Character Origin: Comics. I read all of them regarding Halo and I am ignoring the new version for now because it pales in comparison to the old (first) one. It is too rushed and just meh.
*Any information regarding katana may be subject to change, retcon, if we ever get someone to play Katana, depending on the player preferences.
Name: Gabrielle Doe/Violet Harper.
Alias: Halo but also blondie (by friends and enemies), shiny (metamorpho
), V (I read this one occasionally) and apparently pretty little thing too (by multitude of creeps). Do NOT call her Gaby, I hate it.Race: She is an Aurakles merged with the body of a human girl thanks in part to the alignment of the planets at the right moment (coughs Lainey coughs). Aurakles are beings of energy as old as the universe and a merge with a living being has only happened once so, she is “a” Halo. The original owner of the body, Violet, is 100% dead. (Do not feel bad though, she was evil incarnate and I mean it).
Age: 21 years old. (At the very start of canon she was between 15 to 17 in a doctor check up, in vol 1 she was 16 and made 17 during that and at the end of the original canon, in 2011, she was still referred as a teenage girl by Katana so, I am just going with more or less how she looks like, a young woman, that could be called a teenage girl at some point but without meaning it).
Birthday: 10th September, I changed the month from canon, which is July and same day, because of personal preference really, not hard to guess why if you know me.
Alignment: Good cute neutral.
Height: 5’7’’, this is canon, I was surprised to find all of it, so nice.
Weight: 120lbs, same as above!
Hair: Blonde, sometimes with a pair of blue and red streaks.
Eyes: Pretty blue.
Physique: Small, kind of delicate, hourglass figure, firm and in fit. She is fairly attractive in general and has no marks, scars or tattoos whatsoever.
Training: Katana has given her lessons in oriental philosophy and self defense techniques. Halo uses those physical lessons into her ranged style of combat fairly effectively. She still has a lot of room for improvement in non ranged combat though, she is a glass cannon. She is experienced with her own powers on her own over the years but again still has lots of untapped potential and shows great promise!
Equipment: She has a cellphone and I am pretty sure that there are a couple of frying pans at their home. She is blonde like Rapunzel so beware! Also clothes and other basic properties. Her Halo outfits are physical but she instantly changes clothes at will and her previous normal clothes go somewhere and vice versa, dimensional trick!
Powers / Abilities
I write her capabilities and not her current level of use as she has untapped potential and potential character growth until she is able to use all of them at maximum power and effectiveness. In other words, not a newbie but not the total expert yet.
Light and color based powers.
Red aura: Heat aura! Makes things really hot, her rays with this aura would clash with Superman’s rays for example, not that there is much of a reason since she sighs when he is around, crush detected! It also obviously allows her and others to survive in extremely cold temperatures.
Orange aura: Force aura, it allows her to zap through things, boom! Push! It also protects herself from things or projectiles coming her way
Yellow aura: It makes her glow like a sun, but just light, not heat! Think of it as a super big flashlight, or yeah, a sun without heat. It also destroys vampires reaaaally good.
Green aura. Stasis aura, it does what it sounds it does, places people or chemicals or gas in stasis, it will also send them to dreamland, you know, to sleep. It does not work on machines and it does not affect gravity either! It also protects her from similarly stasis like attacks, like being frozen so that then she can activate her heat aura to get free or surviving in space just fine.
Blue aura. Distortion aura, basically it can make herself look like she is someplace she is not, while her real self is elsewhere invisible. Basically a decoy of sorts, it works on things, like hiding a team’s plane as it lands, and in
groups of people too! (Dinah decoys everywhere!)
Indigo aura: Tractor beam! It picks up stuff basically, the heavier the weight the shorter she can carry it though! It can be used to carry things or help a teammate fly along her for example. But also can be used in combat too with obvious uses!
Violet Aura: Halo does not use this one but it basically allowed whatever remnants of the evil Violet to use all of Halo’s powers at once.
Rainbow aura: Just like it sounds an intense ray that breaks on all her colors on impact, think of it like Halo’s ultimate as it seems to be pretty “scarypotent”. Apparently she can also adjust the spectrum to increase effectiveness depending on the target and for other less aggravating uses like tuning the spectrum to pinpoint a location based on a certain radiation, provided she is doing it outside the planet, still hurts Metamorpho though (which was on the receiving end to help with this pinpoint plan) Oh! It is also very pretty to look at, shinnies!
White aura: it does absolutely nothing! Useless! Useless! Well... it allows her to fly and it gives some clear light, but that is about it.
Flying!!! Weeee! (she says this
). All of her auras allows her to fly. Highest speed she has been seen flying was ludicrous speed light speed so, obviously she can survive just fine in space thanks to her auras which also allows her body to like, not disintegrate with such high speeds.Musical aptitudes: Apparently she is just good with musical instruments despite lacking former training, for example, she can play the piano shockingly beautifully and without knowing how to read a partiture. It is probably an Aurakle harmony kind of thing.
Detecting scents and radiation: Halo seems to be able to detect, not quite identify she just detects that something is weird, oddities in the air but also traces of radiations, like the Zeta radiation.
Beautiful inside too: She is not just a very pretty girl, or the typical charming and sweet girl next door, she also is smart but more importantly, Halo is truly the light, the positive vibe of youth and optimism that is needed within a team (this last thing was said by one of the authors, pretty obvious that she is that!). She will lie to make people feel better, she will try to calm a heated discussion aaaand she can be pretty sassy, specially during fights. She will accept a tiny little reward for her heroic acts, like new shoes for Katana and a jacket for herself though! She also seems to have a good leadership skill.
Noob’s luck! Halo has a thing for stumbling into villain’s plans like the best spy ever, but without ever intending to.
Instant outfits! Self explanatory, she can instantly change from whatever clothes she is wearing to her Halo outfit and vice-versa, it is pretty useful if you ask me!
Anti-black lantern: Her light seems to be very effective against black lanterns and it destroys, really literally, their rings. The effort can be so extreme that Halo might actually disperse back to her dimension, with human body and everything, called by “the light” as she said, but she can be brought back to Earth afterward.
Kiiiind of immortal but not quite: She is afraid to die but, while she can be mostly killed like a human girl, an Aurakle is a being of pure energy, immortal, which kind of explains why Halo gets into coma states to wake up after some time or downright revives after a while with the same appearance. So, and this is straight from the comic books, she can once again take the form of someone familiar, the blonde girl Violet, which is also a form that comforts her and allows her to forget just how powerful she is and allows her to forget that she is an Aurakle, which is why she has some amnesia issues.
Weaknesses
Ingenuity: Halo is really adorable, cute and sweet and I want to huggle her, but this is also a weakness because people take advantage of her. Bad people! Bad! Everyone lies to her and she believes them! That said when she finds out she gets VERY UPSET. Similarly if teased with kisses and calling her blondie and similar stuff she reacts in angry scary fashion, fly you fools! She also does not get some things, a word, a joke, subtle meanings, and she will make the funniest and most confused and adorable faces ever when that happens, remember that she is basically… foreign so it adds to her innocence and ingenuity kind of vibe.
Coma states: It is a recurring thing for Halo. She has got into a comatose state three times during all her comic appearances, either due to being “mostly dead” or by exhaustion after an extreme use of her powers, she wakes up but it takes time, poor Katana is always waiting at her side.
Separation: Trying to separate Halo from her body will result with the destruction of both.
No kill pleases: She just does not like to kill. She also tries to stop villains by asking them at first or tells them if it is the case that they have no reason to fight. She also fights to protect her friends. That said, robots, vampires, black lanterns and other undead do not count because they are dead or not alive. I am aware that this is discrimination against sentient AI and undead but I do not care! Lalalala.
Colorless: There are a few villains that can negate the color spectrum, rendering Halo with just her white aura, which is pretty much what you call useless.
Violet: Even though Violet is enjoying the “evil murderers wait in this line” theme park in Hell, there seems to be a remnant inside of Halo, obviously not her soul, but whatever it is it took control once and could use Halo’s powers for evil, albeit very dumb blonde evil, through the violet aura. Easily noticeable because of the color of the aura and because she just behaves and talks in very mean ways.
Character Timeline
2012:
Found by Katana right after the merge. Halo name given by Katana! (this is a retcon, it was Batman that found and named Halo but Bruce said no!).
Halo gets her legal papers and real name in the US. Katana accepts Halo to live with her becoming her legal guardian. Momma bear mode! <3
Finishing school and starting training and adventures with Katana!
2013:
Eventually finds her previous identity, “biological” parents die heroically defending her.
Remembers and pieces together what she was and what she is now.
Confronts other Aurakles, crazy fight.
Adventures! Also befriends Looker and others, see below for relationships! (subject to change though)
2016:
Adventures on her own, bestest teen heroine 2016 (lol, not really). Still <3's mom-Katana though.
Present time!

Katana: Katana sang to help her sleep due to nightmares, head on lap. That is all you need to know! But ok, basically they have a true mother-daughter relationship. Stern but lovable and caring, momma bear! <3
Looker: They are friends and allies! Yay!
Violet’s biological parents: Kinda her family, which is like saying a bit pregnant. They died heroically defending Halo.
Tengus: They are Japanese mythological furry cute little things. She befriended them, despite some initial er, conflicting and cutely violent first impression (Kintaro? Kintaro? Kintaro!), their magic, so to say, allows people to understand their language.
Katana’s sword: She can wield it to return it to Katana, the sword is ok with it!
The still Incomplete Union of Aurakles: Or the other Aurakles in existence. Their only purpose with Halo is to bring her back with them, so that they all can be complete again. They consider irrelevant that Halo dies if they separate her or that she does not want to go.
Elaine: Basically an effort for room-building-continuity, they do not know each other, not personally, not yet anyway but she helped a tiny little bit in creating Halo. This is not canon, obviously but I like the idea of Elaine helping.
Intro + Audition post + funny epilogue.
Halo was in Tokio, with loud metallic noises banging the door not far from her and strange robotic voices behind it too “Destroy main threat! Destroy main threat!”. She was behind the counter behind cover trying to catch her breath. Needless to say, she was in trouble! Stupid stupid sentient AIs! Albeit it would take some time before they got to her. “Alright!” she started to think to herself. “How exactly did I get here… like in this situation, um... I was born with the first light of everything but I have not been around since the beginning of time. You know, when an Aurakle accumulates” it was clear that her line of thought was basically rambling “more knowledge than it could hold, it becomes two, so that is how I was born! I was different though, I was fascinated by humanity rather than on stars or on the universe itself and I wondered what would it be like to be human, to feel hunger and pain. For thousands of years I watched and there I would still be save for a planetary alignment in this solar system, I do not even know how it happened in the first place! I have had this powers for as long as I have been alive, all of us have them. Anyway, this is what happened but then, it is when it gets pretty weird...” she nodded to herself, remembering the images, a mix of her own and her own imagination based on what Katana had told her that she saw.
It was late in Markovia, a state at war at the moment so gunshots were not a surprise. One was surprising to its victim though, a young blonde girl laid on he ground in a puddle of blood “oh she is dead!” she thought just then as Death has already come to retrieve her soul. At the same time something that had never happened before and that should not be possible actually happened. The alignment of the planets helped open a passage between our reality and the dimension where the Aurakles live, a rip in the sky. A colorful light came from that rip and spilled onto her, into her.
The body of the human girl levitated a meter above the ground, her back arched as a loud scream echoed across the fields. At the same time, a blinding colorful light emerged from her body, illuminating the whole area and making it blindingly visible from aa far distance, even if only for the few seconds that the scream, the noise and the light lasted. And then the girl remained there, on the ground, unconscious but alive and covered by a white aura and dressed with a colorful outfit. And just then when Katana approached the poor girl for the first time as she had seen the poor girl’s body levitate and then fall again.
“And between that moment and this there is a lot of spending time with Katana as basically my mom and school, and adventures with her and Looker and now adventures on my own… which is why I am here! In Tokio with these robots that... uh oh!!!!” Halo said as she only managed to duck a door that just had just flown across the door and into the wall, it could have cute her hair, or head otherwise!
She replied with her orange aura, floating up and to the side as she shot a force blast to the first robot at the door. “Hah! A bottleneck!” she thought, pretty happy of her tactic as she switched to her heat aura and started to melt the pair of robots that were struggling to walk past the door, mostly because Halo’s force blast had made the first robot fall down to the floor and was basically in the way.
The heat aura took some seconds but it did melt parts of the robots but it also did something else that Halo had not expected “Overheating, Overheating! Danger! Emergency shutdown!” The three said before effectively shutting down. Otherwise the explosion would have been disastrous for the robotic complex and these AI in particular had preservation of the self as a top priority, even if that meant attacking employers and the flying blonde girl with the aura defending them.
“Yay! That works!!!” she said with a giggle before she landed close to the robot, keeping them at a warm temperature with her aura as she shouted at the still hiding employers on their white lab robes “All is good! They shut down!” she said loud enough “But you might want to come over here and disable them for good, unless you want me to turn them to trash!”
“No no no! Please miss! We will fix them!” two said with a very heavy accent as they approached her and the disabled robots, obviously they did not want to lose everything. “Um, ok? But you better be careful the next time, yeah? Noone likes evil crazy robots at home!” she giggled a bit, waiting there until the scientists were done extracting the main processors from the three crazy robots, it took a minute really. Then she smiled and waved goodbye, moving to the policial authorities that had finally arrived to explain to them what has happened. Then feeling happy to have helped some innocents, she flew away into the sky.
Epilogue (for continuity and giggles, feel free to skip.): Mona and Elaine are talking about the Aurakles when... “Ohmigosh!! I know that face! That’s your playful face, what did you do?!” Mona said, as if she had suddenly solved a half a puzzle.
Elaine gasps and blinked making her best 100% innocent face with wide eyes looking up to the ceiling, but also quickly covering her ears with both hands “la la la la la not listeeeniiiing! Not listening! Can’t hear yoouuu!”
Mona whined and struggled with Elaine, trying to remove her hands from covering her ears “Oiii!!! Elaaaiiiineeee! I’m taaalkiiing!!”
After some giggling and playful struggling. “Ok! Fine! It already wanted to be human, and Death had already taken that soul, so… I kind of gave the planetary alignment that was required a little push, for like a couple of seconds only, then everything was normal again.” she said looking to the side as well as pursing her lips to the side too in a -did nothing wrong- way.
Mona shook her head and rolled her eyes. Sighing deeply “I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! But why? That’s not our world, it’s not even your new one”
“Because I can’t just sit in a silver tower, plus it’s like an indirect approach, I think she will do some good! I’m sure!”
