[DCU] Featured - RoT WoRLd: Metropolis
Story and Written by: Bruce
"We must take the fight to them. I'm sick of losing ground after ground and comrades falling by the dozen." Were the words of Superman to his remaining comrades. "Agreed but, they keep pushing forward. Metropolis will be the next battleground and we need to come up with something." were the words of the Flash as his gaze shifted to Green Lantern and Batman. Superman took to the response. "Yes, I know. I've asked Batman to go to Metropolis and help assemble a militia and hopefully look after Lois." Green Lantern smirked. "I could've done it and more for you and without the need of a militia." Batman would comment to Lantern, those blue eyes exchanging with Lantern's. "If we're going to defeat the army of Undead, we're going to need every able body person, not just one man, Lantern." "Alright, so as for our attack plan..."
It would be a week later in the empty streets of Metropolis, Lois Lane's head peaked around the corner as her hands gripped the rail of an M-16. Those sapphire stones within her eyes settled upon a group of five zombies ravaging a group of dead bodies with their teeth. She crouched and pressed the stock of the gun to her shoulder as she raised the rifle. She fired multiple times, the shots struck the zombies in the head promptly dropping two of them forcing their pustulent bodies to drop to the ground. Lois would see their pink pig like leathery flesh split and pop like pimple waiting to burst. The remaining three turned towards her and screamed as they dashed towards her. She stood up and began walking backwards, firing only a few more shots that would rip the leg off another zombie forcing them to stumble and crash into the ground.
Lois flicked the safety on her gun and twisted her body shifting its direction to flee and run as fast as she can. Her running shoes bounced as she made small leaps, her pony tail dangled and bobbed behind her like a rabbit's foot at the race track. The Zombies attention concentrated and focused on her bobbing head that when three men hurled Molotov cocktails at them, they were incinerated before they realized what hit them. She ran and ducked into an underpass of a street where she felt the hand of Bruce Wayne upon her back. He peered around the corner to observe the flames that destroyed the zombies.
She looked back at Bruce and said with a voice of confidence and pride. "See that?" Bruce smirked and gave her shoulder blades a gentle pat. "Impressive. What about the bigger ones?" Lois shrugged. "Well, we're working on a plan for those...I heard about Gotham seems very chaotic, I'm sure this isn't what you were expecting when you came here, is it Mr. Wayne?" Bruce gave a sheepish smile and a shrug of his shoulders. "It was actually luck. I was outside of the city and decided it was better to be inside the city and around more people..." "Yeah, you've said that before...You don't watch many zombie movies do you, Bruce?"
"Not really." Lois would give him a quick and skeptical once over with her eyes. "Well, lucky for you, Batman helped form a resistance cell here in Metropolis and guess what, Rich guy? You're gonna learn to shoot a gun." Bruce grinned. "Martial Arts won't do?" "Sure if you want...right, you don't watch zombie movies. Look, trust me. You can go all Bruce Lee on them, but it won't make a difference. You gotta shoot them in the head or burn them to a crisp. Got it? Kill or be killed situation here."
Bruce gave a confirming nod. "Alright, lead on."
