Activity and Character Policy
Character Cap
-There is a limit of (5) characters per player.
Exceptions
-Members who have (+5) Characters before this rule was enacted may keep their current characters, however, if they drop down to (5) they may not go back over that limit.
-”But Lois, we want to play more!” Seriously? Show me that you’re extremely active on all of the characters you have, maintain that activity and then come and talk to me, then the admin team will discuss if having more than 5 is applicable in your situation.
-Can't get on RPC? Your alternative choice is to *notify* Batman that you will do your RP on the forums. This is only an exception and will not be the rule. It is only an alternative if you cannot make your post in the room for that month.
Activity
-Activity is required at (1) RP per month no matter how many characters you have, in RPC. Please give an admin a heads up when you do it so we can mark it down!
-”But Lois, why in RPC?” Because we want our room to be active. Skype is wonderful and convenient but if no one sees us RPing, why would they want to join us? Please, show off your lovely writing to the masses.
-”But Lois, what if I am having a bad month and can’t make one RP? Or just don’t feel like it?” Leave of Absence (LOA) requests are still available, or come and talk to me or Steph/Bruce/Dean/Elaine. Just be sure to take responsibility for your character and commitments, this is a group effort, kids! As far as holiday’s go? We’ll adjust as needed.
-”Lois, what counts as RPing?” For 2-3 players we consider 3 rounds (3 posts per person) to be 1 RP session. For 4-15 players we consider 2 rounds or more (8 posts minimum for 4 players) to be a full RP session. Para or up and with canon characters to [DCU] only, count!
-”Lois, what about the freebies we've saved up by following the previous policy?” Your freebies will roll over to the new activity policy - so you can use them until they're gone! We're not going to have a new system like that since it's only one RP required per month, so savor them!
-”But Lois, no extra incentives? Why should we follow this then?”You don't have to follow anything, it's your choice whether or not you adhere to the rules (it's just RP, not a job), however I will still be giving you your birthday month's off!
-Since we are not monitoring activity as closely, if someone new comes to the group and has interest in a character that we have not seen you active on, we will ask if you’re willing to give up the character. Don’t be offended it’s just making room for new and active players.
-Example: Someone comes in wanting to play Livewire, Lois is Livewire and though she rarely plays her she is active in several RPs as that character - we will ask her if she is willing to step down. If she says no because she has active RPs, so be it, if she says yes the new player will have to be willing to take on the canon that was left behind. It’s a trade off.
-The head of each “family” (IE: Batman/Wonder Woman/Superman/Aquaman) has the right to remove you from said “family” if you are not meeting expectations, they will of course talk to you, and try to work it out but you have to be willing to do so as well.
New Players
-Welcome to [DCU]! You’re welcome to join us in the [DCU] Skype Group. Skype is used to help our community setup RPs between players due to everyone having different schedules. If you're too shy for Skype, we also heavily encourage logging into RPC to socialize, RP, and relax. Remember that we require you to notify admins at least once a month that you RPed so we can mark you as an active player.
