part 1 - The Cycle
~L~ Life is balance, a gift of perfection, tangible beyond comprehension. Life consumes, grows, contributes, and then expires into the natural course of life. Life has one consistent beginning; a seed, a small tiny seed that receives nourishment and grows developing into a system or sentient, regardless of what category it is defined as life. Reptilians and Avian incubate life in eggs, Mammals incubate life within a womb, and floras incubate life within fertile soil. Life is precious; worthy of admiration and respect, to create life is a gift bestowed upon from existence. We do not know why, but we understand purpose. Our purpose to create life, to savor every moment of the cycle because inevitably life comes to a dark end. ~L~
&D& The cycle does not end at life nor does the end arrive in death. Life exists for a duration and will inevitably ascend into death, but the irony is that we do have our own existence in “death” or shall we say “life” for what is the cycle of night and day if neither would end? Bones decay, flesh melts away, blood dries, and our purpose is recycled into the next phase. We accept this condition not because of no other alternative; we accept this because it is necessary for the cycle to be maintained. Death gives cause to realize that every moment is precious and that every moment should be spent on &D&
@};~~{ growth, whether it is personal or for the greater whole that we survive in. Conditions are shared and resources limited, the cycle maintains this for everyone in it. This cycle must be maintained in harmony, this is why destruction to a forest, a massive genocide, a massive growth in population; makes all the difference in the environment and world. If any of these are thrown into a greater or lesser value, the other parts of the cycle would overtake and send the entire system into collapse.}~~;{@
Metropolis City, Metropolis Science and Research center of Biochemistry, 2010……”So, ladies, gentlemen…I want to emphasize how important this research is to our society and culture. My research team is extraordinarily close to reaching an ending but, we need your help. Thank you all for attending, and I hope our presentation was most informative.” Alec Holland stood before a podium and large ballroom full of science most brilliant minds, Lex Luthor had even taken a seat in the front table but, hardly seemed interested in Alec Holland’s research. <c>
Alec stepped off stage where he was approached by a slightly heavy set man with a black beard wrapping around his face, a black pony tail falling down his back. “Hello, Mr. Holland…Dr. Arcane, Anton Arcane. Pleasure to meet you, I was noticing that your team had vacancies within it, I would be very interested in assisting you on this project.” Alec smiled at the man, both exchanging handshakes. “That sounds wonderful. I’m afraid it’s nowhere near as perfect as this place, but our lab is state of the art in Louisiana.” Alec seemed happy and tried to be inspiration as Anton nodded and then replied. “Well not all of us are born with a gift, Alec Holland, but you are special…I can tell these things about people.” <c>
Alec smiled and placed both his hands into his pockets. “Well, I hope you’re right. If this *bio-restorative formula* works, it will restore balance to the world put things back in natures favor.” Anton grinned. “Nothing would mean more to me than having a chance to see *you* work. *succeed* or *fail,* Alec Holland. It will be a pleasure.” Anton grinned while Alec’s gaze fell to Lex Luthor. “He doesn’t care about us…he doesn’t *care* about the fact our planet is *dying.* What kind of monster is he?” Anton placed his hand onto Alec’s shoulder. <c>
“Alec, you have to understand something about *life* it is full of *monsters* but trust me when I tell you. Lex Luthor is not the *worst* of monsters in the world…” Alec’s face wrinkled in disgust looking at Lex Luthor before leaving…

part 2 - A Slow Rot
Louisiana, 2012……Alec stood before the group of scientists and smiled holding a glass of champagne. “Everyone…I want to thank you for making this project such a success. Tonight…over 10 years of research and labor has paid off. Linda and I…” Alec’s hand reached out to his wife as she took his hand smiling at him with pink lips curling into joy. “…We thank you all for helping us and putting in the hours to do this.” Anton raised his glass and spoke out. “To Doctor Alec Holland…May his *life* honor us all and may his *death* prove to not doom this planet.” Anton grinned as the group of seven scientists raised their glasses to ring against each other in ceremony.
It would be midnight; Alec Holland sat in his laboratory staring at the computer screen with five containers containing his newly crafted formula. His eyes were busy staring at his data and information when his heart jumped out of his chest with the sensation of two hands grasping his shoulders, when he heard the voice speak. “Tell me you plan on coming to bed sometime tonight…” Alec’s breath caught up to him and the sound of his wife soothed him. “Lin…You scared me…” She smiled at him as he continued to explain. “I was just looking over the formula….Could you do me a favor? Take these containers into our cabin, please?” Alec took hold of the four of the containers and placed them into a brown satchel and offered it to Linda.
“Babe…I won’t pretend to understand but, what are the effects of this formula?” Alec smirked at the computer screen. “This formula works 250% more efficient than miracle grow. Its results immediately cause plant fertilization, growth, and nutrients intake.” Linda smiled at Alec taking the satchel. “That’s good…Okay, I’ll take these inside…but I want you right *behind* me by the time I get to our bed, Mister.” Alec smiled at her. “I’ll be there in five minutes, love.” Linda leaned into Alec and kissed him on the cheek before walking away.
Linda walked out of the cabin designed laboratory and into the swampy wilderness around them, her slippers clicked against the wooden boardwalk beneath her as she made her way ten meters to large cabin, she wrapped her hands around her sides to shelter exposed arms from the cold draft. Her silk night gown stopped just above her knees, its pink and white gloss made her unique and defined within the dark. She entered into the cabin where she reached to the left and flicked on the lights to the main room but, nothing happened and the cabin remained in a secluded darkness. She huffed and whispered. “James is going to love this.”
She placed her hand against the wall and then approached the staircase placed immediately a couple of feet from the entrance to the cabin. Her and Alec lived here for the past 6 years, they had no reason to fear the darkness here in the swamp, the gators weren’t prone to come around here anyway. Her hand grabbed onto the railing and she started up the staircase where she made a left turn towards her and Alec’s bedroom. She placed the satchel onto a chair before walking towards a drawer to pull out matches. Linda lit one match and leaned her body down towards a candle to illuminate the room with a soft red color. She smiled seeing some light now in front of her, she leaned back and sighed softly.
Her attention turned to see Anton Arcane standing next to her holding a shotgun, her eyes widened and Anton saw those beautiful green eyes struck with anger before suddenly falling into fear. Her hand quickly snatched a jewelry box on her desk so that she could smash it against his face, Anton leaned his head back but, it didn’t matter as the box slashed open his cheek revealing a tear in his flesh suit. “Jesus!” she pleaded before Anton grabbed both of her wrists and bound her body against his. His left eye suddenly grew bigger than his right eye. “Linda…Don’t panic. You only tore my skin. Thankfully you’re here! Because I still need to kill Alec Holland!” Linda would gasp for air as she suddenly tried to scream…
Alec yawned looking at the computer screen, his hand came to his eye to rub away its irritation and then he glanced at his cup of coffee. “Damn…” he mumbled before Linda spoke. “Hey hun…” Alec’s eyes shot wide awake. “Oh! Lin…I’m sorry!” Linda watched as Alec went to stand up but, she grabbed his shoulders with surprising strength and forced him back down into his seat. She brought her body against his and sat down on his lap facing him, wrapping her arms around his neck she leaned closer to his face. “Honey…I’m *dying* over here…” Linda’s hands began to grip into Alec’s shoulders and neck, when Alec forced her off of him by standing up. “Okay! I…I don’t want to get caught here…Listen. I’ll shut down everything and collect my notes, bring them in the house.”
Linda smiled and brushed her hands down his arm. “Alright…Hurry up!” Her hand slammed his buttocks before she walked into another room towards a large container, Linda smirked leaning down to grasp a valve to unlock it causing the restorative chemical to spill onto the floor, she grasped another and caused that container to spill as well. She grinned quickly raced to the gas valve to unleash the toxic fumes into the air. Her hand slipped from her panties a box of matches that she would suddenly try to spark. She exited the building and lit the match before saying. “Good bye, Alec Holland…Last Avatar of The Green!” Linda hurled the match into the door where the gas immediately blew up into a spectacular show blasting the entire research building into pieces.
Alec Holland flew from the flames, his body was burnt, his jaw hung open, as Anton imagined he was screaming before death, however; Anton knew it was instantaneous, there was no possible way Alec could’ve survived the blast considering the proximity. Alec’s body smashed into the marshy swamps where burnt flesh and exposed bone sunk to the bottom. Linda gripped at her face ripping her skin suit off to reveal the true identity of Anton Arcane. The shadows surrounding the fiery display, Anton snuck towards the large cabin that was once home to the Hollands. Anton gripped the very foundation of the building and lifted it from the ground only to slam it against the thick trees shattering the building. “Now is the age of THE ROT!” Anton howled in victory.
part 3 - The Seed of Life
Somewhere in the Amazon Forests of Brazil......A grove of thick and ancient tree so deep within the forest, it has been *centuries* since any *man* has placed eyes upon this sacred grove. Here is where we find the Parliament of Trees, the capital of the natural force on Earth known as The Green.
@};~~{ALL HOPE IS LOST.}~~;{@,
@};~~{OUR GUARDIANS HAVE ALL BEEN SLAIN. ALEC HOLLAND WAS THE LAST OF OUR HOPE.}~~;{@,
@};~~{WE HAD FAITH THAT THE ROT WOULD NOT DISCOVER HIM.}~~;{@,
The various trees argued back and forth, but their astral gaze fell upon the last of their heroic guardians; Swamp Thing stood before them in a thin, frail appearing form, despite the size of this frail creature its voice spoke with a deep husky tone reaped of thick air and a brave growl.
"Hope is not lost...There is *something* we can do."
@};~~{WHAT IS IT THAT YOU PROPOSE? WE CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER, SOON WE WILL ALL BE DEAD AND THE ROT WILL CONSUME THE GREEN AND THE RED.}~~;{@
["Alec Holland is dead..."]
Louisiana, the ruined research center of the Bio-Restorative Formula 2 days following the accident...Weeds and moss coiled and gripped around the bones and scorched flesh of Alec Holland's body, gripping it deeper into the Earthly swamp to consume it.
["but what if we *recreate* who Alec Holland was."]
@};~~{YOU PROPOSE WE REBIRTH ALEC HOLLAND TO HIS STATE PRIOR TO DEATH?}~~;{@
The deep within the swamp the water began to bubble, the disturbance forces an alligator to barrel over and swim to the shore line. A skeletal arm covered in natures pool of decomposition punctured the surface of the water as it reached as high as it could, white sleeves of a laboratory coat wrinkled and fell to the man's shoulder as he pulled his head above water revealing blonde hair and a disgusted face gagging upon swamp water.
@};~~{VERY WELL. WE WILL GRANT ALEC HOLLAND A REBIRTH. HE MUST ANSWER THE CALL. HE MUST FULFILL HIS DESTINY OF BECOMING OUR WARRIOR KING.}~~;{@
["I will meet with him and convince him to take his place as my successor."]
Alec Holland climbed onto the shore of the swamp, gagging and wheezing as his lungs emptied of water. Thick grass, swamp, and waste coiled about his form. He breathed for a moment and then looked to his surroundings to find his research lab, his life's work, his colleagues, and his wife dead amongst flames and ruined wooden cabins. His stomach displayed the first sign of existence as it churned and wrenched him into huddling on the ground. "No...Linda....NOOOO!!!!!!" He screamed. Alec remained lying on the ground for twenty minutes cradling himself, finding himself asking the questions as to what happened. 'My life's work has been destroyed. My wife...My Linda...DESTROYED. Why?'
@};~~{Alec Holland...}~~;{@
The chill of something calls to him, his eyes fall upon the grass and mud clinging to his arms and shoulder. He shivers at the sound of the haunting voice. "You...It's because of YOU!" Alec growled standing up he clutched his fists. "Fuck!" He shouted before dropping to the mud and sobbing, folding his head into his arms drenched in mud and weeds that began to sink into his hair and forehead. He began to shiver once more as the thought of his hard work came to him, all of it was lost. He could've started again, he thought about it until he realized this was sabotage, someone didn't want him to finish his work. Alec wasn't about to believe a Government conspiracy; but he didn't know who would want to stop him. While searching through the wreckage, he stumbled across a burnt satchel instinctively he reached down to pick up the tarnished leather, frail and crumbling with the weight of gravity pressuring it.
@};~~{...help...}~~;{@
Alec would discover the four containers of Bio-restorative formula he had given Linda before the accident. He frowned and clutched the containers. He carried the broken satchel, folding it together to keep it from falling apart as he began assembling supplies that were salvageable. He discovered a shovel and uncovered a couple of bodies but, he became curious...One body was missing, Alec pondered who was missing of the scientists, but maybe they had the answers as to what happened. Alec buried the dead bodies of his colleagues and friends before he began walking to whatever town he could find closest to him.
1 day later...Alec found himself at the police station where he was able to wash up, a Lieutenant came walking through a small wooden gaze that his knees easily pushed the hip level gate open. Alec had exchanged information and explained the entire situation, now Alec had to wait for what would happen next. "Okay Mr. Holland. I filed this with the state but, I can't say we'll be able to find your friend." Alec nodded quietly looking to the ground. Matt sat down next to Alec and leaned closer to him. "Listen, for what it's worth...I don't know what I would do if I lost *my* wife and family...I'd probably resort to more drinking...or at least *full time.* Know what I mean?"
Alec sighed. "I just...don't know where to go from here. My life is gone." Matt nodded. "Look, do you got a place to stay for the night?" Alec looked at Matt and shook his head. "No..." Matt placed his hand on Alec's shoulder. "Why don't you stay at my place with my wife and I? I can get in touch with a friend who might be able to find some work for you." Alec sighed and nodded some at Lieutenant Cable. "Alright...I...I want to thank you for understanding this..." Matt smiled and shook Alec's shoulder. "No problem, Mr. Holland...Let me punch out and we can head home. I'm sure my wife will be glad to have company."

part 4 - New Roots
The police car stopped right in front of the brick house with a wooden porch. Matt slipped out of the car and said. "It's a nice place." The two men approached the front porch where a feminine figure stood by the screen door. Alec's blue eyes caught sight of a red tank top with red short pants clinging to the woman's hips. Her top left her stomach exposed, but there was enough of that long white hair falling down to her fanny that could conceal her exposed flesh. Her voice was comforting and home welcoming, which caught him off guard as it seemed to sink into his spine with the feeling she gave him. "Welcome home, darling...Who's your friend?" Matt approached her and wrapped his arms around her to kiss her lips, her arms wrapped around his shoulders and neck to kiss him. Matt smiled and pulled away to gesture an open hand. "Abby, meet Alec. I offered him to stay the night with us."
Alec would find himself sitting at the dinner table with Abby and Matt eating a steak, Abby giggled as Matt was talking about his day. Alec was smiling to be polite, though he wasn't really in the mood for laughing. "So then, he started singing the song from that video 'Climbing in your windows, snatchin' yo people up...' while we're continuing our search for the other guy." Matt's face would sober from a laugh and he began to look at Alec while Abby shifted her blue gaze to Alec as well. "So, I'm gonna make a few calls, see if I can find some work for you. Until you do, I think you're welcome to stay here." Alec smiled and nodded. "Thank you...Both a lot..." Matt gave a gentle pat to Abby's shoulder. "Why don't you fix up the couch for Alec..." Abby gave a nod and slipped away from the table.
Alec stood up and began collecting the dishes when Matt waved. "Don't worry about them. Abby can clean up." Alec smiled and said. "Don't worry, it's the least I can do. Earn some of my keep around here." Matt gave a nod of approval before walking over to the wall mounted phone to begin dialing. Alec began washing the dishes, his eyes falling upon the sponge and soap bubbles as they began to foam.
@};~~{Alec Holland...}~~;{@
Alec's mind would see himself burst through the building's blast and crash into the swamp, a large splash of water. His gaze suddenly took sight from someplace in his room. Linda was placing the satchel down and lighting a candle when something attacked her. His heart began to pick up as he struggled to see who was wrestling Linda. His mind then showed Linda lighting a match before throwing it into the laboratory.
@};~~{He's coming...}~~;{@
A large creature covered in the shadows would grapple the side of his home and shove it into the bayou while it began to burst into flames. Alec shouted as a burn in his hand caused him to back away. "Gah!" Matt turned to look at Alec. "You alright" Alec breathed and nodded. "Yes...I-uh...cut myself with a knife." "Be careful." Alec sighed leaning against the sink while hanging his head above the faucet. "I'm losing my mind..." Alec mumbled. He would finish cleaning the dishes and then said. "I'm...going to catch some air...I'll be back." Alec stepped outside into the backyard area. His boots clomped against the wooden boards of the staircase until he felt his feet submerge into mud and grass, reminding him of that *swamp* where his life changed forever.
He walked out to look at the plants and trees, the stillness of the scenery. The howl of a willow trees branches cause his attention some as he turned to look at its sagging branches and leaves touching the ground. A voice spoke from behind him causing his attention to turn to her. "Don't like it?" Abby spoke from behind Alec causing him to turn and look at her. "No...It's just distant. It's not like other trees, the willow that is. It seems so *depressed* and missing *life* that thrives in most plants." Alec's eyes sapphire eyes switched to the willow tree, as did Abby's opals did. "I guess that's why I'm fond of it...The sadness as if its mourning the dead perhaps a *doorway* to another world. Why would nature let something like it suffer? Why let it *rot* and not spare it of misery?"
Alec stared at the sad display of the tree. "I'm guessing you're not one for understanding plants...Tell me, Abby. What do you do?" Abby smiled and said. "I'm a good hunter of things. I'm also good at cooking, though Matt will tell you I'm good at *killing* both *meat and vegetables.* " Alec smiled and placed his hands into his pants pockets. "I don't think that's true. That steak was pretty delicious." Abby began walking towards the willow tree and explained. "I never was good at understanding plants but, I guess that's why I like this tree. It doesn't feel like its *alive* like most other trees." Alec quirked an eyebrow while following behind her. "Interesting way of seeing it." Abby stopped and turned to look at him. "Matt says he has a friend who can help you with a job."
Alec smiled turning to look over his shoulder, glaring into the darkness of the trees surrounding them and the Cable house. Abby's hand would grasp Alec's right bicep to squeeze it gently, Alec could've *sworn* it was Linda. He turned and saw Abby studying his muscle. "I know you like *plants and trees* but, Matt has a friend at the lumber yard. Maybe you would-..." Alec nodded to her as her arm fell. "I'll do it...I devoted my life to helping nature and you know what? I'm tired of it. I'm DONE with it. Abby, you don't know much about plants, but let me explain something to you...Plants are selfish, greedy, competitive, and ruthless against everything, including themselves!" Abby frowned some. "I'm sorry you feel that way, Alec." Alec turned away from her and said. "My entire life I felt this *calling.* This sense of *duty* to help save the planet. I became a scientist for god sakes! I supported politicians who tried to help save the environment. And in one fell swoop, I lost *everything!*"
Abby cradled herself, her arms folding in front of her as Alec continued. "And you want to know the strangest part? I don't *feel* that *connection* anymore. Not since the accident. I don't *feel* like me. Like, I'm *someone else.*" Abby placed her hands on Alec's shoulder blades and whispered. "What do you mean?" Alec hesistated as he forced the words out "I can't explain...You'll think I'm crazy." Abby gentle nodded and pulled away before she heard the call of Matt's voice. "You two out there? It's pretty dark out, don't want any *monsters* getting you!"
Abby began to walk away and said towards Alec."Whenever you want to talk...I'm here for you Alec." Alec's jaw tightened as his emotions conflicted. "Thanks..." He said just barely loud enough for Abby to hear him.
North America, The Great Basin Desert......The skeleton of an ox laid across the barren ground slowly the wind began to pick up within the darkness, the skull began to lift when suddenly the ground crumbled and a large skull of a wooly mammoth broke from the ground. Bones began raking across the desert from distances of 100 miles while storms began whispering until the mammoth came to form into a large two legged monstrosity. the Ox skull attached itself to the creatures body latching onto its shoulder as large rib cages attached to the mammoths skeletal mouth as a form of jagged beak. "RISE MINIONS THIS WORLD'S CHAMPIONS WILL KNOW THE NAME OF DEATH. THIS WORLD IS MINE! YOUR KING SETHE DEMANDS SERVITUDE!"
A white van drove across the desert sand, eight men sat in the back seats while two sat in the front, the vehicle bounced and bobbed from the left to the right as it rode over the rugged and unpaved terrain until the vehicle began to feel heavy resistance, wind surrounding the area began to push the vehicle to the left and then right until eventually flipping the vehicle over. The men began panicking, Mexican smugglers and passengers began scrambling to escape the vehicle but as they did so they would hear loud thunderous steps approaching them. Sethe stood approximately 30 feet in height and weighing roughly 3 tons as it approached the Mexican men. <Oh shit!> some screamed as they separated, running in different directions, Sethe would summon a tornado upon three of the men using rocks, sand, and bone within the storm to shred and rip apart the three men.
Two more cowered behind the van, hoping they weren't seen. Sethe simply lifted his large foot and smashed the van and the two men underneath. He took a few steps forward following the remaining 3 men, he held out his hand forcing the previously killed men to summon and assemble their bones into a large scythe and mystical staff. "Rrr-RAAH!!!" Sethe's voice growled while preparing to throw his weapon until finally he flung his weapon across the span of distance between him and the three men suddenly the blade sliced through all three men with magical power. Sethe cackled in laughter before retrieving his staff and summon the bodies into loyal zombies.
part 5 - Survival (Still being written, come back later)
Two days later...Alec heard the voice of a man shouting at him. "ALEC! GET THE CHAINSAW!" Alec quickly reached into the back of a red flatbed truck to pull the black handle grip of a chainsaw. Alec began to rush up the side of the mountain when suddenly a tree began to crackle. Before him the towering mountain of green comes violently to claim his life, a chilling grasp wraps around him and once more his skin doesn't feel like his own as terror fills within him at the visual of the tree growing closer and closer. Alec stopped moving and closed his eyes as he dropped the chainsaw and clutched his fists while preparing for his last moment.
The monster would stand before the hill side to see the avalanche of green tumbling from the ground. In a response never before see within him he leaped the great distance and landed next to Alec Holland to fold his arms around the human, the last hope for the Green rested here. Swamp Thing would leap once again a mere second before the tree came crashing down into a crunching of stone against lumber and leaves.
@};~~{Alec Holland...He's coming...}~~;{@
Alec would find himself wrapped in the arms of a smelling pile of moss and weeds, the large Swamp Thing placed Alec down and spoke. "Alec Holland...I am the Swamp Thing...I have been sent here to request your help. It is urgent." Blue eyes would scan over the green monster that had just saved his life as Alec reluctantly replied. "Alright...make it quick." The Swamp Thing would explain. "Alec...you are the only hope for this planet. I am growing weaker and I am unable to perform my duties any longer. I have remained guardian of this planet two decades longer than I can maintain. You are my successor, I have been holding this position for you to flourish and take up this mantle. You were destined for this mantle, Alec Holland." The Swamp Thing stood before the man allowing his arms to slump down by its sides its head sloped low in a droopy fashion and still the creature stood almost ten feet tall towering over Alec.
The Swamp creature continued to explain. "You were gifted and chose to use that gift wisely, you will be a great Warrior of the Green...Unlike me...I too was like you. My whole life would feel this connection to the forest, the leaves communicating to me...It frightened me, it had pushed away those who loved me...You see, my family wasn't understanding of *Green* or *Red* or *Gray* they only knew of an Axis power in Europe. An opportunity I took to become a pilot to escape *the Green* I was afraid of the plants as they spoke to me, reaching to touch me...I was shot down in France, where I crashed into a *swamp* and began my new life. I resented my duty at first, but I did as the Green commanded. I would come to realize that I have had this mantle as a place holder, the Green has been waiting for you, Alec Holland. You are to be not just a warrior, you are to be the King of the Green a powerful position within nature."
Alec growled and scoffed at the creature. "Listen, I don't care about your whole "Green" bullshit. Saving the planet? I'm DONE with that motive. You can go and ROT in hell for all I care. It's because of YOU that I've lost my life that I've lost EVERYTHNIG. My wife, my friends, my LIFE! If you know what its like then maybe you'll understand that I want to be left alone and not care about your GREEN bullshit!"
The Swamp Thing would frown at Alec and then say. "Alec listen to my final words...If you change your mind...I will be here. And your friend...Abigail. Stay away from her." Alec would furrow his eyebrows and shout at the monster. "YOU STAY AWAY FROM HER OR I SWEAR-..." The monster would blink for a moment and gently turn to walk deep into the woods.
