Justice League 2
Doctor Fate: Less than a day after the Centre was destroyed News reels of the fight played on every news Broadcast. The Public viewed this as a sign, the Heroes of Earth joined together could only be good right? Some were demanding more. Others were skeptical. Luthor and others were livid over this. The News papers began prinitng with as much haste they could. For certain papers this was slightly easier than most. Later That Night in Salem, Kent Nelson was watching this within his apartment, He had taken the Helmet off his work was finished for now. He looked to a Portrat of the JSA. "This was a one time thing." Then he heard a voice." I said the same thing when I put the helmet on for the first time." Kent shook his head." That was a different time and you had..." " Had nothing compared to what this generation will face.."
Batman: Wayne Penthouse, inside the Bat-Bunker located in Downtown Gotham…“It was absolutely extraordinary!” -The first man spoke with a groggy voice, when the second man spoke and interjected.- “No, it’s outrageous…It will be NO TIME that these “Heroes” are going to start getting into the pocket of the corporations and politics. The next generation of MTV is coming. Think about the influence these weirdo’s will have on our children.” -The computers volume sunk lower as Alfred turned down the speakers.- “Morning, sir.” -Bruce Wayne was sleeping in a chair wearing Batman’s leggings and chest piece, while his gloves, cowl, bracers, and shoulders were resting on the floor, scraped and damaged from the events the night prior. Bruce’s hair was messy and fluffy from sweat that had dried and brought his dark hairs to cling together entwined.- “Ohh…Alfred…” -Bruce leaned forward and rubbed his eyes.- “Why do I feel like I was ran over by a train?” <c>
Batman:-Alfred took a moment to think and then spoke.- “Probably because you went head to head with Godzilla…And if I may say so, it looks like you won.” -Bruce scratched his head and grumbled.- “I don’t feel like it…” “I’m grateful on many levels…Not just the planet that’s saved, but that you didn’t bring your new acquaintances back for any after party celebrations. Though, Ms. Lance is always a pleasure to see. Are you two-…” -Bruce groaned still trying to shake off the soreness of his body.- “No…No…we’re just friends…” -Bruce turned to look at the laboratory table with chemicals being analyzed and weighted by computer systems. His gaze fell onto the television where a few cameras displayed the Centre fighting the Superheroes.- “Dick won’t be happy that he wasn’t there…”
Green Lantern: Stepping out of Carol's office, Hal sat back against the door and let out a long breath, "Well that could have gone better." He shook his head and then stood up straight and headed down the hall, shaking his head as his hands slipped into the pockets of his flight suit. Grounded for a month for missing a test flight. Sure it was for a grant and Carol wanted the best pilot to fly for it, not a woman to settle for less, and SURE they'd only just barely gotten approval for it and yes, yes he had promised that he'd be there. But still! He had just saved the world from some ancient, adult dino making, energy wielding thing... with help from others. That had to be worth something, right? If she...knew... about it.. and he was who he was... "Well..." he muttered, slipping into the locker room to change, "rent can wait and I still have," he looked down at his Power Ring, "my emerald girl."
Black Canary: Dinah woke up and stretched, suddenly wishing she hadn't, pain arcing through her body. Ooh last night had left her pretty sore. Last night still felt like it wasn't real. If someone had told her she would have been fighting monsters, actual monsters last night, she would have said they were crazy. But crazy came, who was she to argue. She then lay still trying to figure out where she was. She blinked and looked around, She was laying on an over stuffed leather couch. Oh that's right Wayne Penthouse. When her and Bruce got back she was too tired to go back to her apartment and colapsyed. Someone had kindly wrapped her up in a blanket. She smirked, must have been Alfred. She got up, still dressed as Black Canary, her boots where sitting neatly by the couch where she had taken them off. She got up and picked up her jacket which was laying on another chair and shrugged it on. Ugh, she felt gross from that workout of a fight. A shower could wait though. (c)
Black Canary: She walked barefoot save her fishnets and peeked into the master bedroom, bruce never made it to bed, the bed was still neatly made. She walked to the kitchen, found a glass of orange juice waiting for her in the fridge and grabbed walking to the big elevator. She typed the special code and went down to Bat Bunker. She did some warm up stretches in the elevator and ran her fingers through her mussed blonde hair, looking in the mirrored doors, before stepping out. She waved to Alfred. "Hey, good morning Alfred." she set down her half finished orange juice on the lab table. She smiled warmly at Bruce, "Good morning, sleep in your chair again?" she teased. she looked at Bruce's monitors. "Are we on every station?" she said smirking. "I still can't believe how many of us were there. For just diving in together, we played well off each other." she smirked, the images of the battle still playing in her mind as she saw some shakey footage on the monitors. (d)
Ollie Queen: He grunted sitting up, his back cracking like it was bubble wrap. "Note to self....make sure to pad costume tomorrow." He said he was fine, said he wouldn't feel a thing....yeah obvious the number two Playboy Billionaire seemed unfamiliar with the term "He's gonna feel that in the morning.".. But life called, so that meant a shower, a little grooming and a cup of coffee or several cups. "Hmm wonder what tabloids are going to say about this one." With a press of the universal remote, the large plasma screen came to life and on the channel broadcasting about the incident last night. A long sigh leaving his lips with a few under audible things no man should say in public, or around people. "Man...so many unflattering shots....I need to work out more." His second alarm went off and he groaned. "Being a super hero is easy....Company leader not so much." And without delay he went to get dressed, decent suit, a bland tie, he felt like a damned monkey. How does Bruce manage to stay sane.
Wonder Woman: Her eyes closed as she stood looking over Gateway City, her home away from Paradise. “And so this is how it begins,” she smiled, feeling the warmth of the rising sun kissing her skin. There were eyes below her, people watching as Wonder Woman hovered over their city. Most would agree that Wonder Woman was seen as a benevolent force. In Gateway she was known as a hero, and now she was known, as her mother had been, to the wider world. Her clear blue eyes closed, taking in a deep breath as she floated over the centre of the city. There was much discussion, some positive, some negative, some entirely off topic. Her Mother had told her about the work she had done as a member of the Justice Society, and of the great bonds she shared, even now back in Themyscira, with the other heroes. Somehow, she thought to herself, this wouldn’t be the case. The coming together seemed to be an act of necessity rather than anything representive of a bond. There were too many large personalities at play,-c-
Wonder Woman: too many reasons not to trust. “By Hera,” she whispered, reopening her eyes to the warmth of day rise. If they could set an example, rise above their mistrust of each other, what a shining beckon they could hold up for mankind. The thought was enough to make Diana smile, a simple, small pull of her lips. No rest for the Amazon, however; she had a meeting with the UN regarding what happened, many state leaders were demanding answers. <e>
Black Manta: Meanwhile In Star City Home of Green Arrow, And home to Queen Industries. Manta wanted something there. The red globes glanced around the perimeter. The deeper altered voice of the man in the helmet pointed to the door.” Open the door.” One of his Manta men walked up holding a Rocket Launcher firing at the door causing the bullet proof glass to fly every where.” Manta walked in just after the glass shattered. Pulling out one of his blades capable of cutting through Aquaman’s thick flesh. Kicking a security guard in the knee cap then bringing the blade through the back of the man’s and out of his mouth before pulling his blade out with a clean stroke. “You know what to do.” Manta watched as several other security guards came towards him. Jumping up on the receptionist’s desk. When the ball of his foot hit the desk he flipped off pulling both blades out and slicing two of the guards across their chests.”Tell me how many more of you am I going to kill this evening?” One of the men -
Black Manta: One of the men pulled his gun and fired at Manta’s head”Die you freak!” the bullet bounced from the helmet.” Wrong answer.” Matan raised his hand firing a dart into the man’s leg.” That Dart has the poison of a Box Jellyfish..You’ll be dead in a few minutes, but I promise you…You’ll want to be dead before that.” He moved towards the last two."Beg for your lives." The men look at each other" Please don't....." The blades were stabbed into their mouths simultaniously. "Kill you.." Manta smirked.
Superman: Sitting at his desk, Clark Kent typed away at his computer. The peace that was the hustle and bustle of the floor relaxed the man. He always found it a pleasure to sit and watch as those who worked at the Daily Planet worried about deadlines and proper spelling as though life depended on them. In truth, for their lives, such things were legitement concerns. Each person had to put food on the table, bills they needed to pay, and people to take care of (even if it was only themselves.). The success of each depended upon the very deadlines that they worried about. Pausing his work for a moment, Clark leaned back in his chair and smiled. The coming, and subsequent defeat, of the being known as the Centre as saw something occur that he had not thought would happen: each of the heroes that he knew of working together in tandem. As the battled had raged, egos had been put aside in the acceptence that otherwise the battle would be lost. Even the heroine Black Canary had played a key
Superman: part int he battle, protecting the people and saving lives with Green Lantern while the man known as Doctor Fate, Wonder Woman, and himself battled the being from the outside while Batman and Flash fought it, and destroyed it, from the inside. He was glad to have had all of them there. Each filled a specific role or provided extra support, executing what they did perfectly which not only aided in the safety of innocents, but let those who were battling the Centre and vice verse focus more on the task that they needed to do instead of worry about the other.
Batman: -Alfred smiled seeing Dinah approach them, noticing the glass of orange juice she carried with her.- “You all made the news. Just about every channel has cell phones trying to give some accurate feed and description.” -Bruce had ignored Dinah’s attempt to tease him as he stood up and began picking up the bat suit pieces to hang them upon the display case. Alfred then looked to Dinah and said.- “Think you two should’ve brought back a T-Rex?” -Bruce would call out in response, his voice carrying from across the room.- “I already got one…”-Bruce began changing his clothes without thought of Dinah and Alfred seeing the bruises over his thighs and stomach. Bruce was now wearing sweat pants and had an opened white dress shirt exposing his chest and abs while buttoning it up he approached Dinah. “Will you be alright?” -Bruce then smiled at her with a weak with his question.- “I can give you a ride home…or to work…”<c>
Batman: -Bruce jerked his head into a slant for a brief moment before righting it straight.- “You’re welcome to use the shower...Told you last night.” -Bruce casually reminded her with a bit of a teasing tone as he noticed her hair was still messy and she too probably just crashed near the closest comfortable piece of furniture. He walked towards the computer to open a miniature refrigerator under the desk where he pulled out a bottle of water to begin gulping down the cold and clear beverage, it would go a long way in helping replenish his body’s strength.-
Doctor Fate: Kent continued to argue with the voice that wasn’t Nabu for a moment.”The JSA Did not last…”” No Kent it did not but the JSA were a family. A group of people most who had no families of their own, or were separated by the war going on at the time. The JSA made up for the lack, but they were not a strike force. “ Kent looked down and he said” I will not guide them to this decision. IF they come to it on their own then Fate will join them.” “As you wish.” The voice silenced.” Nelson shook his head and turned th television off walking into the entrance to the Tower of Fate.” Inza must still be resting.” He moved to the Helmet and placed it on his head. The golden glow covered the room.
The Spectre: The Tower of Fate... a place of powerful magic and home to one of the greatest mages in existence. With the helmet he wore, linking him to a Lord of Order, there were few that could match such power... but there were those that could scoff at such if they so chose. As the glow within the tower room faded, it gave way to only darkness with the good Doctor the only source of light. A green, mist like fog began to sweep across the floor, creeping along to light the room softly in a green, ectoplasmic glow. Out of the darkness, a gigantic, green garbed figure appeared, body hidden by a heavy cloak with a bone white face shadowed by the hood pulled around it. Dark, neon green eyes glowed, devoid of any detail save for the light that shown out of the sockets. "You are playing a great gamble, Kent Nelson. The friendship that I held with your father presses me to warn you of this:... " The voice of the being echoed about the void, deep yet spoken with, would one know the being well,-
The Spectre: conern. "You follow the path to another world... and world ignorant of the truth that hides beneath the veil. Take care when you act, Kent Nelson, or you shall face the wrath..." The being paused. The boy he had watch grow from childhood in the man that he was today. The child of a friend he had promised to look after as best as he could when that friend passed and it truly pained him to admit the actions he would have to follow with were Kent not careful, "... of the Spectre." In the blink of an eye, all returned to normal.
Black Canary: Dinah stood watching the monitors seeing what Alfred was talking about, watching the bright flashes and shakey footage from the cell phones. "Looks like a bad horror movie." Hearing about the t-rex she turned and smirked at Alfred. "It was tempting to bring one home, but they are so hard to paper train, and they would demolish half of Robinson park when they take their walkies." she teased. She sipped her orange juice watching the newscasts, glimpsing at Bruce changing out of the corner of her eye, noticing how dark his bruises were, she was sure hers wasn't any better. Although she had to resort to her cry more than she thought she would have to, no wonder she felt so spent. She looked up realzing she was zoning out, coming to attention as Bruce talked to her. She nodded. "I'll be fine, sorry, just kind of spent from last night." she laughed. "hehe lucky for you my home is my business. save you a trip." (c)
Black Canary: she thought a moment, walking to the lab sink to wash out her orange juice glass, ignoring any instance from alfred that she didn't need to do it.. "Yeah I'll take a ride. I can't really ride my bike home looking like this. We don't need anymore attention it seems." She grinned at Bruce teasing her. "Hehe. Be glad I didn't take a shower last night, I might have fallen asleep with the water running. I'll go ahead and clean up at home. My store has some things it needs attending soon." her meaning ambigious like always. she put her clean glass on a serving tray to go back upstairs. "I'm ready to go back anytime. Thank you both for letting me crash here last night." she smirked at Alfred. "Make sure he eats something." she teased knowingly. (d)
Ollie Queen: He was getting ready to leave when the news switched to someone being stupid enough to literally blow the doors off of Queen Industries. "Oh you have got to be kidding." His phone rang. "Oliver." He answered and subsequently dropped his phone. He growled and ran back into his room, his secret hatch open and bag pulled out and searched for a spare costume "Great, the big guys are out battling the worst bad guys, the little fish come out of the wood work" He would make sure he had a full quiver of arrows, even a few specialties just in case. He would sigh and went to the window, firing an arrow with a rope, taking a page from Batman's play book. "Here we go again" And off he went, swinging to the nearest rooftop and used the many acrobatic skills learned while honing his archery skills to make his way to his company. He was shocked to see the damage "Man that cost me a fortune to have installed" A low grown before he would zip-line down to the ground floor, it took him a bit to get -c-
Ollie Queen: there yes but hey, it gave his guests time to set up the party. "Man...I hope I am in time to cut the party cake." He looked at the wreckage, man this would cost him a fortune to replace... Bow readied and arrow placed perfectly, a little present, high frequency sonic emitter, just because Ollie loves his toys.-d>
Black Manta: Manta looked back to see the emerald archer standing there with his bow readied." And what do you think you're going to do with that?" as he spoke the helmet's red eyes lit up. Making his already deep voice much more monsterous. He turned around opening his hands up, blood dripping from the blades in his hands as he pulls the poison dart from the man's chest in the same motion as spinning." Now that I have that You have my attention. " He flips his blades into a reverse grip." I'm going to skin you...Slow."
Batman: -Bruce picked up the keys to a Chevy camaro, painted with a black body and black tinted windows.- “Sure, come on…” -A wall would open to reveal the camaro within a small compartment that was also an elevator. He opened the driver seat and slipped into the seat. Once Dinah was in he began driving her home.- “So, what do you think of the others? ” -Bruce said as he stiffly steered the wheel to the vehicle, Bruce took notice of kids playing on the sidewalk.- ‘The bottom line. Alfred will be worried about me, I understand completely, despite what anyone….Alfred, Barbara, Dick, or Jim may think I don’t know the risks of doing this, but they refuse to look at the *alternative* to me refusing. Last night could’ve ended better or worse. It was sloppy to say the least, but we saved the *bottom line.* We risk our lives to save others, it’s what we do. We accept that every mission could be our last.’
Superman: Just as soon as he leaned forward to continue working, he heard the sounds of sirens coming from out in the city. A moment was taken as he thought and calculated... Six blocks away. Northwest... His index finger hit the sleep key on his computer and quickly he stood up quickly. Putting a pained look on his face, but an embarrassed smile to go with it, Clark held his stomach and quiclky made his way out and into the bathroom. A quick scan with his x-ray vision let him see it was empty so, in a single second, he was gone and the window opened. Darting up from an alleyway below, a blue and red streak shot through the air, crossing the distance between the Planet and where the sound and been traced in seconds. At half a mile away, Superman assessed what he was flying into. A hostage situation inside a burning building. Firefighters were trying flight the blaze, all the while a man, armed with an extended clip, 9mm Glock handgun. The hostage was a woman, and from the shouts that came
Superman: it seemed like she was either the man's girlfriend or ex. Either way, he wasn't letting her go and seemed perfectly willing to let them both be burned alive. Police had already set up sniper positions, each man waiting for the shot that could end the situation and they could save the woman while a police negotiator tried and tried again to talk the man down. With a narrowed gaze, Superman shot forward. First things first, get the gun away from the man. He's stepped back farther inside, looking to, from what Kal could see, move into the heart of the blaze. Clenching his fists, the Man of Steel burst through a window a floor above where the two were. By the time the male looked up, Superman was on his floor. By the time he registered in his mind that something was happening, Superman was in the room. By the time that he thought to react, Superman had already taken the gun and crushed it into powder with his left hand. Wrapping his arms around both of them, he turned and out of-
Superman: a window they went with Kal using his body as the ram to clear room for them both before he curved around and landed amongst the police. Landing beside the police, he first handed over the man who was immediate cuffed then looked to the woman. "You'll be okay," Kal-El said softly, crystalline blue eyes looking into the woman's, "the paramedics are here and they will take care of you." Placing a hand on her shoulder, Superman stepped back, a smile on his lips, "Now if you'll excuse me," he hovered up into the hair and started towards the building. The woman's eyes followed him, whispering a soft, "Thank you." Fear and shock gripped her and could one truly blame her? A man that she had once let into her heart had held her at gunpoint and almost let her be burned alive. She was hurt in many ways and even she surprised herself at the ability to even speak, even if she doubted that Superman could have heard her. But just as she started to turn, the Man of Steel's voice called back,-
Superman: "Your welcome!" before he turned into a streak of red and blue, circling around the building at speed to create a vacum that sucked the oxygen from the fire while his freeze breath aided in submitting it.
Doctor Fate: Fate looked towards the spectre as it vanished." It is good that I have an excellent pokerface then." Fate walked towards a different room" Opening his hands making the heroes appear before him . Who said he wouldn't atleast give them a push in the direction of atleast speaking on the subject." All of the Heroes who fought the Centre would appear within the room in their costumes so as not to reveal anyone's identities." Welcome to my home."
Black Canary: Before Dinah could answer Bruce or walk towards the Camero she found herself, wearing her boots she had forgotten in the penthouse, she looked about seeing all the other heroes. She turned to Bruce, whispering "I think I would say they are full of surprises." she nods towards Fate. "Hello, thank you for, um bringing us here." she turned to the asssembled group smirking. "And nice to see you all again. Some of you may know me, I'm Black Canary."
Diana was dressed for her appearance today, not wearing her traditional armour but a suit. It was navy, well cut and the skirt came just above the knee. Paired with dark coloured shoes, chosen for their red sole (not for the name attached to the that trademarked look). A plain, white blouse was open at the third button, her collar bones just barely visible at the collar. As usual, Diana wore no make-up; it was unnecessary for her. Her dark hair was pulled into a low ponytail at the nape of her neck. Currently, she was seated at a simple table, with several members of the UN’s security council sitting in front of her. If she had been educated in the US, she might be reminded of being brought in front of a high school principal for a reprimand. Instead, Diana simply sat, straight backed, with her hands folded in front of her as she calmly explained what happened. “You and your friends caused millions, if not billions, of dollars worth of damage,” one of the councilors said, rather indignant and clearly feeling self important. “I am sorry,” she spoke in a measured tone, careful to stay as neutral as possible. “I was under the impression that the countless lives we saved were worth untold volumes of money.” It was a sarcastic, snotty thing to say, but Diana did not feel much like cowtailing to anyone, let alone a group of men who viewed themselves as above the law.
She had become all too familiar with how fast and loose some of her fellow diplomats played with the rules surrounding “Diplomatic Immunity,” and it made her sick. “The United States is calling for...” “I do not work for the United States, Ambassador,” she said curtly. “I represent the Island of Themyscria, and independant state that has been at peace longer than many of your countries have even been around. I shall not be schooled on politics or peace. The force that myself and the other heroes have dispatched was but one event. Should there be more, I would hope that my peers, both heroic and diplomatic, would join me in defense of sovereignty, freedom and peace.”
With that said Diana stood up, offering a polite nod to the members seated in front of her before leaving. She left the same as she had entered, her shoulders squared and her head held high, confident strides leading the way. On the steps of the building reporters had gathered around, eager for more information on what had happened in Florida.
While she was polite, Diana brushed off most of the reporters; she couldn’t answer questions about who many of the other heroes were, and even if she could she would never forcibly out another hero. Certainly, if they were making the choice to hide their face, to use a pseudonym, that was their choice. She understood not everyone’s family could defend themselves the way her own could. “Is this a one time thing?” “Is this the start of a superhero gang?” “Who does your hair?” She smiled and shook her head. “Thank you very much for your interest,” was all she said as she walked through the crowd, parting them as if she were Moses and they were the Red Sea.
Most ambassadors would have armoured cars, security guards and a whole entourage of yes men, assistants, secretaries and hangers on. Diana had none of these. In Diana’s mind there was no need for bullet proof glass so long as she had her bracers on her wrists. They poked out from the bottom of her cuffs. On most days she could walk through New York and feel completely alone, not a soul recognizing her save from a few tourists; it was one of the things about the duality of New York City. It was ugly, that things were so impersonal, but there was a certain beauty to the anonymity offered. Today was one of those days, and Diana was able to blend into a crowd of office workers hustling and bustling on their lunches.
She wondered caught herself wondering about the normalcy around her. What would it be like? To hang up her lasso at the end of an evening, crawl into bed next to a loving partner, to wake up and go to a boring desk job the next morning? It sounded blissfully dull, but it was not her lot in life. She was the Champion of Olympus, Ambassador of Themyscira, charged with spreading the Amazon ideals of peace, love and knowledge throughout the world. As she took to the air, flying back to Gateway City. There was much work to be done; there was always work to be done.
Ollie Queen: "Man and I thought my regulars were nutty." He aimed and fired, yes he missed on purpose but there was a reason. "Dont mind me, I like getting a shot off before the real fun begins. Hands moving to his ears. silently putting flugs in masking it as ficing his hood back. His covered eyes looked at the man, who the hell was he, no one he recognized that was for sure. "Oh and before the fun starts. I got a question, well two. Who are you and how;s your hearing?" Hrinnged a moment pressing a button on the side of his bow, the arrow opening to reveal the emitter which began to let loose the scream of a banshee, happy he had ear plugs and that most of the windows of his building were bullet proof cause that meant it was strong enough to resist sonic vibrations, cause his suit was not glass proof.
Black Manta: Manta felt the sonic vibrations, they didn't do to much to his suit, but his hearing was another story. He quickly pressed a buttom to block out the vibrations. " My suit can withstand pressues at the deepest parts of the ocean, You think a little sound would hurt me for long? Stupid mother fucker." Manta acted, Rushing Green Arrow. Bringing his shin towards the hip of Arrow, and using his reverse blade gripped blades as though they were attached to his elbows attemping to bring his elbow down on Arrow's shoulder."
Ollie Queen: He grunted as the man told him the little factoid. "Noted." He would reach for another arrow and threw himself back, he was lucky to escape the knee but that other attack. He grunted as the blow hit and his costume took some of the, maybe the brunt of the attack. "Hey it costs money to mend these things you know." He noted that he got a decent cut on his chest and growled. "And do you know what it costs to get a doctor to loose paperwork for these things." He would take out a few more arrows. Electrodes were embedded into the tips. "Night night lightbulb." He fired them quickly, he would be lucky if even one hit.
Black Manta: " I don't care much for your quips" Before he is hit with the electrodes. he falls back and His suit smoking." Nice shot...Hate to tell you though. This is a very high tech wetsuit." He points his wrist laucher towards Arrow and "My turn!" firing his own "stun gun" towards the man.
Ollie Queen: He blinked and one eye opened wider then the other. "Just who the hell are you. whoa in comming." He dropped back though he did get hit. A grunt and grit of his teeth as muscles locked up. Fortunately most electric shocks last only a few seconds, then the body begins to relax. "Hard ball huh?" He would take out an arrow, a rather big one. He rolled onto his back and pulled the thing back. "Try this then." He let go and Big Mama flew, the end exploding open for a riot foam filled boxing glove.
Batman: -Batman found himself suddenly standing before Doctor Fate, Black Canary and the other group of heroes. Batman’s eyes blinked for a moment of being stunned and caught off guard by the sudden change. Batman was half tempted to complain about the careless timing of this, but that could wait later.- ‘I should make it clear to him that *we* are not his servants and do not have to answer whenever he calls.’ -Batman’s jaw stiffened and straightened posture as Black Canary spoke, a subtle method of agreeing with her. Batman was notably one of the tallest men in the group, only slightly smaller than Superman while he was taller than Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern. He remained quiet, spectating and observing everyone, watching their movements, subtly he activated his helmets recording device by pressing a button on his wrist console. Blue sapphires were devoid of fear rather filled with a certain determination that would strike terror into his allies and enemies.- <c>
Batman: The Arcane structure and design of the room seems to not bother Batman, the complex shapes of pen rose staircases, space lost in time, and a mystical sense that even Batman could feel. The feeling of order and solitude was something that Batman struggled to feel throughout his life, never has he felt the connection as intimate as this moment where he stood. Thoughts of his past, the most unstable point in his life, seemed completely clear in his mind now more than ever. His attention focused on Doctor Fate as he spoke to apologize for interrupting their lives.-
Superman: Crossing his arms over his chest, Superman's crystalline blue eyes rested on Fate as he explained his reasons for bringing them all here. "He does have a point," he agreed, giving a nod of his head before pausing. The next few words needed to be chosen carefully. Each person here had some time in being a hero and had been wilingly putting their lives on the line to protect people that they did not even know... and with that came egos. Kal was sure his slipped through on occasion and he knew that it was more readily apparent five years ago. "I'm sure we've all had those battles where you felt streatched, maybe even to your breaking point. Where you wished that you had that extra hand there, even if it was just to be sure that everyone made it home. I've fought a lot of things and there's times that I'm reminded that, just like each of you, I'm just one man."
Black Canary: Dinah smirked as the Green Lantern's eyes traced over her, his reaction of her priceless as he quickly ignored the crazyness of the situation to focus on her. "Hey." she mouthed, not wanting to interrupt anyone. She smiled at Bruce's agreement through body language, she knew him far too well. Black Canary looked at Doctor Fate, she couldn't help but wonder what his expressions were as she listened to his voice, although she would never ask a hero about their identity, she held all of them in respect already as fellow fighters and protectors. Her eyebrows rasied in concern and curiosity hearing about other threats. "I know heroes have all teamed up before in the past to help save and protect us all from a threat, my mother has told me stories." as she said this her eyes traced over Wonder Woman. (c)
Black Canary: She remembered sitting in her mother's kitchen right after she found out her mom was Black Canary, asking questions about her adventures, her mother needed some begging before sharing some of the tales, but she had been fascinated hearing about the other heroes. She remembered hearing about the Queen of the Amazons, brave, reverent and hell of a fighter. She smiled at the Amazon Princess, feeling like she could be someone she could relate to, another daughter of a hero and fellow guardian. She smiled nodding at Superman's words, although in her head she couldn't help think that he was the equivelant of at least three men with his strength and indurance. (d)
Green Lantern: "Yeah but this ain't the past," he countered, the Power Ring on his right middle finger glowing as a construct of a post about his height appeared. He leaned against it, mimicking Superman's stance but much more relaxed as one foot crossed over the other. "Big blue might have a point with himself and the rest of you that doesn't apply to all of us." Although he wore a smirk and was playing it off, the truth of the matter was Hal didn't really want to be apart of it. Already at the beck and call of two bosses when they wanted him to be, the Earth one being far more intimidating than the space, and only JUST a few planets across the entire space sector of 2814 that had a few billion sentient lifeforms on them alone was enough. He'd be damned if he just welcomed another boss.
Wonder Woman: "Agreed," she said solidly, nodding in agreement to Superman. "A burden shared is a burden eased," she was as careful with her words as she was with her tone and body language. She relaxed her arms at her side, but did not let her shoulders relax or her chin dip. She would emanate a feeling of control without aggression, or without seeming "closed off" which was an off set of crossing one's arms over one's chest. She had worked as a team, part of an army, as a soldier and as a commander. She knew the roles of leadership well, and understood the need to be wary of those too eager to jump into command. Though a certain amount of respect was due to Superman, he was a valiant hero and quite popular it seemed with the media, it took more than a flashy grin to lead an army. <c>
Wonder Woman: While she had not experienced it first hand, she did remember when her Mother, faced with a hard decision, caused her own heart to break, forsaking her lover, the one true possesser of her heart, for the best of her Amazons. Diana continued to listen, her eyes flicking to Superman, trying to get a read on him; he was... Intriguing. As was the other one, Batman. She could almost smell the tension coming from the black cowled man. Green Lantern comments to the Song Bird, an act that while Diana wasn't surprised she did find it a little much; this was hardly the time or place for that kind of behaviour.
Batman: -Batman’s eyes flicked from Doctor Fate to Wonder Woman and then shifted Superman as Superman began speaking. Once he was done, Batman’s lips parted to speak but, stopped as Green Lantern went to speak, excluding himself from the group; as if he never had a moment of arrogance or self-righteousness. Batman finally spoke with a soft, yet deep voice that would demand attention if not for any other reason, but to pay attention to what he was saying.- “You’re still Human, Lantern. We all protect the same thing. We wear these masks to protect those we care about. We’ve made a choice live with *this* sacrifice. Black Canary and I have already worked together previously. I can attest with Superman that in our line of work…The more allies we have, the better the odds are of saving lives.” -Batman’s jaw stiffened once more while he glanced at Doctor Fate through the corner of his mask, as if suspect a reaction from the blank expression of his gold helmet.-
Doctor Fate: He noted their appearance. How they reacted to being summoned and he said” I assure you time does not move here as it does on Earth, this is a place outside of normal reality. The Tower of Fate is also a safe haven. One cannot find it without knowing where it is located. “ His attention went to Batman, Lantern and Superman first.” I can assure you do not require service, Infact I will not be apart of the discussion you will have here. I summoned you here to speak of forming a team when the world needs it. As you know Evil is drawn to this planet, Be it from aliens, Deities , monsters. Some of the worst ou have not even encounter as of yet. “ He glanced to Diana and Dinah” I know of both of your mothers. I was a child when the JSA was formed, my father was Doctor Fate before me.”
Black Canary: She couldn't help but smile listening to Wonderwoman, no wonder the princess was an ambassador for the UN, she was very politic, but straight forward. She nodded agreeing. She smiled listening to Bruce, they had been a team a number of times, it worked well for them both, she was glad that Bruce was willing to join. Dinah gave a sideways look at the Green Latnern as his body language and tone showed he was'nt eager to join together as a team. She smiled listening to Doctor Fate, so he was the next gernation too. He was interesting, she was still trying to figure things out with him, but knowing magic, she doubt it would follow her normal logic. If he knew their mothers she was sure he knew what he was asking and what this all intailed. she frowned hearing about evil, the kind that was a definite thing, thinking about all kinds that could be drawn here, having never thought of it that way before. (c)
Black Canary: "This isn't the past, but we need to learn it, in order to forward. From that crazyness we saw last night, and from your insight Doctor Fate, it looks like this isn't the last time we are going to see something that threatens us all, if anything it will happen more. I know I don't speak for everyone, and everyone has different responsibilities. But you can all count on me, I'm willing." she hoped she didn't sound l ike she was rushing in, but she knew she could help the world and the others and of course she always welcomed a challenge, she couldn't surpress her smile.
-Batman’s eyes were brought to bear onto Green Lantern, his posture and stance remained almost the opposite. His shoulders remained stout and in attention, his lower lip parted ever so slightly from his upper tier whilst his jaw kept steady and in place. Batman made note of Fate’s words as they reminded me of James Gordon’s first conversations with Batman about ‘escalation’ in crime, apparently things on a “cosmic” scale weren’t much different than the average life of Gotham citizens who dealt with surviving Scarecrow, Two-Face, The Joker, Clayface, Poison ivy, or Killer Croc. Batman had tried to recall of incidents of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, but they were pushed aside as Batman felt a throb of pain in his rib from being struck by a damn dinosaur merely 14 hours ago.-
Doctor Fate: With a slight wave of his hand Batman would be healed from the damage.
Superman: Shaking his head, Superman muttered under his breath, "This isn't getting anywhere..." Taking in a breath, he lowered to the ground and uncrossed his arms. "Listen... We can stand here and talk all day, but we're really not getting anywhere with it. I know things are worsening... I've seen it through my years since I stepped out into the open. I first fought crime and a man gone insane believing he was a hero. The next year... I fought one of my own kind and his subordinates. Armies came after... and with each new time that I've met my next foe not only have they been greater than my last, but they are far worse in their methods and more capable in power. Space if vast and what will come one day will not be something that any one of us can prevent or fight off. We'll need each other, standing side by side to make it. I will not ask any of you to give any more time than you are willing and able to, but I believe that we should have some sort of agreement between us. Egos can't -
Superman: be apart of this. If we have to gather again to face a threat, then they will only suceed in getting innocents, and maybe even ourselves, killed. They have to be put aside and we need to stand together, not as people or individuals, but an ideal. A force for right, justice, and the safety of the people of this world. Those will be days that they look to us and we have to stand as a single, strong, unbreaking unit with the differences we all have pushed aside for what we know needs to be done."
Doctor Fate: Fate listened to Superman, and he nodded." Indeed. " He glanced to the others and he said" Superman is exactly right." Fate crossed his arms and he said" Now the question is can we work together if the world needs us. I am taking a rather large gamble and saying that we can. If all of you are willing."
Black Canary: Black Canary listens as Superman describees his intent, his intent for all them to join as a group. He was worried about egos, she wasn't. At the end of the day all that mattered was that they all tried their best to defend and protect. She nodded and smiled, listening to Fate, a risk worth taking. "I agree and am willing too. This will not be easy for any of us. I know we will fight against impossible odds, and there will be trials around us and within us as a group. But I'm ready for us to stand strong together, to show what this world stands for and believes in, to protect it." her stance unconsciously getting ready for a fight. "I Iook forward to learning, growing, and working with all of you." she smiles. (d)
Green Lantern: Speeches...? Really? Hal closed his eyes and sighed deeply, but as he listened he found himself at least a bit intrigued by everything that Big Blue was saying. He definately knew quite a bit about space and the crazy bastards that flew through it with grand ships and fists pounding their chests while they claimed how they were the rightful ruler of all or whatever flavor of conqueror of the week it was. "A team huh?" he finally said with a slight shrug of his shoulders, "What're we supposed to call ourselves? League of Justice?"
-Batman listened to Superman express his thoughts and soon Doctor Fate spoke Batman’s eye glanced and studied him when Black Canary’s voice spoke next to him. Batman was taking notes, mental calculations and anticipations of what abilities they possessed collectively, Superman alone could topple most Government armies, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman had displayed similar capabilities. Batman and Black Canary brought unique talents of skill that would, most likely, be impossible for the others to perform if they were occupied with creatures far superior than a couple of giant lizards. Batman’s attention turned to Wonder Woman and Flash as they both spoke.-
Flash: “I’m on board with this, no egos.”
Wonder Woman: “As am I.”
-Batman finally stepped forward and said.- “I’m on board. But this ‘League’ needs to be fast acting, we need to strike fast and cut the head of the demon off before it has a chance to grow. Our enemies will *know* our weaknesses, our faults…” <c>
“If we strike, others will follow our example. With us we will bring the full might of justice.” -Batman stood before each of them, speaking to them individually
Wonder Woman: “Why don’t we call ourselves the Justice League?”
-Batman held his ground prepared for any criticism or thoughts on what he just stated.-
Green Lantern: "A team of heroes called the Justice League? Sounds like a bad video game."
Doctor Fate: "....Justice League it is."
