he has one personality flaw, it can be his lack of faith in himself. He is fully aware of those he fights beside and the expectations held for him as a hero and while he can often ignore or fight through it, his doubt can become so great that he can end up hating himself for his failings. What separates Kyle from the from other Green Lanterns is that he questioningly feels Fear. However, the Power Ring chose him because he is able to acknowledge that Fear and then overcome it, using it as a driving force to fight on.

Sitting on the edge of his bed in his apartment, Kyle stared at the little green ring he clutched between his thumb and forefinger. His room was almost a wreck with a mess of clothes strewn around the place, disheveled bed, stale pizza sitting on the counter top, and dishes piled in the sink that bordered on too much. Then there was his appearance: black t-shirt un-tucked, button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up haphazardly to his elbows, faded jeans, old converse, and messy hair. The only ordered part of his room was the easel set up by the window of his apartment and the table, with various art supplies neatly placed and positioned on top. It would be hard for anyone to believe that this -kid- was the new protector of an entire sector of space, least of all Kyle himself. Billions of lives now rested on his shoulders and, while the gravity of the fact did not escape him, he couldn't help but slip on the ring with a beaming smile on his face as the uniform appeared over his cloths and the mask over his eyes. "Alright, now that I'm not under the threat of death by some angry alien, lets see... what.. I... can... COOL!" The first thought that popped into his head, that of the one of the dog creatures from the first Ghostbusters movie, immediately formed in the center of his floor, sitting back on its haunches. Making the mouth move with his words, Kyle said, through his barely contained laughter, "There is no Kyle. There is only Zool! Hahahah!" The next few minutes had kyle create various other constructs: the Ghostbusters themselves, Slimer (which he -had to have "slime" parts of his room), a mini gundam, a pair of samurai dueling, and then finally "Dirty" Harry with his .44 Magnum raised.
The sound of an alarm going off shocked him out of his fun before he could mention something about feeling lucky. Running over to his window, Kyle pulled the blinds and opened the shutter, sticking his head out without even thinking about how he was still in his uniform. "Wonder what's..." It didn't take more than a few moments to see that the it was the 7 Eleven down the street being robbed. Leaping from his window, Kyle flew through the air towards the gas station/ quick stop and reached the door just as the muggers, dressed in over-sized clothes and holding handguns up to the cashier's face, snatched a plastic bag full of money from the elderly man. *Alright. Think of something intimidating. Something scary. Grab their attention and I've got it!* "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!" he shouted at the two crooks, holding up his ring towards them, inwardly smiling at himself. Robocop. Who wasn't intimidated by Robocop?! The world seemed to pause and, for a moment, Kyle was sure that he had gotten to the crooks before they turned their guns on him and started firing. Forgetting that he had his Power Ring, Kyle's eyes went wide and he dove to the side as the bullets whizzed by him. Seizing the moment, the robbers ran out of the store, laughing about the "dumbass in the weird pajamas!"
Blushing a bit, Kyle pushed himself up to a seated position, "Well that didn't work... Why am I glow...ing... Oh. Right." The clerk was shouting at him about how much of an idiot he was too, but Kyle didn't pay him any mind, calling back over his shoulder, "Be right back!" as he flew after the criminals who were fleeing in their old car. *Man I can't forget that again!* he thought to himself, *That was embarrassing.* He followed after the car, easily keeping up with them as he thought of the best way to handle this. A idea suddenly forming in his head, Kyle stopped where he was and pushed his fist forward. The ring glowed brightly and just in front of the car, appearing on both sides, two fully armored samurai's appeared, drawing their katana's and quickly using the ends of their weapons to slice through the tires of the fleeing vehicle. Two sets of loud pops echoed out as the car began to skid out of control and head towards a road work site. Kyle was well ahead of it, however, and in between the first set of cones, the workers behind them, and the car a construct of a sumo wrestler appeared, his feet slamming down on the pavement and hands going to his knees. The front of the car struck the gut of the construct, going into it like it was jello, before it stopped and the wrestler's hands clamped over the doors, holding the robbers in.
The Lantern hovered down beside the driver's side of the car, smirk on his face, "You know guys, there's gotta be a better way to make money than robbing some poor old guy just trying to run a store." The smile faded as he thought back to his own situation. He was barely making ends meet pulling a few jobs here and there for ads and the like, but it was hard in this day and age of computer design for an artist that much preferred to hand draw things, even with the talent others said he had. He felt for the guys, but that did not make what they had done right. A robotic hand shot into the car and popped out the bag of money as the sounds of police sirens came close. "Well guys, maybe things will work out," and he turned and flew off with bag in hand. Arriving back at the store, he handed the man the bag and, not really wanting to stick around, quickly made for the door but what his ears didn't miss was the clerk muttering about this terrible outfit. Back at his apartment, Kyle looked himself over in the mirror. "I... guess it's kind of lame. And it's not really me. Hm... " He closed his eyes, picturing in his mind what he wished the uniform looked like, "If only I had some gauntlets and different boots. If the symbol was altered too. Maybe a... -lot- but still the idea. And the torso area if it looked like..." When he opened his eyes, they immediately went wide as all of his ideas had come into effect. "Wow! That's awesome!" *Not that it matters, but if you've gotta be a hero at least you can look like -you- right?*
