This Superman is mainly based on the Animated series along with the JLA series. I shall also borrow from new 52.
Nickname: Liam
Actor: Henry Cavill
Name: Superman
Alter Ego: Clark Joseph Kent [Earth Name]
Kal-El [Kryptonian Name]
Race: Kryptonian
Age: 20's
Alignment: Lawfully good
Height: 6 feet, 3 inches
Weight: 225 pounds
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Physique: Athletic, Muscular
Training: Martial Arts, Boxing, Kryptonian Martial arts.
Description
Appearance: Clark Kent usually wears a simple suit along with a hat and glasses. But as Superman he wears a full blue outfit along with a red cape, boots, yellow belt, and a shield in the middle of his chest with the letter "S" in red along with the same shield on his back but yellow.
Personality: Clark Kent is a simple kid. He was raised on a farm and taught good morals in life, he is generous, kind, loving and caring and always has the need to protect. As Superman he shares the exact same traits only even more heroic. As Clark he tends to be a little silly bit this is all part of his disguise so others do not catch on to him being Superman.
In roleplay, I tend to give Superman a lot of moral conflicting moments. A lot of the time he will question why on earth he decided to become Superman.
Occupation: Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter, columnist and (one-time) Foreign Correspondent for the Daily Planet newspaper; adventurer as the superhero Superman, writer of four novels
Powers and Abilities
Strength - although varying depending on his energy levels, Clark is among the strongest superheroes on Earth, capable of lifting a plane.
Flight - able to defy gravity, possibly through sheer force of will.
Invulnerability - years of exposure to yellow solar energy have caused Clark's Kryptonian body to become almost indestructible. His natural bio-electric aura also has limited force field properties protecting items near his skin e.g. his costume. His cape is not protected by his aura.
Clark can survive in outer space as long as he has a breathing apparatus, and doesn't lose too much solar energy. Without an air supply, Superman can last between an hour and ninety minutes in space or underwater, after taking a deep breath. Using his powers of flight and super-speed Clark can travel inter-planetary distances by himself. Interstellar distances require assistance e.g. a spaceship, teleportation belt.
Super-speed - capable of superhuman speed, Clark can fly from Metropolis to have dinner with Lois Lane in Paris, France, or in a few minutes fly to the Moon.
Super-breath - Clark's invulnerability and strength exist internally too, affecting his skeleton and internal organs. After inhaling deeply he can expel the air in a gale-force wind. Superman is also able to chill his breath in order to freeze a target (this latter ability has also been called "freeze breath" and "arctic breath").
Super-hearing - Capable of blocking out and discerning a single known voice within a city.
Vision - Clark can detect electromagnetic energy in more than the normal visible spectrum:
X-Ray vision - lead appears opaque
IR vision
Microscopic
Telescopic
Heat Vision - additionally, Clark can release solar energy in the form of Heat Vision as a weapon.
Weakness:
Magic
Superman is still a mortal and is, as such, still as vulnerable to the workings of magic, in all its forms, as anyone else. Wonder Woman's Tiara is magical and can therefore be used to injure Superman, for he is susceptible to magic.
In the new 52 (Action Comics #23), it is said that "magic is something that often counters Superman's natural abilities" and that "spells often trump the difference between red and yellow suns that are the source of his powers".
A chunk of Kryptonite
When Krypton exploded, its fragments crossed through a radiation belt that irradiated them, making the rocks extremely toxic to anyone with Kryptonian physiology, but mostly harmless to anyone else. The mineral causes Superman to lose his powers and experience extraordinary pain and eventually death. If from suffering Kryptonite poisoning, he can recover if he gets away from the Kryptonite and exposes himself to yellow sun radiation, thus fueling his healing factor. Kryptonite has been known to cause harm such as cancer to humans after prolonged exposure to its radiation. (Most notably, Lex Luthor who had to have his hand amputated after wearing a kryptonite ring for an extended period of time during John Byrne's rebiit of Superman after Crisis of the Infinite Earths.) There are several types of Kryptonite and all have different effects on him. In New 52 appearances, the Kryptonite is again referred to as being rare, is shown that can be used as an energy source . The mineral doesn't take away the Superman's powers, but is able to decrease it . It is unknown if has effects on humans.
Physical Exertion
In his Pre-52 appearances, there have been instances when Superman has had to physically exert himself for extended periods of time. Due to this, his body has little time to rest and recover and thus fails to absorb a sufficient amount of solar energy to continuously power his body. The best example of this was when Superman fought Doomsday which lead to his death. It is unknown if this still affects Superman in the New 52, but as of yet, Superman has never been forced to physically exert himself and considering his powers still stem from solar absorption, it's safe to assume that it's still possible.
Lead
Superman cannot see through lead.
Red Sun Radiation
Superman is weakened when exposed to red solar energy similar to that of his home planet's sun, Rao. Superman will lose his Kryptonian abilities when exposed to red sun energy and must be recharged by yellow sun energy in order to regain them.
Romantic Interests:
Wonder-Woman: Wonder-Woman is a close friend and Justice League member. In the new 52 the two bond through both feeling alone in the world.
Lois Lane: Lois is a reporter for the Daily Planet. Her and Clark have been together for many, many years and she is one of the only people to ever find out about his Superman identity. In the new 52 these two are currently not dating/
Lana: Lana was an old high school sweet heart.
Known Relatives: Jor-El [Kryptonian father, deceased] Jor-El didn't have much to do with Clark growing up. But once Clark found out about who he is Jor-El acted like a Mentor for young Clark
Lara [Kryptonian mother, deceased]
Jonathan Kent [adoptive father] Jonathan Kent is Clark's adoptive Father. Unfortunately, he past away due to natural causes.
Martha Kent [adoptive mother] Martha Kent is Clark's adoptive Mother. Martha is very independent and resourceful, she also loves to help people which has obviously rubbed off on Clark
Origin:Superman's story tells of his birth as Kal-El to renowned scientist Jor-El and his wife Lara on the alien planet Krypton. When Jor-El discovers that the planet is going to explode, he puts Kal-El in a spaceship heading to the planet Earth, which crashes in a field in the state of Kansas.
The ship and its occupant are found by Jonathan and Martha Kent, a farming family, who take him in as their own. As he grows, so do his strength and his strange and awesome abilities, fueled by Earth's yellow sun. As an adult, he moves to the bustling City of Tomorrow, Metropolis, becoming a field reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper, and donning the identity of Superman.
Role play Application: It was sunset and a cool breeze swept through the graveyard that day. Clark would stand in front of his Fathers grave, paying his respects whilst using the time to think things over. Clark was barley given the opportunity to do something like this, mainly because of his job as Clark Kent from the Daily Planet and Superman. Clark would take this precious time to think about past decisions...mainly being Superman. "Is it really worth all of his?" Clark wondered ""I can hear them all...thousands of voices crying out for help, for a savior. The voices never stop..it is always their in the back of my mind and no matter what I do I can never get rid of it. No matter how many I save their is always someone else in danger...What is the point of being a Superman if I cannot save everyone? Many would think I am crazy...I owe nothing to these people yet hear I am, constantly helping them get by"
Clark would place his hands in the two front pockets of his jacket, feeling guilty for feeling this way in front of his Fathers grave sight "Father, I wish I had your guidance right now..." Clark would take a few steps forward before placing his right hand on the top of his Fathers grave stone "I know you were never my real Father. But none of that matters to me, right now I just wish you could tell me what to do with myself...I've won so much and am admired by millions but yet...I feel like I have achieved nothing in my life, I still feel as if their is something greater out there for me. Call me selfish...but I just cannot let go of this feeling.
A small frown would appear on Clark's face as all these thoughts ran through his head. He truly was lost right now and never has he felt so lost before "Maybe I'm just suppose to live my life like this...giving my time to save and help as many as possible, I know your proud of me Dad..you always have been" Clark would take this moment to look up at what was left of the sun "I know I will always be Superman....no matter how hard I try to throw it away or prove to myself that I am something more...I will always be him, sometimes it is because I want to be. Other times it is because I have to be...but most the time, it is because you would want me to be..." Clark would slowly remove his hand from the grave stone before slowly placing it back into his right pocket.
Clark then turns around and begins walking away from his fathers grave "I love you dad...." He would whisper before taking off into the sky, leaving behind a small crater.
Role play application: The large figure emerged from the giant crater it had created on the road, the beast stepped out onto the road to face Superman. A sweat drop ran down Clark's face as he looked up at the very large beast who seemed to want to do nothing but destroy Clark and everyone else in the city. As the beast began walking towards Clark his fear would begin to grow, not just fear of his own safety but mainly the people around the area and over all his beloved city of Metropolis.
Clark would spread his feet apart as he clenched his fists...waiting for the beast to strike. At that moment, the Beast would charge at Superman. Large foot prints would stomp into the road as people dived out of the way, Clark swallowed down as much fear as possible before hovering up into the air and charging straight at the Beast with his fists held out. Once Clark was close enough to the Beast he would quickly slam both his fists into Clark's back, immediately smashing Clark into the road and breaking any chance that Clark had to attack the Monster.
The Beast would roar loudly at Clark before slamming his foot into his back "ARGH!!!..." Clark's whole body would tense up due to the amount of pain he was feeling....never in his life had he felt such a pain like this. The Beast would then remove his foot before grabbing onto Clark's cape and lifting him in the air "...." He would examine the nearly unconscious Clark before throwing him a great distance in the air. Clark would slam into a nearby shop window before banging against the counter "Y-You okay Superman!?" The Shop keeper asked as Clark slowly rose up "I-I'm fine....now get out of here before you get hurt!" Clark would walk out of the shop in pain, he then looks down the road he was thrown across to find the Beast had picked up a large Van with a family inside.
"God no...." Clark whispered to himself before the Van was hurled at him "NOOO!" He would shot out before hovering in the air and flying straight at the van. Luckily he was able to catch it mid flight before gently hovering back down and putting the Van down onto the road. He would then rip the car door open "Get your family out of here now, It's not safe!" He demanded before jumping over the Van and landing on the other side to face the Monster while the family made their way out. Clark would take the time to quickly scan the area before looking back at the Monster "If the fight continues here, who knows how many will be caught up in it...I can't allow people to die because I wasn't thinking right"
"I'm not going to let you put anyone else in danger!" He shouts out to the Beast. The Beast simply roars back at Clark before sprinting at him yet again. Clark would yet again fly straight towards the Monster, but this time he would fire a quick but powerful burst of Heat Vision to throw the Monster off. The Beast would try to use his arm to black the Heat Vision but the attempt fails, Clark is then able to spear tackle the Monster and swoop him off the ground, up into the sky.
"I've got you now!" Clark shouts out before pushing the Monster off of him and throwing a few fast but powerful punches, one punch would strike the Beast in the left side of the jaw while the other would hit him square in the nose. Clark would then grab the Beast by the arm and being spinning him around at super speed. Once Clark thought he was spinning at a reasonable speed he would then let go of the Beast and send him off towards the Ocean.
