Basic Information
Player Nickname: Ralph
Do you want other role players to give you feed back? Yes
Which DCU Earth are you applying to?: Earth 1/Earth-2
Character Origin: Comics
Face Claim's Name: Dennis Leary
Name: Ralph Dibny
Alias: The Elongated Man
Race: Human
Age: Mid-40's
Birthday: March 17
Alignment: Good
Height: Variable. Default 6'2"
Weight: Variable. Default 178 Ibs
Hair: Ginger
Eyes: Blue
Physique: Even before he gained his powers, Ralph had always cut a tall, slim figure with an almost comical look to his expressions. His face is very expressive and it's easy to gleam his emotions from it, although it is prudent to take such signs with a pinch of salt, for he could just as easily lead many to believe what he is thinking with his facial expressions, only to surprise them with his skill at acting. He is lanky but has toned, well-developed muscles from years of brawling bad guys, and is almost always seen with a smile.
Training: Ralph is trained in several basic martial arts with the help of heroes such as Wildcat, and utilizes his own specialized fighting style that uses his elastic body to it's fullest capabilities, shaping his body into offensive or defensive forms on the fly. He is fluent in French, English, and several other languages, and holds a PhD in Forensics and Psychology. He is a skilled chemist and known as one of the world's greatest detectives, rumored to in fact be the second-best detective in the world.
Equipment: Ralph typically does not carry any equipment on him due to the versatile nature of his body, although his suit itself is designed with the usage of "unstable molecules", a design created by Mister Terrific which would stretch and endure the vigorous transformations of Ralph's body, no matter how far he stretched.
Powers / Abilities
(List as many as you need)
Elasticity - Ralph Dibny has the ability to stretch and mold his body to his whim as a result of engineering and consuming a serum made out of an indian plant known as Gingold. He has complete control over the molecules of his body and can stretch up to at least five miles in any direction before he begins to feel physical pain. He is capable of projecting from any point of his body, making him a dangerous foe as he can even form his fists into maces or hammers, or even form spikes from his body. He is also capable of molding his eyes to see better, enlarge his lungs to hold in his breath for longer, even shorten the synapses in his brain to allow him to think at speeds much faster than humans.
Enhanced Durability - "I'm rubber, you're glue" has never been so true as it is with the Elongated Man. He is seemingly impervious to bullets as they simply bounce right off of him, and even bladed objects can bounce off of him if he concentrates, and he has taken blows from superhumans and survived.
Master Detective - Ralph Dibny is one of the world's greatest detective, arguably the second best in all of DCU, and has a love for mysteries like no other. Along with his wife, Sue Dibny, the duo have solved some of the world's most mysterious capers, and show no sign of stopping.
Olfactory Awareness - Or in layman's terms, "a nose for trouble." Ralph has displayed time and time again that he can "Smell" when something bad is about to happen, and it's an intuition that never proves wrong.
Weaknesses
(List as many as you need)
Temperature Extremes - High or low temperatures hold the potential to slow or even melt Elongated Man, disrupting his elasticity. His suit can normally fend off most attacks like this, but a blast from Mr. Freeze's gun or a fireball from the likes of Atomic Skull are enough to weaken him.
Sue Dibny - Both his greatest strength and greatest weakness, Sue is his life. Without her, he simply falls apart. And so, it is common that she gets threatened frequently. Although it should be noted that she can take care of herself well, knowing many martial arts and being just as good of a detective as her husband.
Elastic Limitations - Unlike Plastic Man, Ralph has limitations to his elasticity. He can only stretch five miles before feeling pain, and his limit is about eight miles before he risks snapping apart. He cannot create holes in his body like Plastic Man, or shapeshift his entire form to disguise himself.

"You know, honey, your face will freeze if you keep doing that." Sue said with a smile as she leaned on the doorframe of the bathroom, her husband's mouth currently wide open and stretched like a old honey-comb's mascot as he inspects the finer workings of his teeth with a brush. Wouldn't be professional to enter a crime-scene with bad breath. "Raws jus shupperschtition." He closed his mouth, bulging his cheeks out like a mutant chipmunk before spitting out the foam into the sink before returning a gleaming smile to the love of his life. "That's just superstition, darling! Speaking of superstition, got that file on the Werner case? I've heard of a lot of things in my day, but a haunted elevator shaft sounds like a bad horror movie, and I don't mean the kind where there's a giant mechanical shark at the end." He chuckled as he took one long step and ended up in the kitchen as Sue laid out a plate of toast and a file underneath. "James Werner, a big hot-shot with software who has a habit of having lots of heirs. You think this might be an old-fashioned patricide, honey?" Sue asked as her husband's eyes popped right out of his head and checked over the finer workings of his wife's thig...fine work on organizing this altogether. "Well honey-buns, guess we'll figure that out once I get over to the scene." He said through a mouthful of toast, one foot already going out the window of his apartment followed by the rest of his body but for his head. "It's on the 40th floor, sweetie. Promise you won't exert yourself?' 'I can't promise a thing but my love for you. Bring you some souvenirs!" He shouted out as he disappeared out the window. Only for his head to pop right back in and plant a kiss on her cheek before snapping back to his body like a rubberband.
Later, at the crime scene.
A foot appeared in the window, only to be followed by the rest of the purple-clad private detective, his hand slowly bringing down the window as he prepared to strut into the scene....only to fall flat on his face like a pancake, his head doing a 180 with a frown before he saw the culprit of his clumsiness, his foot still stuck in the window frame! Placing his thumb in his mouth and closing his eyes, his cheeks puffed up as his foot flattened itself like a old tube of toothpaste as it slithered through the frame before popping back to place. With a turn of his head, he surveyed the crime scene before him as he puffed up the top of his head like a cap of sorts as the ol' synapses got to firing. The elevator doors were open, crime scene tape covering the entrance, and the shoeprints of one man was right in front of the entrance to a long drop to first floor, express speed. It almost looked like a cut-and-dry suicide, or just damnedable clumsiness, there was absolutely no sign of anyone else in the room! Which....there was the suspicious thing. This was one of the busiest floors in the whole Werner building, so how could there be nobody here, not even a janitor or a overworked intern? He could feel his nose twitching as he rubbed his chin. Something definitely fishy was going on, and he didn't mean the tuna-fish sandwich his wife packed him. And then it hit him, like a draft. In fact....exactly like a warm draft, as he stood over a certain spot on the carpeted floor. Bending down as his eye enlarged like a magnifying glass, two fingers extending and curling like tweezers as he plucked at a spot of carpet, a -singed- spot of carpet. "Well now, what do we have here? Seems to me our little mystery ghost is a nightmare for insulation." He hummed as he held it up to his schnozz, sniffing it once before wincing and tilting his head away. "Whoo! I can recognize that scent anywhere. Phosphorus! And wait, what's this?" He plucked up another piece of something singed. Rubber! Looked like it came from a boot. Perhaps....a boot belonging to an insulation suit to prevent little singed spots like this! "Hmm. Call me a monkey's uncle, but it looks like this "ghost" of ours has a bit of a....fiery temper." He chuckled to himself as he stretched himself out the window, preparing to take his samples to his lab. But inside the Werner building, a closet opened up as a heavy boot thudded down, leading up to an old astronaut uniform, it's helm dark before it lighted up slowly with a faint glow from within before blazing into a hideous, fiery skull, the pits of it's eyes blazing with hatred as it flicked a phone out from a insulated pocket. "The contract is done. Your father is dead. I expect my payment." A altered voice spoke afterwards, it's intentions cold and business-like. "Do not worry, you will get what was agreed upon. However, there is a new offer. Kill the nosy investigator, and do it quietly, and you will receive another five million. However, don't make it painless. I'm sure you can live up to that though, can't you.....Doctor Phosphorus?"
