Justice League: Perchance of Salvation
Episode 3
Plot Description: When Justice League members are transported to an alternate universe where the Justice League has never been formed Earth is taken over by a powerful and oppressive army. Lex Luthor seeks out the help of a Justice League from another timeline. The disappearance of a few League members causes an investigation to locate the missing members.
Heroes: Batman, Black Canary, Raven, Superman, Vixen, Wonder Woman, Starfire, Green Lantern
Villains: Lex Luthor (AU), Lex Luthor, Koranathakant
The dark room sparked to live as gears and engines began to rev, machines assembled crudely with what resources and scraps were to spare. “Doctor Hamilton, are you ready?” Spoke a man with concern weighing in his tone. Across the room, Doctor Hamilton wore a white dress coat tainted with the colors of ash, oil, and grease. He was an aged man with gray shades within his dark brown hair and beard. Oval glasses upon his face. “Just a second, Lex…Soon we’ll be operational and online. Prepare the locator beacon amplifier.” Lex Luthor stood grasping the controls of a damaged power station, flipping switches and honing the signals he would comment. “…I got something, I think I got something.” Lex knew they only had four or five shots at making this work, to teleport the most powerful weapon in all of creation into this secret hideout. “I think I got it!...” Hamilton turned to look towards a round platform, enclosed within a chamber as the beam of light began to appear…
Gotham City, machine gun bullets riddled the area as Batman leapt and tumbled to dodge, bullets scraped and reflected off his armor. The lanky man wielding machineguns grinned with anger; failure at the hand of a costumed vigilante was all the assassin could see. Tally Man leapt around the corner to see Batman’s cape turning another leading to a dead end. “Come Batman! Everyone must pay the TALLY MAN!” Batman stopped in the alley and looked around, spotting a flag pole 10 feet up, he leapt and grabbed it to swing his legs up while dropping a sound emitter onto the ground. A demonic voice spoke as Batman’s red eyes searched for Tally Man. “You fool…I AM BATMAN! I am the GUARDIAN of this city. VANQUISHER of EVIL scum like YOU. It is YOU who will do penance for your transgressions!” It was then Batman saw a flash of energy and light...(e)
Black Canary: The blonde was grinning as she dodged a strike from her opponent, giving a roll across the mat in the WatchTower's training room, landing on her feet. She had her fists up in a classic boxing stance as she circled the dark haired woman. Her eyes were lit up, obviously enjoying a little sparring with her friend. "Now, don't you go easy on me." she smirks. "You know I can tell when you do." Sure, she didn't have the speed or strength of the Amazon Princess, but hell she could take a punch and was a great fighter too! so much more than some of the heavy hitters, who just used strength, she had grace and skill too! Black Canary dashed in with a right hook, but suddenly went down sliding between the amazon's legs, arms out to clothesline her and grab onto those ankles to give them a twist if she could.
Raven: What was she doing here again? It had been…a few weeks at most, right? Raven’s royal purple eyes scanned the area before her. Black Canary and Black Canary’s friend, Wonder Woman, were sparring against each other. She wasn’t sure whether this was entertaining, inspirational, or knowledgeable. She kept seeing the same patterns over and over again. Moving her hands slightly, she looked down at the opened pages of 66 and 67. She was depth within a book while staring at the two females. Deciding that ten minutes of watching was enough, she started to read again about ancient spells. A few things she knew right off the bat, but others? She had forgotten and was trying to freshen up her memory. It was always good to know the minor spells that weren’t used in battle for they would probably be used later on. She highly believed in that and the famous quote “Knowledge is power.” Turning the page, she brought her knees up, which were together, and hid her face behind the book. She had been -c-
Raven: staring at the women far too long and knew that Black Canary would probably ask her to join the martial arts sparring. No, no thank you. This book was enough knowledge for one day. -d-
Wonder Woman: "I do not think the Amazons know how to go easy in a spar," she said with a chuckle, ignoring the signs from her opponent that she was ready. Never the less, the attack didn't catch her off guard. Artemis, the most fierce warrior second only to Diana and the Queen, the later who was not the warrior she used to be, had taken it upon herself that Diana never let herself get soft, that she didn't feel her birth ranked her any higher than any of her sisters. As far as teaching plans went, it was pretty successful.. Diana deeked to her right, taking the hit, but letting it glance off her forearm and throw Dinah to the left, her body turning to go with the motion. The Amazon smiled and reached for the blonde's wrist; if she was able to get the purchase, she would turn her back to Dinah, throwing her weight, alogn with that of the other woman, forward. Naturally, Diana didn't use her full strength. Dinah had made her promise not to go easy on her, but Diana hadn't exactly agreed to it, -c-
Wonder Woman: and thus wasn't lying. -e-
Wonder Woman, Black Canary, and Raven would be caught in a large flash of light blinding each of them before finding themselves in a chamber next to each other and Batman - the new one. The area was unfamiliar but the chamber door would open and reveal a bald man wearing a silver shaded chest piece and a sword by his side. “Hamilton! Look what happened!” Doctor Hamilton arrived and they looked to the Superheroes and spoke in disbelief. “My god…what…who…Who are you people?” Lex Luthor looked at Wonder Woman particularly and spoke in his usual condescending tone. “They’re dressed for a costume party…Looks like we missed our intended target. We must try again. You four clear out of the way. We’re trying to save the world and you’re in our way.”
Raven: As the light was starting to shine, Raven’s eyes looked up to what it was. However, she didn’t have enough time to react, much less think of the possibilities of what the light was. Once she noticed that they were elsewhere, she made the book disappear with her magic, making it go to her room in Titans Tower. Slowly standing up, she grabbed the back of her blue hood and draped it over her head. She stared at the man in front of him yapping away. The face seemed familiar, but it wasn’t until Black Canary said the name that it clicked. Staying behind, Raven’s eyes scanned the room for anything foreign. She then turned her attention to Black Canary and Wonder Woman, awaiting their orders on what to do next. -d-
Wonder Woman: Reacting a split second before the other two, her senses honed by Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, and finely tuned to the changing of states. Her reaction saw the Amazon pull her friend back and put herself between the form that was beginning to materialize. Her eyebrows raised as her vision cleared, the dark shapes that had started in the blinding light starting to take form, though she didn't necessarily look shocked so much as she was... curious was the right word. Their surroundings had changed, and to the side she could see Batman, though she didn't dare turn her head, merely taking it in with her peripheral vision. The dark shadow around an opening had blackened further and she watched as it opened and a bald man, eventually accompanied by a man with glasses, stepped into view. Dinah got the first verbal volley in, but it didn't stop the normally gentle Amazon from bristling at the presence of Lex Luthor. -c-
Wonder Woman: Blue eyes narrowed and she reaffirmed her position between Luthor, his aide, and the other three. "Some how, I highly doubt your motivations are entirely philantrophic, Mister Luthor," she kept the gap between herself and the opening, but never let her eyes falter from the Machiavellian Mastermind. She had experienced far too much of the billionaire's schemes to "save the world" which looked just a little too much like a one man global dictatorship for the Amazon's liking. -e-
Lex Luthor didn’t seem amused by Wonder Woman or Black Canary and waved a dismissive hand. “Your choice…Remain in the chamber and find yourselves vaporized by the micron particle beam or…you can step out here where you will be safer. We do *not* have a lot of time, any moment Red Legion will be arriving and any hope for saving humanity will die with us in this room! If it is impairative for you to know, we’re going to attempt teleporting a Hellspore from Apokolips onto the Red Legion mothership and destroy Monoloth’s command center.” Batman took this moment as an indicator to step out of the teleporter and look around the area. Batman looked to the Justice League and spoke. “No sense dying at the hand of Lex Luthor.” Batman’s voice was demonic, monstrous, Luthor would glance. “You sound like one of the Red Legion’s soldiers.” <c>
The Dark Avenger’s red eyes narrowed. “I am a Crusader. I follow my own rules, not those of an army or legion.” Doctor Hamilton would look to Lex and gesture to the heroes. “Lex, I think we made a mistake…They aren’t from Earth…They seem like…they’re from a different planet. Perhaps they’re from New Genesis?” “Perhaps you’re right, Doctor.”
Black Canary: Dinah noted how the amazon's quick reaction ended up with Diana in front of her protectively, but that didn't stop her from speaking her mind or ready to fight. If it had been one of the other heroes she would have let them have a verbal lashing later for trying to protect her. But, she knew Diana took protecting her friends and anyone else seriously. Besides everyone in this room were some of the best fighters they had. She hadn't had a chance to talk with the new Batman much yet, part of her still wished it was Bruce, although she did deliver him some of her own flowers and chatted with him still, also to make sure he was resting. She smirked, nearly feeling the tension of Diana in front of her as she recognized Luthor. Dinah rolled her eye's at Lex's dismissiveness and gave a little shrug as Batman did have a point. The voice distoring thing still seemed weird to her though. She followed him out to join Lex and the researcher. <c>
Black Canary: She gave both men a look, surely Lex knew who they were... unles... "We have fought those from apokolips before, but I don't know of this red legion." she looked at the others to see if they had any idea of what they were talking about. She went up to the researcher. "Actually we are from earth, but maybe from a different time or dimension or something. We're from the Justice League, you know saving the day and such." she smirked. <d>
Wonder Woman: Her eyes cut to Batman before looking back at Lex and his counter part, while she was disinclined to agree with what Luthor had to say on a very basic level, she couldn't deny that there was something was different about the "Dark Knight" at the moment. Her brow furrowed and she listened to Dinah speak, wise as she was Diana had to admit that the blonde was more of a detective than Diana ever would be, leaving her to wonder where the paradigm about dumb blondes came from. Nodding, though not affecting Dinah's laizze faire attitude and smirk, the Amazon, easily the most recognizable after Batman, with a "look" that hadn't much changed since her Mother wore the armour during WWII, tilted her head to the side. Did he really not know who they were? Of course, these questions could wait until her friends, and Luthor and his aide, were no longer in immediate danger. "If you truly are trying to save the world, Luthor, the Justice League will help in any way we can," she said. -c-
Wonder Woman: She had made worse allies from the God of War and the Underworld in the past and was a firm believer in the saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend. With that in mind, Diana stepped forward, as if to show trust, exiting the Chamber, turning to wait for teh other two women and the not-quite Batman to follow her. if she was really so inclined, there was always a sure fire way to tell if Lex was lying or not. Though she had been warned on many occasions not to use the Lasso for trivial matters, Diana rationalized that even though Lex was a habitual liar, for the fate of the world it wouldn't be "trivial."-e-
Hamilton would question “What’s the Justice League?” Luthor rolled his eyes. “If you want to help, go to engineering and-…Oh no! We got company! Red Legion tracked our signal!” It was then the teleporter opened a red gateway and five red skinned demons leapt through armed with spears and fiery swords. Their speed was fast for Black Canary, but Wonder Woman, Raven, and Batman seemed quick enough to react if they were inclined. Batman wasted no words and grabbed the first demon that charged at him by their weapon and struggled with them, their strengths evenly matched until the demon began to force more of its strength, enough to kick Batman across the room. Two demons would charge at Wonder Woman and Black Canary, large fangs and demonic sigils across their skin. The two remaining demons charged at Raven and Lex Luthor. Swiftly Lex armed his sword causing it to shine a bright silver color before slashing it with magical properties causing the demon soldier to turn into ashe.
Black Canary: Although shhe didn't have the natural reflexes to be proactive as a group of demons appeared. Demons?! what the hell? actually that might be more accurate than she wanted to admit. She saw batman dash to meet one head on and from the corner of her eye lex pulling out a sword. She didn't have a chance to see more as she was being charged by one. In the quick moment, she noted the demonic symbols on their bodies, trying to remember some of the things Zatanna taught her about symbols and glyphs. But as she was charged, she dashed toward the creature, charging back suddenly jumping and grabbing it's shoulders pushing herself up over and coming down to kick off the demon's back. landing on her feet, spinning to meet the creature, hoping it was stumbling or down, ready to take it out.
Raven: As everyone else kept talking, the Titan noticed that something was wrong. Didn’t Lex Luthor know who they were? What was going on? With the other two women, she did notice that the Dark Knight was being rather strange. She listened as the others kept talking and slowly started walking, coming out of the containment they were in. She didn’t want her life to end there and when something was going on, she disliked getting in people’s way. She saw that in books too often. Before she could say something else on the matter, demons stepped out. Not knowing what their weakness was or knowing anything about them, she turned her attention as Batman was thrown to the side, Black Canary was having her own battle, she couldn’t see Wonder Woman, and Lex Luthor seemed to have it under control. Letting black magic cover her hands, Raven didn’t hesitate to charge forward as she started her own hand-to-hand combat. Pulling away, she pushed the demon back into the wall with her magic, looking over -c-
Raven: at Lex Luthor. “Do you want one alive, at least? Or do you want them all dead?” After asking the question, she figured out how stupid it sounded, but it was a reasonable question in her mind. -d-
Wonder Woman: The true nature of the difference with which she approached a friendly sparring matching with Dinah versus an actual conflict were easily seen when the demons charged her and her friend, also darting out towards Lex and Raven, a fifth already entangled with "Batman," who subsiquently went flying across the room. Another mark against him, she thought to herself. Mortal as he might be, it seemed hte dark knight rarely got himself over his head to such a degree. Her attention came back to the task at hand, twisting at the hips and catching the charging beast in the jaw with her left foot. The move was as swift and graceful as she had been with Canary, but visibly more powerful as the creature was taken off its path and sent stumbling backwards, it's head snapping back. As it stumbled, it passed into the path of Dinah's target, the two bodies becoming intwined in a clumsy fashion. -c-
Wonder Woman: Satisfied that particular problem was solved, Diana loosed the lasso, ever present on her hip, and snapped the chord forward, aiming for the demon that was once again advancing on "Batman," unsure whether the mystical properties of the Lasso would have any negative effect on the creatures, as it had shown a less than pleasant one on several other creatures who drew their power from the Underworld. With the demon snared, the lasso would brace against her elbow and Wonder Woman would snap the line taught, pulling the beast off its balance and bringing it to heel. -e-
The creatures were demonic in nature; unholy, the truth of Diana’s lasso would cause much discomfort to the demons, however unless she attempted to strangle them, they would be unharmed by it. Lex Luthor would turn his attention to Raven, unaware that her powers too could hold the demon at odds with a stasis field or levitation, he would respond with an ease of impressed nature to his tone. “N-no…These are merely soldiers in the unholy army. They know nothing more than kill or enslave anything that isn’t one of them!” Dr. Hamilton was also impressed. “I’ve never seen anything like you people…Stuck in hand to hand combat, they were almost no match for you!” Lex nodded with a small grin. “Doctor…I believe the Spores on Apokolips can wait…These Justice League…may be our chance at salvation, even if they are from another world.”
Black Canary: Dinah smirked as she caught the amazon out of the corner of her eye, using her obvious full force as she took out the demon and slung it into the one she had been handling taking them both out. she Gave Diana a little nod and saw that the battle was over, everyone had done well. Dinah listened to the doctor and Luthor and smirked, she walked over to them. On the she did an elbow slam on bowled over demon to make sure it was out cold. She picked herself up and smiled at the doctor and gestured at the demons. "Yeah, we do this thing a lot." she looked at the equipment and noted the shape and how cobbled together it was, this was a last attempt sort of thing. She looked a luthor. "We would be willing to help you folks out as long as we can see some more footage and get more info on these demons. Then we can talk abouts plan." she turned to the doctor. "Will you be able to return us when this all done?"
Raven: Getting the answer she needed, Raven opened a portal and pushed the demon through it, then closed it. Pulling back her hands and hiding it beneath her cloak, her hood was positioned over her face. She listened as Black Canary and the others spoke. What was this world? Listening to them with her full attention, she slowly stepped to a wall and felt it with her pale hand. She traced over the lines of the design that had been built, then pulled her hand back, rubbing her fingers lightly. It felt real. Very real. Wanting answers, she looked over at the group speaking and stayed afar, staying quiet and listening to how everyone was talking and the words they were using. Even though they were comrads, Raven didn't trust any of them right now. -d-
(Justice League Watchtower) Martian Manhunter stood by the computer staring over the instruments when the computer alerted to an influx of radiation on the Watchtower’s training room. Martian Manhunter tapped a few buttons and signaled the JLA Communicators. “Emergency notice to Justice League members….Four signals have been taken offline, we may have an intruder on the Watchtower, requesting assistance immediately. All auxiliary members please report in at the most convenient time!” The Martian Manhunter fell silent for a moment as his mind reached out to the station searching for anything that didn’t belong but found no sign of an intruder. He wasn’t sure what happened, but for a few moments the sensors tracked Wonder Woman and Black Canary in the training gym and then with a surge of radiation they were gone. <c>
Batman retracted his claws, metal serrated blades at the end of his fingers slid up into his knuckles as he turned to regard ‘fellow’ Justice League members. “They should be able to take us back. But if you had a plan to attack the source of these unholy spawns, we should proceed to wipe out every last one of them. Regardless of the cost, we cannot allow them to takeover this planet…This was not our fight,” Batman turned those eyes of amaranth onto Lex Luthor.- “But you brought us into this, now our world is in danger of being caught up in this…if we don’t destroy this machine the demons have a chance of breaking through and reaching -our world- and we still don’t know everything about these beasts. You are risking the lives of two worlds to save one.”
Black Canary: Canary gave Batman a sidelong look. He seemed awfully certain that this clapped together machine would work again, she wondered if he knew mechanics as well Bruce did, or if he was just that confident. She listened as he mentioned destroying a whole species of whatever these demons were, and they had no firm data on what their threat was. For all she knew this whole thing was staged. She noted how he described the risks of using this machine, although it hadn't been Luthor's attention to bring them into it, apparently. She nodded. "Well, we can cross that bridge once we get to it. Until then, we should really get that data first and figure out the best way to use our... talents." she smirked.
Raven: Something wasn't right. Something wasn't adding up the Titan knew it. She had heard a lot of rumors of this Lex Luthor and she didn't hesitate to take them to heart. Looking at Batman speak was one thing, but the speech he gave made Raven hesitate. Her eyes then turned to Black Canary. "Hold on just a minute." She spoke outloud, which was something that she didn't want to do. However, this would probably be an exception. "Why are you jumping into this without analysing the situation completely?" She looked right at Batman and Canary since they were the only ones that spoke. "You haven't seen this machine yet and you don't know its capabilities. Plus, these demons powers. We observed slightly, but not a lot. If they had the power to go into our world, then they would have done it already, would have they not?" Oh, so many words, but these questions should have been obvious to the team. Why weren't they? -d-
Green Lantern: -...intruder on the Watchtower- were the first words that Hal heard as he phased out of the wormhole into his natural sector. His face hardened and, like a green star in the vastness of space, glowed brightly and shot forward, leaving a trail of the same light behind him. It took only moments for him to arrive on the Watchtower, phasing through the walls of the station and appearing on the command deck. "I leave for a few weeks and someone breaks into the Tower? If this starts to become a thing it's going to be hard for me to leave the sector," Hal called over to J'onn, hovering through the air and over to the Martian, "where've you started and where do you need me?"
Wonder Woman: Upon hearing that they were mindless soldiers, and that their behaviour seemed to reenforce this idea, Diana had no problem in "cracking the whip," so to speak. She pulled back on the lasso, snapping it tight. It sinched closed and the force off her pulling back forced the demon to bend in half in an almost unnatural way with a satisfying snap. Her attention returned to Batman as he spoke, a seemingly in character sentiment that he had shared in the past, he was a loner and often saw nothing beyond the walls of Gotham. This had been a point of contention for Diana who saw the entire Earth and all of her inhabitants protectorates of hers. That said, the way he said it was not like the Batman she was used to. Adding t her concern was the look that Dinah was giving Batman; she was certainly far more experienced with him, both were from Gotham afterall. Raven's unease was aduble in her words, and visible in her posture, which again said something to Diana. -c-
Wonder Woman: "I disagree; if these creatures have the capacity to travel between the Multiverse as you called it," she looked at Luthor with a nod. "We owe it to our own universe, as well as all of the others, to do what we can to stop them. It looks like there are only four of us here, Superman and Green Lantern can handle our Earth for now, and they have the Flash and Manhunter if they cannot handle it themselves," she nodded, looking to the other women who, clearly, were the same as they had been a few moments ago when they were on the watchtower. Please be home, Hal, she thought to herself, knowing yes, Lantern could protect the Earth, just himself and a few "friends" from the Corps, but only if he was actually there. -e-
Starfire: Starfire had been wandering the streets as of recent events, though she had no destination. Even this alien had a habit of drifting off into deep thoughts. Thoughts which she kept hidden for the most part. Very few could see through the guise of emeral orbs, not nearly showing as much emotion as the humans managed. In fact, she almost didn't hear the warning about a possible breach at the tower. Frowning, a hand ran through her hair, a sigh given. For a moment she dared to wonder if she would find a certain bird there, but she wasn't going to give any hope to it. Anyway, comrades were missing and that was more important at the moment. In seconds she was heading toward the tower, coming to arrive not long after Hal had, looking between the two. "What appears to be the dilemma currently?" Just for confirmation, since she only half heard what was going on.-e-
(Watchtower) Martian Manhunter continued reviewing the computer instruments while Hal spoke, it was only when the thought that humans ‘preferred’ eye contact that J’onn looked to the man’s white eyes with his own set of red lens. “I need you to go to the training room and search for any sign of Wonder Woman or Black Canary…For what it’s worth, I’m sorry about Diana and we can only hope she and the others can handle themselves…” His attention diverted to Starfire when she arrived. “The situation is this...So far four members have gone missing, their communicators have been taken offline and their whereabouts unknown to our system. The computer is current in disarray, I will try to get Superman or someone with more technical knowledge to assist in understanding what exactly happened. In the meantime I need both of you to check into the disappearing members, find any clues that might tell us where they are. Watch each other’s back.” <c>
Batman pointed at Lex Luthor.- “I heard what they said earlier. This machine only has about 3-4 more uses before its scrap. I might be able to engineer and fix it…but that’s what you do, right Luthor?” -Batman’s accusing finger sharply called out Lex. “I have a city to protect and evil to vanquish, fortunate for -you- Lex Luthor, here there is an unquestionable amount of evil that requires my ability otherwise I wouldn’t think twice about launching you off the tallest building here. If you’re lying to us, I will make certain that my threat will be true.” Batman turned his attention to Wonder Woman. “We should scout out the parameter surrounding this compound. One of us will need to remain behind and strategize with Luthor on our plan of attack. I can think of no one better than an Amazon Warrior…As much as I would rather have you on my side in combat than these two…I think you’re needed here.” <c>
Lex Luthor placed his hand upon his chest.- “I swear to all of you…Right now! This is no deceptive plot. Doctor Hamilton can tell you, I am NOT whoever you think I am. I just want to save my planet and my people…Our goals are aligned but, if you don’t drop these accusations and let me stand on my own merit than whom are you to even call yourselves heroes?” Lex turned to regard a metal case that he opened up. “Now that we’re all acquainted…Black Canary, you’re going to be useless around here without anything magical so, take these.” -Lex pulled out a pair of black leather gloves.- “These are magically enhanced…every third punch will unleash a blast of fire, do be careful.” Lex held the gloves out to her.-
Black Canary: Dinah listened to Batman as he mentioned about the machine and a fact she missed due to their still getting their bearings, she nodded. As she heard batman's assesment at them, she had to agree that he was right, Diana, would be good for strategizing. But the jab about perferring her as a fighter, made her give him a dirty look, but she stayed quiet. She sighed as Luthor got defensive, she didn't blame him though. If she had to handle the deeds of another Canary (not her mom) she would be frustrated too. She gave Luthor a look as he mentioned her being useless, she frowned and was about to give him a piece of her mind, when he gave her the magic gloves. She smirked. "Well, thanks. I think. Mind if I try them out? I don't want to draw back too fast with these things get firey. And I would be happy to look about the grounds and anything else someone thinks would be useful for this mission."
Raven: The words of Wonder Woman ran through Raven’s head as she heard them. After Batman gave his own rant and Luthor did, she stared at Black Canary and the gloves. She wanted to comment, but kept her mouth shut. She didn’t say anything as something in the back of her mind told her to stay paranoid and defensive. She completely went quiet, starting to think of her own plan. Wondering if she could contact any of the other Titans, she knew that she would need a spell. Trying to think of a situation, she stared at the trio in front of her. A spell would take a few minutes and those minutes could be useful if she wasn’t here. Listening to Luthor’s comment, she wondered if it was a good choice or not to leave them. However, not wanting to leave Black Canary behind because she was a great friend, she would be quiet and stick around. Who knew what would happen in those minutes that she was gone, right? -d-
Wonder Woman: Warning bells fired off in her head as Batman threatened to kill Luthor. That wasn't a Batman thing; that was more of a Diana thing, and even then, it wasn't likely that she would -kill- Lex Luthor, not unless he did something irreversable and damaging to those she cared about or the Earth itself. Then there was the way he referred to her... Batman had never drawn upon her heritage, nor her status... And she was fairly certain that "people person" that he was, he would rather work with Dinah, someone he knew and someone who, ultimately, operated on the same level as he did, rather than someone who drew power from an unscientific source based on religious iconography that faded from popularculture with the rise of Christianity. As Lex spoke to Dinah, Diana shook her head. "She is not useless," she stood up for her friend, squaring her shoulders. "Canary is one of the best detectives I've ever met; and a fierce fighter. -c-
Wonder Woman: That said, Raven and myself can scout faster the two of us than the three of you combined, and from the air," she didn't want to leave Dinah alone, but she had a feeling she could trust this Lex Luthor. There was something... He gave off the opposite vibe that Batman was giving off. And then there was that; her lack of trust in Batman, growing by the moment, was leading her to want the opposite of what he was asking. Her azure eyes looked at Raven quickly, if she could isolate the Titan, perhaps the demon daughter could find a way to contact Donna, a fellow Titan, or perhaps one of the other Justice League members? -e-
Green Lantern: Diana... her name and J'onn's words struck a hard chord inside his chest and he immediately darted over to the Martian. His eyes were narrowed behind the the green domino mask, the white parts turning nearly into the slivers as his eyebrows furrowed and his upper lips curled up. "What.... do you mean?" he whispered through clenched teeth, hovering up to equal level with the other male as his aura started to glow brightly. Clenching his fists, the Lantern ignored Starfire's arrival entirely, his attenion completely on J'onn, "Where's Diana?" He could feel his heart start to race inside of his chest while his gut wrenched itself into knot after knot and a his throat went dry. What had happened while he stepped out? His eyes turned towards Earth and the grip of his hands grew tight enough that, were it not of the white of his uniform covering them, his nails would have driven clean through the skin of his palms.
Starfire: "To think that technology is not completely infallible in this day and age." She spoke quietly, wondering if the communicators could have just been destroyed rather than taken offline. Starfire wouldn't question this directly, she wasn't the scientific type, but that didn't make her any less smart than them. Gazing over to the green one, her arms crossed under her chest and a brow raised. There had been times in the past where she had let her anger get the better of her, barely able to contain herself but for her friends. Tamaraneans. Felt everything so much more purely. Wandering closer to Hal, she placed her hand on his shoulder in an attempt at human comfort, shaking her head. "Losing yourself to rage will not bring her back, wherever she may be. Keep a calm mind and perhaps we shall find out what happened without casualties."-e-
(Watchtower) Martian Manhunter’s solemn expression did not react to Hal’s emotional response that was typical of humans and while slightly surprising to see that emotional outbreak from a Green Lantern; it also wasn’t as shocking as one might think. “We don’t know where she is. Something scrambled our computers which suggest highly advanced technologies. If I were to guess…I would say Darkseid was behind this, but a Motherbox’s signal is detectable by our computers…this was something different. Someone -may- have snuck on board the Watchtower and may have abducted Black Canary and Wonder Woman and have taken them to an undisclosed location off of the Watchtower. We’ll find them, I promise to do everything in my power.”
The gloves Canary hand would unleash a blast of fire that wouldn’t hurt her, but would sear the victim of her fist causing a knockback. The flames might catch on fire, but that seemed like a very unlikely chance (perhaps a 10% chance to do so) Otherwise if Canary were to tap her knuckles, palm, backhand, or edge of her hand she could ignite the ability. Being a fighter (And clearly not Luthor’s expertise) Black Canary would be able to discover that punches weren’t the only thing to cause the gloves to unleash fire. Karate chops, palm strikes, and possibly even grappling maneuvers could cause the gloves to fire off their effect. Batman took note of her gloves, but still didn’t seem impressed. He made mental note that it made her somewhat useful now - except that her life was dependant on faith in Lex Luthor’s ‘equipment’ and Batman recognized Black Canary’s boldness to trust him. <c>
It either made her a fool or a survivor, certainly Lex was trying to gain their favor and for now Jean Paul would hold back from threatening or harassing Luthor. Batman’s blue metallic masks concealed his lips and chin and allowed those demonic eyes to glare at Wonder Woman. “Fine. I will stay and keep an eye on Luthor and assess what the enemy’s tactical situation is.” Doctor Hamilton waved for Raven and Wonder Woman. “Follow me, I’ll show you the way out of the compound.” Outside the compound it was Metropolis city turned into a desolate wasteland. Streets once paved with asphalt and cement were now nothing more than holey and blankets for a picnic of junk piles. Steel beams, marble foundations, cars, and dead bodies littered the area of the entire city. <c>
The sky was red with orange and black clouds. Diana would be able to hear the chattering of demons, small creatures no taller than her knee in height, feasting upon the dead or whatever edible thing they could find.
Black Canary: Black Canary flexed her hands with the gloves and did a few swipes and some of sparring exercise routines in a more empty part of the room and even tried to strike a wall a bit. Smirking at the new toy she was given. Not something she would normally use, she didn't usually set out to kill things. But if it was the only way to help take out a demon, she would have to give them a try. If they didn't work, she still could out manuver most fighters. She looked over her shoulder and noticed the new batman watching her. She couldn't tell what he was thinking through his mask, but she felt like how he watched her, it was as if judging her. She joined the men again. "Thanks Luthor they should come in handy." she plopped onto a stool at a terminal. "So what kind of intel do you have?"
Raven: The look that Wonder Woman was something she was interested in. Even though many of the current superheroes didn’t see eye to eye or anything, they barely noticed the Titan with a look. She knew that this look was rather special and that she wanted to ask what it was, but she would have to later as her attention was diverted away. She followed the doctor and Wonder Woman outside, looking at the small demons that were wondering around. The horrible smell of dead corpses were something that she made a small face at, but kept her emotions in check and quiet. “…” She took a small step forward, as if testing the ground, then looked at Wonder Woman. She would let her be the alpha and leader for now, wondering if the mention of the look would come up. Something was wrong and it was
obvious, but if she had to contact one of the members, who would it be? Starting to think, she ruled out Nightwing because he may involved with this Batman. Beast Boy wasn’t that good with technology nor was -c-
Raven: he at the Titan’s Tower, Cyborg was on vacation, and she wouldn’t want to ask another Amazon woman. How could she trust this Wonder Woman? The only one left was Starfire. That would work. Now, how would she get away for a few minutes to contact the alien? -d-
Wonder Woman: Diana looked at Dinah, holding the blonde woman's eyes for a moment to let an unspoken warning to remain safe pass between them before letting the blue gaze float back to Luthor. She nodded, proving she was indeed paying cursory attention to what he was saying. With a gesture she put herself between Raven and everyone else, following her and the Doctor out of the room. She had seen plenty of war zones in her life, but she hadn't quite been prepared for this. "Great Hera," she breathed, her blue eyes taking in the destruction around her. The sky was the wrong colour, with a firey stench in the air and a miriad of creatures were feasting. As of yet, they hadn't noticed Diana, Raven or the Doctor. Hoping to Capitalize on that, Diana kept to the air, hovering a few inches off the ground, approximately the same height as Raven. -c-
Wonder Woman: "We shall come back around, it should not take long, but you should go back inside lest you attract the attentiopn of anyone lurking," she said, her voice calm and assertive as she spoke to the Doctor. Her eyes cast to Raven, waiting to see that the Doctor had indeed followed her request and gone inside. "You are friends with my sister, Donna," she opened, using their common knowledg eof Donna as a way to start the conversation. "She has spoken highly of your skill and power; do you think you can cast a spell to get in touch with -our- Watchtower?" Diana spoke plain, as she always did. She had neither the time nor the inclination to hide under assumptions nor use words that were verbose. She had two reasons to desire contact with "home," not the least of which was to alleviate the stress of Lantern, and the others, who must certainly by now have realized that Dinah, Raven and herself were missing. -c-
Wonder Woman: Diana also wanted to set the minds at "home" on this task, to see what knowledge had been stored from Lantern's experience in the universe, if in fact these demons had been encountered by Hal, or perhaps one of the other Lanterns. In any battle, having more knowledge could often counter weigh the disadvantage of having fewer numbers. -e-
Wonder Woman and Raven were in no danger of the smaller demons; they seemed very jumpy and easily intimidated even by each other. Doctor Hamilton immediately left and returned to the others inside the compound. Inside the compound Lex Luthor revealed a computer that had a global map. “So far the enemy has ships, lots of them…The Red Legion rules from space. However, they have a temple that they use for transporting soldiers from space to the ground or reverse. The Red Legion has many soldiers who are more than a match for us six people…What I would give for a Super Man like your Wonder Woman…If we had two of them…Hell we could take back the world and rule it ourselves.” Lex Luthor was thinking out loud as his mind traced the possibilities and it seemed for a moment that hope touched his heart. <c>
“We’ll need to focus on their mothership, I believe if we destroy it, it will delay their reinforcements from reaching one part of the planet to the other. We’ll cut their mobility and control down by almost 90%. The enemy ships are slow moving, but don’t dismiss their smaller aircraft, which fire intense - and magical electric-flames…Capable of crippling most life forms with a beating heart and also scorching your skin with 400 degree burns…You’d survive longer standing next to Lava. They fire smaller pulses as well made of some kind of mystical lightning that can incapacitate or transform into a lightning whip if they want to capture you and find out what you know.” Batman nodded, understanding thus far. “So, then the plan will be - teleport a hellspore onto their command ship, detonate it and then what? Fight off the remaining legion between the 6 of us?” <c>
Luthor shook his head. “No. There’s a location, somewhere out in the ocean that holds the key to everything…When the Red Legion first arrived they focused their attention on this part of the ocean.” -Lex pointed at a map. It was nothing but pure water to anyone watching the map, except if Black Canary were paying attention and had that information she would know Lex Luthor was pointing at the location of Paradise Island’s secret co ordinance. If Black Canary didn’t know, then it would be all the mystery to her as well.
Black Canary: Black Canary listened to Luthor and his ideas, he was a lot like their Luthor on earth, Clever, passionate about what he believed in, and wanting to take charge if he could. She smirked at him liking the idea of controling the world again, by having another hero like wonder woman, like a superman. She smirked at that, she wondered if her Luthor's nose was itching. It soudned like the were still going to use the helspore teleporting idea. and it sounded like they had things well plot out. She made mental notes on the strange technology and kinds of ships the adversary would have. They sounded very powerful and something that they might struggle with. But heck, if she could get her hands one, she sure love to give it a test drive. Show those demons a real dogfight. Canary looked at the blank spot on the map, it didn't hold anything special to her, there wasn't even an island there. Although she knew of many uncharted islands. Heck some were even magical so they coudln't be charted. (c)
Black Canary: "So you have no idea what is in this location? Well if you think it is that key, it might be worth sending some of us there." she said curious, but unsure. "And some of us can pilot if you need us to fly there."
Green Lantern: Shrugging his shoulder free of the touch to it, Hal glared at J'onn, but more than anything he was glaring at himself. Every time that he had to go always built a worry inside him that something would happen.... something terrible and right now that seemed to be finally coming to realization. Hovering back a few feet from the Martian, his aura dropped and he turned towards the citizens in the command deck. They all had their eyes on him. He had fought back against two tremendous threats to the Earth, Brainiac and Darkseid, with his light shining bright as a beacon against that Evil and yet now... now that light was shining for naught but his own personal reasons. That was something he knew Diana would not forgive him for if he traveled too far down that road. Hal inhaled deeply and closed his eyes, holding in the oxygen and allowing himself to settle down before slowly letting out his breath to a count of five. "Ring... Scan watchtower for unnatural anomalys for Space Sector-
Green Lantern: 2814. Compare search with all known and suspected energy signatures with those of the Forth World. Note irregularities as found and form conclusions as to origin, changing for further information, as gained and let me know ASAP." Ring acknowledge. Scanning.... The center of his ring would glow bright as Hal raised his hand up, in a fist, level with his face as a beam of light would shoot up towards the ceiling before splittering out into a wide wave of light. The green energy would pierce through walls, people, and objects scanning all that it touched throughout the entirety of the Watchtower, starting from the top of the room they were in and working its way down to the very bottom, even scanning Hal, the orange woman, and the Martian.-e-
Raven: Small demons were intimidated by each other? That was something new and something rather odd. She wondered what it meant, but turned her attention elsewhere. Staring at Wonder Woman, she listened to what she had to say and how she came down to business. Trailing her eyes to the side, she stared at the building. They could hear what they were saying, right? Once she finished, she stared at Wonder Woman deeply in the eyes. She didn’t seem to have another intent and no matter what Raven thought, it seemed that this woman was telling the truth and seemed honest. Looking over at the sky and its different color, she turned back at her. “We’ll need a private place for me to place my spell and I’ll need protection for at least 5 minutes, perhaps more, and I’ll contact them. I know who to contact in case the Watchtower itself is in trouble. It’s Starfire. If you don’t mind that, then we’re set to go. I’ll be able to get information from her and the others through her. I’ll keep the -c-
Raven: connection open, but it only stays between you and me. Is that a fair deal?” She couldn’t help but hear herself and feel like she was a demon making a deal with a human. -d-
Starfire: Seeing as the male shrugged her away, Starfire was likely to turn her back on him and frown once more. Either way, he calmed down as requested. She knew exactly what it was like to lose someone like this, or happen to be the person on the other end. While Hal was instead relying on his ring to do the investigating for him, Star waved her hand over her shoulder to head toward the training room and use her own senses to discover what was going on. Well, that and the S.S Starfire's own scanning equipment from remote access as she stared around the room. "How could they simply disappear like that.. such strong warriors." She whispered to herself.
Wonder Woman: She thought for a moment on the deal before nodding, "So long as you are willing to send a message to Green Lantern for me - nothing fancy, just that I am okay, but we need his knowledge," she eyed the woman, then turned her head, looking around to see if there was a "Private Space" available. "How private?" she peered down on the roof where a water tower had been partially destroyed. The top was off, but the interior was still solid. "And how much space do you need?" The ruins of sky scrapers were all around them, it was really a matter of what Raven needed more than anything else. There was no need to debate or question the guard, Diana would be able to handle that and would certainly agree to that term. "There is the water tower, or the roof of that building. I can see both you and the compound from there; I am not entirely comfortable leaving Canary with that Batman - he makes me uncomfortable," she confided in Raven, her eyes flitting to the left as she said the word. -e-
Lanterns ring would identify that there was no connection between Apokolips and the anomaly. The ring would identify the emissions from a transporter beam to be powered by Silver Kryptonite Radiation, mystical in properties. The ring would also be able to detect a thread in reality; a string leading back to the origin of the transporter beam, two of them specifically inside the training room at the exact location where Black Canary and Wonder Woman were previously fighting each other. Martian Manhunter watched both of them for a moment and then stared ahead at the light show caused by the ring. “Hmm…Kryptonite power source? This sounds like something Lex Luthor would do.”<c>
Luthor nodded to Black Canary. “While it may seem strange…Gasoline ran out over 5 years ago…We’re running on what little we have left as well my own power source that I was barely able to finish before this mess happened. We’re rather fortunate but, Doctor Hamilton and I are not warriors. We’re scientists and we’re incapable of defeating these things alone. The only option would be, whoever is sent onto the mothership must use their transporter device to beam to that location and find out what is there other than an ocean…Perhaps a cloaked ship or a base of operations that’s been here for centuries under our noses.”
Raven: Staring at the surroundings around her, she looked over at the roof of the building that was a few hundred feet away from them. “There.” She lifted her pale hand, pointing to the object where she was going to go at. Turning her head, she looked at Wonder Woman, nodding slightly at what she was going to say. Could this woman really be trusted? So far, she had the same hunch that her own instincts were telling her, but that could all be part of a set-up, right? It was difficult to trust them, mostly with her team elsewhere. “I will deliver the message, but under one circumstance. I want to talk to my own teammate, who I trust, not somebody else. From there, she can talk to the WatchTower and we can associate business.” She hoped that it didn’t sound too harsh and cold, but that’s what it seemed like it sounded. Her voice was always monotone, distant, and cold as ice. She wondered if Wonder Woman would understand. Raven was showing a bit of trust, however, with telling this -c-
Raven: information to the female in front of her. -d-
Wonder Woman: "I completely understand," Diana said, her posture floating in the air. Her eyes spoke with honesty, her voice gentle but strong, not forceful but strong. "My sister, Donna, is one of your teammates - she is as trustworthy as they come, but I understand should you choose a teammate of your own." Diana looked around. "While you make contact, I will provide coverage, and do surveillance. Something tells me we should not come back without accomplishing out stated goal. I do not trust that Batman, and I am not entirely convinced that Luthor is trustworthy either." The Amazon, indeed a very similar image to Donna, but perhaps older by a few years, a few inches taller, broader across the shoulders. Her uniform shimmered in the red light of this world, the clear blue eyes adjusting to the strange son. "Gaea be with you," she nodded, arching up and turning to the left in a smooth arch, always keeping an eye on the ground and the other on Raven.
Raven would take note of something different in the air, there was a strength of demonic and dark power. However, magic would not be able to assist her in reaching out to another universe…Any search or use of magic would go unanswered by Starfire….she would however, see the dark visage of a dark featured creature with red skin and fiery eyes. He was shrouded by blackness, but her senses could detect pure evil from the demon. His presence much like her father, different in various ways but the essence was the same. If she reached out to her telepathy and magic it would clash against this creature leaving her with a distinct impression he was now looking for her. ~…Rachel…~ ( images.alphacoders.com/157/157933.jpg )He whispered with a growl that resembled an aching stomach, a churning of sinister intent and a brisk sense of danger imminent. She could talk to it and learn more if she wanted to, fleeing seemed impossible now. <c>
After a moment of ‘contact’ with the creature she would feel a blanket of warmth wrap around her and her ‘fear’ of imminent danger was realized that she didn’t fear death, rather she feared the creatures authority to the utmost level of demonic hierarchy. Fear was respect to ones command, was Raven feeling a sense of loyalty to this creature?
Raven: Noticing the similarities was not surprising, but the words were. She listened as the other kept talking, knowing that Wonder Woman did not have that many options. Nodding her head, she quickly levitated off the ground and went to the roof top. Sitting down, she closed her eyes and mumbled her spell in a rather quiet whisper, not wanting anybody to hear. “Azarath…metrion…zinthos…” with those words being whispered, she closed her eyes, trying to contact her former teammate. However, there was no answer by a number of minutes. Staring through the universe, a large demon that looked rather odd stared at her. She could feel the fear set in, but it was well hidden to humans, but to this demon? She might as well have worn a transparent mask. Hearing her first name, purple eyes stared up at the demon, the want and desire to serve it slowly starting to increase by the seconds it went by. No…something was wrong. What was she thinking? To serve a demon? Trying to think of what to say, her -c-
Raven: pale mouth opened slightly, but it takes a few seconds for the sound to come out. “Yes?” She finally said, the one word was the only thing that she could mumble out. Why was this demon coming to her? Why did this demon have such power, just like her father did? -d-
The demon wouldn’t respond and left her in silence, but Wonder Woman would begin to hear the rumble of something in the distance over the horizon in the sky.
(pixelcreation.fr/fileadmin/img/sas_image/galerie/animation_3d/Strategie%20Ender/06%20Strategie%20Ender.jpg ) A large space ship dropped out from the clouds above with a dark crusty skin, a pulse of energy surged through it with a certain amount of rhythm and it was powerful enough for Wonder Woman to determine the spaceship was an organic creature that had no signs of propulsion or method of flight, which isn’t much of a surprise given her own talents. Amber ventilation ports marked its front and sides of a large circular dome. Thousands of tiny tentacles layered the underside of the vessel, spread around its entire base. The vessels size ranged that of almost the entire city. It was about now that one of the ventilation ports released a smaller ‘vessel’ that began flying directly towards Raven. <c>
This smaller craft was roughly the size of a mansion propelled by multiple tendrils that weaved and swam through the air while dangling behind the pod-like shape of its design. Its top held an orange pus like bubble that was spread across its entire top half. This was accompanied by smaller bubbles across its lower front while large pustulent bubbles were rowed on its sides. A beak on its front with three folds for opening and closing was at the front of it as well, from what Wonder Woman could tell this pod was also a living creature.
( img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080603120024/starcraft/images/a/ac/Corruptor_SC2_Cncpt1.jpg ) It approached with incredible speed, but seemed to be in no rush. If it went un hindered it would hover above Raven’s location and its large tentacles would act as landing props. With a closer examination Wonder Woman and Raven could see within the pustulent bubbles, tiny creatures swimming in filth and goo that was as charming to look at as blood mixed with the darkest of soup. <c>
While it ‘landed’ there was a pause from the ship, it simply waited.
Raven: As the demon in front of her didn’t speak, the Titan got the message loud and clear. She kept staring at it, but something else caught her attention. As her purple eyes snapped open in reality, she quickly made a shield of pure dark magic around her, then noticed the creature that was on top of her head. Looking over to where Wonder Woman was, she said nothing and took a closer look, a small frown on her face. Keeping the bubble around her, she floated away and went toward Wonder Woman. “Do you recognize any of these things?” She stared at the mother ship of them all and wondered how many creatures were inside. Looking at the creature that she left behind, she pulled down her shield, but her senses were on overdrive. She wouldn’t let her guard down around these creatures.
What were they anyways? Part...who knew. -d-
Wonder Woman: Diana looked up, her large eyes reflecting the image in front of her. At first she thought it was an invasion, an attack clearly drawn out by the arrival of herself, Dinah and Raven, that they were the forces which had enslaved this Earth coming to get them, as indeed, Diana had come to believe that much. This was not her home. It took a moment, a few minutes of quiet reflection, to realise they were beings. Living creatures, that while perhaps were not entirely sentient in the fullest capacity, they had a symbiotic relationship with the other beings. She floated closer to Raven as they began to swarm towards her. She would protect the young woman, but for the time being, until the semi sentient showed any sign of malice Diana would be defensive. "I do not, but they are creatures surely, but nothing I have ever seen before," she spoke, keeping her back to Raven's in order to ensure no one got behind them. -c-
Wonder Woman: Oh how she wished Hal was here; he had experience in the areas she lack, including all things from outside the boundaries of earth. She hoped he was okay at home; when she left he was in another sector. He may not even know she was missing. -e-
The front hatch of the single ship opened and a demon commander flew towards Wonder Woman and Raven, an escort of five accompanied him. The commanding demon was red skinned, tinted with a bright pink shade he wore a sash around his hips along with short pants that stopped just above his large knees. He stood at 7 feet tall with a large wing span and frail looking wings that somehow held up his size and weight. Large horns erect from his skull creating two spikes on his head in the form of a U while at each temple were small and stubby with a sharp metallic tip. Layers of sharp teeth were held upon his grinning face, his exposed and bare chest gave both women the impression of his muscular form with his abs defined sturdy. His biceps and peculiar muscles were very well sculpted as demonic sigils marked his skin with some significance or another.<c>
For intense purposes the demon was meant to appear attractive while also fear inducing. His fiery eyes were alluring almost as much as his thick, but only four foot long tail with a sharp spearhead tip.
( fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/248/2/0/mtg__bloodgift_demon_by_one_vox-d4907rs.jpg ) his guards were smaller in size, approximately 6’5” but these creatures were layered and secured inside suits of armor. Twin horns curved from the sides of their head down towards their cheeks. Large bat-like wings unfolded and flapped with a dragon like characteristic, indicating the wings were muscular despite their thin membrane and boney appearance. Their bodies concealed in forged armor that was enchanted with mystical properties, unknown to Raven or Wonder Woman, these weren’t any ordinary guards, they were elites; best the army had to offer, they were fierce and extraordinarily powerful even against angels.<c>
( fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/364/e/5/demon_lord_by_chevsy-d6zzv3x.jpg ) The commander hovered only a few feet from the heroes, with a content and mischievous grin he held his arms open to Wonder Woman and Raven. “Greetings little one. The lord wishes to see you. Have you brought this Amazon as a gift for him? I was not aware there were any of them still alive…Our lord will be most pleased with this information.”
Raven: Noticing that the ship was opening, Raven knew that she only had a few seconds to maybe one or two minutes to explain. Without hesitating, she felt Wonder Woman at her back and talked normally, knowing that if the demons truly wanted to listen, then they would. These were rather odd creatures and something wasn’t adding up. “Wonder Woman, I could not reach any of them. Starfire would answer, no matter what, but she was quiet this time and I couldn’t reach it. Something is going on that’s blocking my signal, I know that this may be something you won’t trust me for, but there is a demon that is trying to influence me to join him.” She knew that in the future, it would be different. Once the demons came up to her, she stared, not backing down from her stance. However, the sentence that he used caught her off guard. Her eyes didn’t widen slightly, but a small micro expression that Wonder Woman would be able to catch the glimpse of was there. Her lips twitched downward slightly at the -c-
Raven: sentence, wondering why they would treat her such respect, but not Wonder Woman. Then again, they were demons and that’s all Raven needed to know. Knowing that the line could throw her under the bus with the Amazon, she decided to let a few emotions come through her voice. They were barely there, but they could be read with the words. “What are you talking about, exactly? Is the lord who I saw in my head?” That last question would help Wonder Woman get a little bit of what she saw too, which was perfect since she didn’t have that much time before to fully explain. “No, this Amazon woman is with me. She has a name and it’s Wonder Woman.” She didn’t care that much about her own name, knowing that speaking out of line could anger them. “Before I would even consider going with you, do you mind explaining yourselves? You know the saying…’Demons can’t be trusted.’” -d-
Wonder Woman: Confused, Diana turned her gaze to Raven, tilting her head to the side. The explaination sufficed and likely to the surprise of the young woman, Diana simply nodded, her lips forming a solid line. "I believe you," was all she said, hearing the uncertainly in the other's voice, a small vocal fry which caused her to warble just the slightest. It spoke of uncertainty, and while Diana knew she could be uncertain for lying, she was naturally inclined to trust someone, especially when her own sister vouched for them. While she initially had been confused by the creatures, it was becoming clear that perhaps, while Raven's powers could transcend the different realms, she could not connect between the MultiVerses - the comment regarding that Amazons still existed said enough to her. While she was initially saddened that potential sisters were extinguished here, she knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that her sisters were still alive, as was her mother;-c-
Wonder Woman: she would have felt them if they were in trouble, the way she felt Donna ache when she experienced a break up, or Hippolyta yearn for her daughters' return, and rare occasions of mourning. Diana didn't let her disappointment show on her face, but remained calm, with a rather bland expression that even the world's best poker players and politicians would be jealous of. Only her eyes, clear blue like the skies above her home, held the intensity of the moment, remaining ever vigilant of the armed guards and the messenger they seemed to be sent to protect. No detective herself, but blessed with all the Wisdom of Athena, Diana began to put it together; Raven had sourced her power in this world, meaning the "father" she contacted, if Donna's explanation of her friend's powers were correct, was from this world, not theirs, meaning should she pray to the Lord and Ladies of Olympus it wouldn't be her Mother's consort and his sisters that answered, but this world's versions of them. -c-
Wonder Woman: Interesting, she thought to herself as all this settled in, her eyes never showing a change. As they seemed to be speaking to Raven, she allowed that to go on, offering the child a chance to defend her rather than agree. "I am Diana, Princess of Themyscira," she said with a regal posture and nod, respectful and not the least intimidated by the demon. Diana wished to remain here; Canary was still inside, with an untrustworthy Batman who seemed half feral and Lex Luthor, whom she wasn't entirely sure was the evil man he was in her realm, but still not inclined to trust. -e-
“I am Eligos. My soldiers and I serve Koran-Atha-Kant…You contacted him…He is-…far more powerful than us.” He spoke directly to Raven, and his attention diverted to Diana as she spoke. He was amused by her and his gaze slid over her body, clearly admiring her features. “Diana…A fascinating warrior you are, Diana…You-…” His words trailed off, his gaze staring at her as though she were transparent, his head frozen. “…-It will be interesting to see you fight in battle. Interesting in all of my visions, never have I foreseen this meeting between us, Diana. I can see your future and can see that things will be bloody, what happened to your people here will be merciful compared to what will happen to them in your home…” Truthfully, Eligos didn’t understand what he saw, Themyscira was destroyed here, but this Wonder Woman’s future lead her to Themyscira and its amazons seemingly in good health. <c>
He turned his attention back to Raven. “I am tasked with escorting you back to the Lord and he will discuss what matters he wishes with you. This is your chance to find answers to what you’re looking for…A way to free yourself of his voice. To trap Trigon away forever. That is what my lord has given me to offer you if you come with me and hear his terms.”
(Watchtower) Martian Manhunter had sent out a distress signal requesting assistance only moments ago…Green Lantern and Starfire responded and began an investigation but, the distress signal was not cancelled as the Watchtower sensors were in disarray, Martian Manhunter scrambled to search through the sensor logs for what information may be useful in this investigation. Particle rays and highly advanced scientific data that was beyond the Martian’s comprehension passed through the computer screens while he tried to make sense of it all.
(Earth-48) Lex Luthor revealed the surrounding map to Black Canary and Batman. “The Red Legion’s forces have stationed control points; they’ve hive nests that garrison some 3 or 4 legions of soldiers. That’s not including their special elite guard or whatever mutations they have held up within them. The best time of day to travel is during sunlight. Aerial sentinels are fewer in number and the scavenger demons are relatively harmless so long as you look imposing and threatening to them. They understand fear and intimidation, never forget that.” Lex’s eyes narrowed at Batman and Black Canary in order to assert his point to them.
Black Canary: Black Canary looks over the maps and sees where Luthor pointed to the hives that have garrisons. "so all this for an insurgency and an invisible island, and then there are random sentinenals and lttle scavenging demons... nice." she looks at the new batman. "I think he has intimidation down pat, and lets just say you don't want to see me on a bad day. I can hold my own. So where are you dropping us off at then?" she asked.
Superman: With the distress signal sounding, Clark found a quick excuse to get away from his desk. “Got a lead, Mr. White, I’ll be back with something soon.” As soon as he was out of sight he made his way to the roof of the Daily Planet, discarded his civilian clothing and made way quickly for Watchtower. Landing through the hangar bay doors, he sped to the nearest elevator and moments later arrived at the command center. “J’onn, what’s the situation?” His voice had lost all hint of insecurity, his posture had straightened, the mild mannered reporter had been locked away somewhere in the back of his mind. Watchtower was the central hub of the Earth’s mightiest heroes and none of them would have sounded the calvary bells over something trivial, it had to be serious, urgent, life and death, and most importantly, it had to be stopped. Still, Superman was not a rash individual, going into a situation without all the information available was often times a recipe for doing more damage than good.
(Watchtower) Martian Manhunter turned his attention to Superman gestured to the computers. “We have reason to believe that three or four of our members have been kidnapped…Their communicators were disrupted and suddenly disappeared. I’m unable to get a clear reading on these instruments…They are unlike anything I’ve seen before and have the Watchtower system in a confused state.” His voice was monotone and dull, but he would attempt to apply some emotional urgency by speaking louder at certain words. “I have Green Lantern and Starfire searching for clues…I could use help analyzing the signals that penetrated our defenses.” J’onn pointed his hand towards a computer console and screen next to him. If Superman took a closer look he would be able to determine it was some kind of transporter beam; a gateway relay similar to one used by Krypontian’s that transport individuals to the Phantom Zone or to 4th World dimensions such as Apokolips.
(Earth-48) There’s a teleportation pad that relays from the Hive towards the mothership in orbit. Our plan is simple; you two will guard me while I prepare for Hellspore for detenation. If anything goes wrong, I will send one of us through the teleporter and transport us and the Hellspore directly onto the ship. This pad…” -Lex Luthor held up the pad with his left hand.- “Will help you translate and arm the Hellspore. Understood?” Batman nodded.- “So we wait?” ~Exchanging glance with the dark haired vigilante, he wonders what her angle is in all of this? He judges her uniform as someone who flaunts sexappeal and her words speak fluently in foolishness. He wonders if she even takes this work seriously.
Black Canary: Dinah nods. So she was going to play body guard for luthor and give him some time so they could teleport the helspore and blow up one of the hives. and he was making it so they could do it too. "Okay sounds good." she smirks and leans against a wall. Yep hurry up and wait. She noticed Batman looking at her. "Do you need something?" his eyes seemed to be lingering, looking at her costume, a slight edge to her voice. She forced the edge out of her voice and smirked. She might as well try to get to know her knew teammate better. "So, I'm sure you have looked over the notes in my profile that the previous batman wrote on me. So you know I"m not the first Black Canary. Do you have any questions?" her tone friendly.
Superman: Superman nodded, immediately taking a seat beside his viridian comrade. “I thought Watchtower was equipped with the proper codecs for all known languages in this universe...” He studied the symbols and readings that flashed across the screen at the speed of thought. As the symbols flew by he split the screen, studying the traces from the temporal displacement that alerted Manhunter to the problem in the first place. “So, we have two options, our friends have encountered a language or technology unknown to this universe, or, they are in another dimension altogether.” As he continued reading the readings the flashed across the screen his worry was confirmed. “These readings are similar to ones Kryptonians used to trap fugitives in the Shadow Zone, it’s possible that it’s a copy of my homeworld’s technology. There’s only one man I know that has ever successfully mimicked Kryptonian designs. It seems I need to arrange a visit with Mr Luthor.”
(Watchtower) J’onn’s blank expression stared at Superman, his brain working out the information being given to him. “Transported to another dimension? If we can locate where it is, I may be able to configure our transporter to teleport them back. But that requires a level of understanding of this technology that I am not completely capable of…If Lex Luthor could assist in recalibrating the transporter, it may give us a chance to locate them. Assuming they aren’t danger…” <c>
(Earth-48) ~She turns those baby blues onto him and a sense of comfort comes to him that he immediately rejects. His back stiffens and his shoulders maintain perfect balance. She can’t see the determination in those eyes. She only sees red lens flaring at her. Demonic wings and shoulder pads spiked and curved. A dark blue cowl with demonic horns - a symbol of the demons that haunted his victims. He knows the warmth of comfort, but he rejects it as to become more like his enemies…to understand who he fights against he must become what they are except…not a killer. That was -Bruce Wayne’s- code….not -his- code…~
Black Canary: Black Canary smirks at Batman. She couldn't see beyond the full face covering cowel or past those lensed covered eyes. She coudl see the demonic looking cowl, horns and wings, a darker style to put more fear into those he hunted and fought. Designed to make him look bigger, intimidating. But she could see hints of his thoughts through his body language, a little relaxing from her looking back at him, her eyes a bright light blue, an amused look in them. and then he suddenly stiffened, as if trying to deny something he was thinking or protect himself from her. He didn't reply though. "Hey i'm not gonna bite you. But yeah, if you want to talk or have questions feel free, okay? always good to know who you're going into a fight with. Don't worry I got your back." she said with a smile and offered him a hand to shake.
Superman: He nodded. “We’ll need to locate them no matter their current situation. I’ll make my to Luthor’s cell and see if I can get him to talk, in case he doesn’t, or he lies, try running the codes from the displacement through a kryptonian filter, it might help you to decipher them.” In a flash the Man of Steel had left J’onn’s side and was making his way to Stryker's Island. He was held up at the gate, but after stating he was on urgent business the Warden was quick to arrange an impromptu visitation for Superman and his long time foe. “Lex, it’s been a long time.” Seeing this man sitting across from him, he couldn’t forget their formative years, the time spent in Smallville, trying to be a friend, but he also couldn’t hold on to the memory of that misguided youth. Lex was a man who had done terrible deeds, and now he was paying his price. Still, Clark held a small hope that the boy with the best intentions was still alive, somewhere inside there. “What have you done with the Justice League?”
Lex Luthor sat in his cell writing on a piece of paper with a pencil when he heard the guard. “Luthor, you got a visitor!” Luthor’s expression fell blank as he stood up, his hope slightly reaching out for Mercy Graves, but an untrusting sensation made him wonder if it was perhaps Waller or some other Government agent. To his surprise it was actually the man he hated. His expression turned sour and perhaps jaded as he sat down. “The last person I expected to see. Come to brag or has the world finally seen how mortal you really are?” His question caused Lex to hesitate. “Justice League? You’re here to talk about them?” Lex stood up and approached Superman. “I don’t know anything about the Justice League. Why, has something happened? Can’t you solve it on your own with that alien brain of yours?”
(Earth-48) “I will be fine. Should focus on the task at hand rather than looking for romance with a team mate, perhaps -you- should be more focused on the task at hand.” Luthor would seem occupied preparing his machinery when he spoke. “I hope you two aren’t always like this…I get the impression that you two are new to your Justice League. ” Batman looked at Lex Luthor with a bit of embarrassment, but he wouldn’t show it rather he would walk away from Black Canary, ignoring her handshake in almost a form of complete disrespect.
Superman: Superman’s face turned hard as he stood, his hands remaining at his side, Luthor, despite his hate, was not stupid enough to try and confront him here, without his ring or gadgets. “Don’t even try it, Luthor. You’re the only man on Earth who’s ever cloned Kryptonian technology, 4 of our members vanish from the known galaxy and we find traces of the same signal you once tried to harness to access the Phantom Zone. You’re behind this, so don’t try to deny it. Unless you’re willing to admit that somewhere, someone else has managed to surpass your ‘genius’ and succeed where you failed.” Bully tactics were useless against a man like Lex. He wasn’t afraid of Superman’s posturing because he knew, at heart, that he was a pacifist, however, insulting his ego was not a bad strategy to employ.
Black Canary: "Romance?" she echoed, some tone obvious in it. How dare he think... she forced her fists to relax. "Look, I know you don't..." and then Luthor spoke up. A part of it finding it rather amusing that he was paying attention and had to chip in his two cents, another part feeling a bit sheepish. Black Canary was a little surprised that Batman just turned so quickly and walk off. she gave a small huff as he ignored her handshake. Wow... you sure can pick them bruce... if she ever got a chance to spar with him... out of that armored batsuit... she let out a slow breath and smirked at Luthor. "Well, he is new, I've been with the league for awhile. As you can imagine a lot of big and varying peronalities. Can I help you with anything? I may not know a lot about electronics, but I can hand you tools." she smirks.
(Earth-48) Luthor gave a nod to Black Canary. “Some coffee would be appreciated.” His gaze fixated upon the computer in front of him. “We ran out last week…If you can’t get that then I guess there’s nothing you can do other than stay out of my way…” It was at this point Doctor Hamilton spoke up. “We could use someone to start up the outer parameter defense or the sensor array…Perhaps find more survivors.” Luthor’s criticism chimed in. “And do what exactly? We haven’t got supplies for more than the four of us. How do you expect us to survive with more than this?” “Perhaps they could also scavenge for supplies as well? We shouldn’t give up hope. We’ve made it this far, maybe others have as well.” Luthor sighed and shook his head. “Others have made it, Doctor…The Legion wants people to suffer, otherwise you and I would be dead already along with everyone else. They want to torment the soul of our bodies before reaping us with their claws.”
(Earth-1) Lex’s eyes squinted at Superman. “Really? You must think you have me all figure out, don’t you?” Luthor stood as close as possible to Superman, their slight size difference was evident but, it was obvious that Lex didn’t fear Superman and that no matter what Lex did now, Superman couldn’t hurt him..Lex was ‘where he belonged.’ “I’ll agree to help you find out who is behind all this AND help you find the Justice League…but I want some things in return. After all, a 10 minute consultation with me is 10 million dollars…I think my requests will be well within your watchtower’s budget…What do you say, Superman? Care to trade in her greatest adversary for your greatest ally?” Lex grinned, amused by the notion. No doubt Superman would wonder what the catch was, what did Lex Luthor gain? “And I know what you’re thinking, what do I gain out of helping you legitimately? How many people can say ‘I helped Superman save the Justice League’ ?”
Black Canary: Black Canary gave Luthor a look as he gave her a sarcastic response to what sounded like it was going to be a legitimate task for her. She smiled at the doctor, he seemed like a good soul, and really did care about the people about them, even if it wasn't as all business as Luthor. She smiled at him. "If you teach me how to turn on defensees or a sensory array and show me how to get to them on a map, I would be willing to do that, give the people here a fighting chance right? And it will keep me out of Luthors hair..." so to speak, she thought. Besides she wondered how things were going for Diana and Raven. she would sit and listen to Hamilton for any advice and instruction before going out. Besides, being cooped up in here made her fidgity. <d>
Superman: Superman’s arms folded over his chest, he stared down at the man while he considered the proposition. Lex was a puppeteer, there were always strings attached to every offer he made. “Hard to charge for a consult when you have no property rights, Lex.” The jab was something to save time, give the man some time to think. It was hard in these moments, hard to forget the lonely boy Clark had once tried to befriend had gone so far off the edge, until one looked at all the evidence. Clark was nowhere near naive enough to believe the man had a sudden change of heart or blast of humility, surely he had something ready for the long term. However, there was no increase in heart rate, no pupil dilation, it seemed Lex was truly curious and willing to help. He could ask him what the catch was, but with the other members of the League already in hot water, the main priority was finding them and then dealing with the consequences when they came. “I’ll secure your release into my custody,
Superman: and we’ll find them from there. And, I’m watching you.” With that, Superman moved to go and speak with the Warden. Some high level favors would need to be called in. “you’ll guide me to your lab,”
(Earth-1)Lex Luthor and Superman returned to his lab where he sent out multiple requests to Mercy for objects of need. Lex pointed to a basic computer setup. “Your Martian can transfer the information here for me to review. My lab will have everything we need otherwise. If not Mercy will fetch whatever we need.” If Superman contacted J’onn, J’onn would begin transferring information. “We are ready for the transfer, locking onto your communicator I will transfer to the computer that has an open access point.”
(Earth-48) Doctor Hamilton gave Black Canary the blueprints on a make-shift map, he drew a few markers to give her an idea where landmarks of the ‘new’ Metropolis. She would see the first defense parameter was nearby a downed Apartment complex, it was abandoned and broken, but a tower erect on the roof seemed partially damaged. Doctor Hamilton’s gaze fell to Black Canary’s eyes. “the Generators powering the defenses are stashed in the basement, to prevent anyone tampering with them, he blocked the door using heavy rocks and debris…you may need to move them. I left the instructions for them on these papers.” He placed the papers into a satchel and then offered it to Black Canary. “Inside there is a classic radio, it only has a two mile radius, you should be able to contact us and you shouldn’t go past that distance. Good luck and be careful out there.”
Wonder Woman: She looked at the man as he spoke, listening first as he talked to Raven, then as he spoke to her, her eyes narrowing, but not in a vicious or accusatory manner, merely trying to understand. "What happened to my people?" she asked, stepping forward, not needing enlightenment on the who; clearly this world's Amazons had suffered some unseemly fate. Perhaps slaves again? Or murdered en mass? Were Ares, Athena and Aphrodite unable to protect them? Or, perhaps in this reality her mother never reunited with Ares, leaving the War God out of the picture, bitter and vengeful towards his old consort? So many things rolled through her mind it was hard to keep focussed on what she needed to do, which was solve this problem, find out who was causing the current dire straights for this reality and then go home, to Themysicra. She looked to Raven and understood the predicament she was in, perhaps better than any of the other Titans or League members. -c-
Wonder Woman: By no stretch was the call of Ares as strong as Trigon, but that didn't mean that the bearer of peace was not often left with the nagging desire and lust for blood from her father. The older woman looked at the young girl, her face compassionate and non judgemental, "I cannot let you go alone, but I do not know how long we can trust Batman and Luthor with Canary." She set a hand on the other woman's shoulder, indeed feeling some connection, through the divine daddy issues and as she was, as mentioned before, a dear friend of Diana's sister, which was enough of a reason for the elder Amazon to approve of Raven. -e-
Superman: Superman kept both eyes on Lex and the number of computers at his command. “Good, make sure you keep the information sent secured, I don’t want Lex knowing any more than he has too, he’s dangerous enough when he can make assumptions, much more dangerous when he knows all he needs too, and I don’t care what he says, he’s not helping just to say that he did.” Superman had been considering the possibilities, a pardon from his prison sentence, a reduced sentence, all things he could use this opportunity for. Lex was a problem, and he’d like to believe that he had turned a new leaf and saw the error of his ways but he didn’t. Once the information was linked, Superman guided him to the traces of the signal used. “It’s a transport signal, almost identical to the one used to enter and exit the Phantom Zone, I’m sure they’ve been sent somewhere, I just need to know where.”
(Earth-1) “These are dimensional anomalies…” Lex spoke going into a deep thought, stroking his chin as those eyes scanned with speed far too slow to compare to his mind. He already knew the answer, but a good showman among other talents was Lex Luthor. “I was working on something like this before…it’s almost the *exact* carry wave my dimensional teleporter uses. Calibrated 5 years ago, I scrapped it because the energy requirement was too much to stabilize it.” He pointed at the waves to explain to Superman. “That is where they came from…” His finger traced a carrier wave to an end point. “That is where they are.” The waves looked almost exactly like radio waves, to a normal human being these were magnetic or radio waves unseen by the human eye, they required advance technology to study or review at this level of complexness. “If we plan to bring back your Justice League, we’ll need a sufficient power source capable of turbo charging the machine…”<c>
“I recommend Flash, Livewire, or Atomic Skull…any of them could generate enough power to stabilize the teleport process.”
Black Canary: Canary watched as the doctor gave her a makeshift map with blueprints on it. Noting the land marks of this metropolis. She looked over them, noting things. she nodded as he talked about the geneaerators and that the door to them was blocked. "That makes sense, I should be able to move some barricades, and your notes are thorough." She noted the stachel he gave her filled with the papers, just as well, she didn't have pockets. she gave him a small hug. "Thank you doctor. I appreciate the help and I will do my best to help you. Once I get the generators going I will give you a call on the radio. She slipped out of their base and made her way to the ground, in th distance she could see a ship and large creature and was that Diana and Raven? "I have my own mission, I hope yours goes well." she said outloud in case her friend could hear her. And she went down the ruined alleys trying her best to keep somewhat hidden so she wouldn't be interruped on her journey.
Raven: Raven took every single word inside of her mind, thinking and analyzing the situation very very carefully. Something wasn’t adding up. These creatures were something that she knew could have more than two faces when it came to the extent and reality of things. She said quiet and listened to what Diana questioned, staring at the creature’s face. However, when that came out to touch her, she slightly moved her shoulder, making Wonder Woman’s hand miss on purpose. She knew that Trigon was a powerful demon of interdimensional origin, but did this mean that he was known here? Raven probably would hesitate to go if the situation was different. Black Canary was probably in danger, but this was a chance to find out what was really going on. The need and want of her father to be gone forever was always bittersweet. There was always a chance. There was always a price to pay for it. Staring at Wonder Woman, then back at the demon, she finally made her decision. Her cold voice spoke through -c-
Raven: their ears, a simple command. Diana may have been Wonder Girl’s friend, but that didn’t mean anything in this world. The basic principles didn’t mean anything right now. Raven didn’t want to feel it, but she wondered if Zatanna felt this way when she refused to help her. “I’ll go alone. Go inside and protect Black Canary. I’ll be fine.” She stared at the demon. “You better not try anything sneaky. My father doesn’t like sharing this body with anyone.” With that, she spoke the next sentence to the Amazon. “Tell Batman and Black Canary a lie or don’t mention anything at all, but if I don’t come back in half an hour, then something is wrong.” Reaching over, she grabbed Wonder Woman’s shoulder and squeezed it lightly. It may have seen like a reassuring gesture and a friendly one, but in reality, it wasn’t. ‘Stay safe and don't react to my voice yet. React to it when you're inside.' Raven didn’t want to, but she had just created a mental connection with Wonder Woman. Turning to face -c-
Raven: demon, she gave a small nod, following it wherever he wanted her to go, her hood hiding her eyes as her cape was slowly swaying in the wind. It was probably better to not be the enemy of these creatures and to hear them out while they were still friendly, wasn’t it? -d-
Superman: Superman rubbed his chin, his arms folding over his chest. He couldn’t vibrate fast enough to create the energy. “First things first, how much power would we need and will there be any danger to the person powering the device. Secondly, and don’t try and mislead me, Luthor, is there any other way we can power this device?” He didn’t want to endanger any other members of the Justice league in the rescue of these few. He was intelligent, but when it came to seeing all contingencies, he needed the league and with them seperated, they were vulnerable. He was channelling Bruce, making sure all his bases were covered. “Manhunter, get on the coms, find The Flash and tell him where we are, if you can’t get a message to Supergirl to find him., she’ll be able to hear you even if she isn’t wearing her communicator.”
Last Daughter of Krypton: The wave hit her with a jolt, leaving no room for questioning. The Tower was under attack, someone was after the Justice League. It didn't matter who would show up that might be better equipped to help than she was, she needed to respond. As simply an auxillary member of the justice league, she wasn't on the main board as a member, but she sure as hell was a part of the team. At the moment, she didn't know where Kal El was, and she didn't want to risk wasting time. If there was a distress call sent from the tower, it meant there could be an attack. Kara's blue eyes hardened and she dropped the ice cream she'd been enjoying, tossing it into the nearest bin before lifting off into the skies with extreme speed. The blue and red haze spun behind her as she sped up and into space to reach the Tower, reaching the hangar and entering, fists clenched and eyes aglow with red heat. Her teeth clenched together as her head spun, searching for the danger.
(Earth-48) Eligos grinned at Wonder Woman. “They were slained, that is what happened to all of resided on Themyscira…There was no one worthy enough to stop us, your people were butchered like lambs to the slaughter. They fought to the last woman from what I’m told. I wasn’t there, to witness to tears of blood rolling down their faces.” He was a demon, and tempting of Diana’s wrath was what his nature was meant to do. “As you wish…” Eligos waved for the guards to let Wonder Woman leave their presence while they all turned to walk into the pod, allowing Raven to follow behind them. Raven would see inside the demon, it was a large monstrous creature, but it’s inner lined walls seemed to be framed with bones of the dead. Some of the walls had living creatures forged into them, groaning in agony and pain…A constant reminder of those who disobeyed their leader.
Batman would watch as Black Canary left and made his way to follow behind her as she left the compound, he would stop just at the surface and watch her leave into the distance…As she traveled she would hear the scurrying of critters along the streets, under debris. Small red demons began crawling like lizards on their hands and feet. Their gremlin like bodies slithered across the ground as they followed alongside her, keeping their distance as they mirrored her movements. The abandoned apartment building was roughly 3 stories high, but the debris surrounding it indicated it was once 7 or 8 stories high.
(Earth-1) Martian Manhunter looked to Supergirl as Superman spoke of her. “Not necessary, Supergirl is right here…I will explain the situation to her in a moment…Flash, Superman needs you in Metropolis, Lex Corp’s laboratory, I will send you a transmission of its coordinates…” J’onn turned his attention to Supergirl. “Four of our members have been teleported to an unknown location…Wonder Woman and Black Canary were among them and they were on board the Watchtower. Batman and Raven were also taken. We are right now searching for clues as to where they have been taken. Superman thinks Lex Luthor might have something to do with this…Superman, are you there? Shall I send Supergirl to assist you?”
Black Canary: Dinah noted Batman behind her as he followed her to the edge of the compound. "I'll be back. I you need me you know how to call me." she then dashed down the alleys, watching the gremlin-lizard like demons following at a distant, she didn't like them following, but had little choice at least they kept their distance. she was surprised with how much rubble was about it, it must have been pretty big, at least twice the size it is now. wow this city had taken a beating. she picked her way through the rubble, climbing over it if she had to, to jump across it, becing careful as it was all loose rubble. she got near the foundation and tried to get down into the basement <e>
Raven: When she walked behind them, Raven didn’t make a move to attack or anything. She took the scenery in, waiting for Wonder Woman’s voice. However, she knew that it was just a matter of time. Staring at the demon that was leading her to where its master was, she thought about her brothers. They were the rest of the sins, of course, but it was something she didn’t like to talk about. These creatures reminded her of them, though. The way this demon that was in front of her was trying to tempt Wonder Woman. It was something she didn’t approve of, of course, but she didn’t speak about it. It wasn’t her business to. Listening to the souls that were in pure agony, her cold eyes only stared. She wasn’t sure what her father was thinking or feeling nor did she want to know. Taking a step forward, the Titan thought of her leader, Robin. Both of them, actually. How they were really nice and would want to help these poor unfortunate souls in front of them. However, Raven thought differently. -c-
Raven: It wasn’t her choice nor was it her wish to save them. It was the cold and harsh truth, but right now, her heart was as cold as ice. She knew that not everyone could be saved and that sacrifices had to be made, whether it was the natural order of things or not, it was something that she was waiting to find out and see. However, staring at the creature in front of her, she knew that she had to save herself, Black Canary, and Wonder Woman. She wasn’t sure about the Batman yet and she didn’t even care for the Lex Luthor in this world or his companion. Instead of greeting this powerful demon, she got right down to business. “What’s your proposition?” -d-
Wonder Woman: His attempt to illicit violence and wrath from the Amazon almost worked, had she not been also told that they fought to the last breath, the last drop of blood. Even in death, if they fought well, her Sisters were honoured. The face of the Amazon remained impassive. "I certainly hope to avoid that at home then," she said, her voice even, if a little colder than before. She didn't react when the younger woman moved out of her touch; she knew that just because Diana felt a certain way about someone, especially females it seemed, the feeling wasn't always reciprocated. It was a curious thing, but Diana did not judge, nor did she judge when the youth decided she must venture forth alone, even if she didn't like it. Diana was a warrior, and allowing anyone to enter an unfair fight alone sat with incredible unease for her. She set her expression though and did get her hand on Raven's when the dark woman touched her shoulder, nodding gently. -c-
Wonder Woman: "May Gaea be with you," she said with a nod, her smile small, private and intimate, the type she would sent Donna or Cassandra off with. The voice in her head was something different, but Diana didn't react to it. She simply watched as Raven went off with the mysterious ... aliens, for lack of a better word. In her heart, she still wondered, watching those from elsewhere depart, where Hal was, and whether or not this world had a Hal Jordan. As the ships left she sighed and turned her attention back to the building, watching Batman and Dinah leave the building. "Canary," she called out softly, settling her boots down next to the blonde. "Raven has gone off with some demons, but she connected with me psychically. I thought you were going to wait inside?" she said, a little more incautiously than she had meant to. -e-
(Earth-48) Eligos’ ship took off and began to explain. “You see, this world never had heroes...There were no one special to stand up for this mortal plane…eventually they fell into despair and desperation. Poverty and war among their petty civilizations. Lust, debauchery, hunger, murder…It was Hell on Earth. God’s faith lost to them, they had nothing to believe in, no one to save them…Only their demons to eat them alive little by little.” The vessel would reach the mothership and land within a spore grove within the walls of its large massive sized spore pouch. Eligos would lead her out of the ship, his Doomguards followed behind Raven, almost trapping her in appearance but, she could almost sense their intent on protecting her, it was a powerful sensation. She could feel almost like royalty, a Princess among her people. Eligos walked through large halls of mucus layered corridors with the damned stuck inside, faces of sorrow and pain struggling to breathe or cry out for help. <c>
On the surface Dinah and Diana would enter the compound to see it was dark, debris filled the walls, the generator seemed to be stalled as its motor was cranking, but a piece of debris logged itself into a rotational blade causing it to lock in place.
Superman: Clark thought for a moment. She’d been up against the likes of Doomsday, but still, he wanted to be cautious. Kara had a tendency to say the wrong thing at the wrong time and that was a huge risk here and now. Still, she was his cousin, his teammate and a protector of Earth, if he were to be the example he wanted to be, he had to show trust even in the face of dangerous outcomes. Kara had been having some doubts lately and he assumed that those doubts would only increase if he benched her. “Yes, tell Supergirl to meet me and the Flash at Lexcorp Labs.” He waited until Lex was out of earshot, though kept him insight before dropping his voice. “And find Mercy Graves, Lex is being far too cooperative and I don’t want to trade one bad situation for another. No need to intercept her, just keep her in sight. Also, Manhunter...try and keep an eye on Lois, I don't want her knack for getting herself into trouble to show it's face here."
Black Canary: Canary looked over her shoulder hearing a sound and smiled as Wonder Woman arrived beside her. Her smirk faded, when she heard about raven and at Diana's tone. "I was, but I was of no help there. I'm going to help Hamiliton to restore this city's defenses. I'm almost there." She paused a moment. "You shouldn't have let Raven go though. She is part demon and being here might tempt her too much. YOu can join me if you want. I have to clear some of this debris to find a generator and turn it on." she led Diana down into the basement. they would clear debris together until they found the generator. Canary was surprised it ws still trying to run. "If you hold the blade to keep it from moving, I'll take the rock out of it, maybe we can get this thing running again." she smiled.
Wonder Woman: "She needs to face some tests on her own," Diana said, thinking of when she faced off against Ares and found the truth about herself, and about the Rape of the Amazons. "She will be strong enough," she spoke with a clear tone, hoping that Raven could hear her, or at least feel the confidence the Amazon possessed in the woman. "Raven is powerful, and yes so is the darkness, but I think she has it in her to do what is best for herself and her friends." She followed Dinah into the building, and nodded regarding the cleaning of the debris. It was nothing for the Amazon to move the larger chunks out of the way, boulders of concrete with rebar sticking out at odd angles moved as if she were pushing Styrofoam. She moved to the blade and gripped it carefully. "Ready when you are," she said, smiling as Dinah worked on her task. -c-
Wonder Woman: Even under these odd circumstances, it still felt good to be working with Dinah again. It had been a while since they had been drawn together by Circe's plot to extract revenge on their mothers through them, and since another attempt had been made to push them apart. -e-
Raven: A normal person would feel tense in her situation. They would probably question everything and Raven was, but she was doing it quietly. She listened to his words and the story of the past. Something still wasn’t adding up. Raven kept listening, following the man, not even moving when the ship kept moving. These demons seemed to have known what was going on and the humans seemed to have been destroying themselves because there wasn’t a precious God or heroes. When the ship went inside a bigger ship, Raven still seemed like herself. She knew why the demon was protecting itself, but it was a two-sided sword. She couldn’t escape as easily now if the demon did attack, but something was telling her they weren’t. Moving one shoe after the other, the half-demon followed the man. The dogs were behind her, which she took note of, but she never took her eyes off of her target. The feeling of protection was washed over her, but she wasn’t fooled. She knew how demons worked. They wanted -c-
Raven: sympathy, pity, and if they got to you, then they would probably take your soul. Not all demons were the same stereotypes that they were evil. No, Raven knew better than that. Good demons would be nice to you, treat you well, and leave a huge chunk out of information to lure you in. She didn’t hear Trigon in her mind, but she knew he was watching the scene carefully as well. When the people started screaming from the side of the ship, she didn’t hesitate with her steps. Her eyes changed, though. Those beautiful purple eyes that were usually cold soon turned colder. They had no emotion behind them and her heart was building up walls of pure ice. Of course she could hear the agonizing souls, but in reality, they wouldn’t be saved. At least, not by her. After a few moments, though, something hit her, but she remained the same icy sorceress. Her lips wanted to twitch, but her face remained frozen. So…Diana had hope in her, but Black Canary only had a bit of it? That was interesting. -d-
Black Canary: Dinah smiled back at her friend. LIke old times working together. It might sound silly, but she really felt like she was s sister, especially with their connection from their mom's friendship. she almost wish they could have met growing. Doing this together almost seemed more like an adventure than a disaster aid mission. Dinah was glad Wonder woman was there to help. she made the big pieces look like they weighed nothing. she would have had to canary cry them if she was alone and would have been exhaustd by the time she got to the generator. Trusting her friend completly as she grabbed the generator blade she cllimbed up and pulled the debris out with both hands, she pushed it over the side of the machine and got out of the way. "Anytime Princess, cross your fingers." she smirked.
Last Daughter of Krypton: Kara reached the Manhunter and looked him over before glancing around the Tower again. "Is there no battle? I received the distress signal. I..." she visibly relaxed some, feeling slightly stupid now, arriving with such fierceness and openly ready for combat that apparently wasn't taking place. She listened to J'onn and nodded, blue eyes descending as she thought. Her cousin was with Lex Luthor, her suspicions raised and she grew more and more worried. Lex Luthor, she'd been told quite a lot about him and Kal had the air about him that he might not be such a bad person. But Kara hadn't joined him in his thoughts thus far. She pondered over the four Justice League members being taken. Questions spun through her but she was sure what needed to be told to her would be. Eagerly, she awaited her orders.
(Earth-48) Eligos lead her to a large chamber, the floor made of pink flesh stretched out from what appeared to be a large monster of some kind… Standing tall and at a height of 12 feet head to toe and then its large horns protruded towards the sky, spikes from its shoulders. A large and long demonic tail slithered through the air behind him. He turned to acknowledge Raven. She would recognize him almost immediately. ~Welcome…half-spawn of Trigon.~ His mental link connected to her and would feedback to Wonder Woman. ~….Pain…Suffering…Anger…Hatred…Lust…Agony…Loneliness…Pride…Embrace us. We welcome you into our ranks…Rachel Roth…The Black Raven.~ i30.servimg.com/u/f30/17/10/72/87/1000px10.jpg
Wonder Woman: Diana smiled as Dinah told her to cross her fingers, "I'd rather pray to Hephestus... or Athena... or... I don't know who is responsible for electrical generators," she chuckled. She released the blade and let it fall into a resting position as Dinah came out and tried to start the generator. "I hear your Mother and Mine had a bit of a team up," she said by means of small talk, disipating the antsy feeling she was getting. Gaea protect Raven, she thought, praying the Earth Mother would keep the young half demon safe.
(Earth-1) Martian Manhunter listened to Superman and then gave a meld with Superman to share an idea…The thought would be a tactically wise decision for dealing with Lex Luthor. The idea would best not be revealed right now, but Superman could agree to it or disagree and Martian Manhunter would take it into the planning phase. “Superman wants your help, but first I am asking him a question of my own…I will fill you in, if Superman approves.” Supergirl would then receive this information upon Superman’s approval. If not, Supergirl would be left clueless to what the Martian was planning. Meanwhile Lex Luthor worked on the computer and then stood up as his assistants arrived, Lex waved to the teleporter that was brought into the lab. “Excellent. Where’s the Flash?” it was just in that moment, Flash showed up holding a hotdog he was finishing eating. <c>
“Sorry I’m late. What’s happening?” “We need you to stabilize my teleportation device. Superman is looking to rescue some of your Justice League members from another dimension.” Lex’s eyes went back to Superman, as if amused by Superman’s plan.
Black Canary: Dinah gave a little laugh and smirk at Diana's joke. "hehe, I don't know who cares for electrical generators. I think those two are close enough." she waited to see if the generator worked properly after their help. she smiled hearing about their mothers. "Yeah recently too! Seems like teamwork and frienship runs in our families. I'm glad they could help each other out. I just wish Circe would leave us all alone. but there isn't much to stop a goddess with a grudge is there?" she smirked. she thought of raven. she trusted the magic user, she just knew how warped this place was and didn't like the thought of her alone her, you can't leave someone in the belly of the enemie and not worry, even if they are determined to to do it alone.
Superman: Superman seemed distracted for a moment, then after his mental confirmation, he turned back to Lex. “She will be arriving, shortly. I’d hate to have her sitting on her hands during this anyway, it should be good training.” He meant those words as much for J’onn as he did for Lex and hoping that his green friend could pick up on those intentions. After a brief look to Lex, his suspicions still evident behind his blue eyes he moved to Barry. “Glad to have you with us, Flash. Black Canary, Raven, Batman, and Wonder Woman have been transported to another universe, we need to duplicate the signal used to transport them from our dimension and to the other dimension and you’re the only one available who could sustain the power of the transporter long enough for us to pull our friends out. Lex should be able to explain the rest.”
