Basic Information
Player Nickname: Martian Manhunter
Do you want other role players to give you feed back? Yes
Which DCU Earth are you applying to?: Earth 4
Character Origin: Mixed. Comics and Justice League television show, though I believe it is at least mostly the same as the portrayal of the character in the comics.
Face Claim's Name: Idris Elba
Name: J'onn J'onzz
Alias: The Martian Manhunter / John Jones
Race: Martian
Age:
Birthday:
Alignment: Lawful Good
Height: Six feet, seven inches. (John Jones, 6'2")
Weight: Three-hundred pounds. (John Jones, 190lbs)
Hair: None (John Jones, Black)
Eyes: Red (John Jones, Brown.)
Physique: Based on his concept of 'ideal' human. Lean but muscular.
Training: Manhunter training, the 'law enforcement' or 'peacekeepers' of Mars.
Equipment: As John Jones he carries some typical, simple, law enforcement equipment such as: Handcuffs, pepper spray, tazer.
Powers / Abilities
(List as many as you need)
Super Strength apparently similar in level to that of Superman or Wonder Woman.
Rapid Healing or regeneration. He is able to reform his body even after being torn apart.
Form control, shape shifting. Able to manipulate is form and take on any shape he may wish. This includes not only 'shape' but increasing or decreasing in size.
Intangibility. Able to pass through solid objects at will.
Invisibility.
Invulnerability- The Manhunter can withstand a great amount of physical punishment without any real harm. A blow from a super powered being that could rip apart a person of typical durability may do nothing at all to the Martian.
Telepathy. One of the most powerful telepaths to be found on Earth and possibly in the entire universe. Not only able to read other beings thoughts but also control others minds, change or implant memories and transfer information instantly to others. He can also create illusions within the minds of others and can act as a switchboard to allow others that are not telepathic to 'link' and communicate through him.
Weaknesses
(List as many as you need)
Susceptible to fire. This is more of a psychological weakness in nature as flames to do physical burn and harm him, but they do cause him to weaken and eventually fall into a coma like, unconscious state. As such flames of a magic nature or otherwise from a being's 'power' are more effective than, say, a flare.
Telepathy. Due to the fact he is not only a transmitter but also a receiver his mind is more 'open' and able to be influenced by beings greater than himself and/or beyond his understanding.

Audition post
His mind drifted towards the past as it sometimes did. To his lost world. His lost home. His lost people. To his finding and gaining those things anew on a different planet. Those early days, almost lost in the sea of human thoughts and then attempting to live among them. His beginnings as a private eye. The woman he had tried to form a bond and have a life with. Her loss due to his work and his initial unwillingness to use the natural abilities that he could have so drawn upon. It was then he knew he could not simply be a man, but must indeed be a Martian. That he must use his power so that he not fail himself and would not fail those beings that he had come to care about. Of course it meant that others must take notice of his presence. He knew that he could no longer simply hide among them. Action would have to be taken and justice had to be done if he were going to be able to live with himself. His thoughts moved back towards the present.
In the control center of the Watchtower he stood, unmoving, stoic. Arms crossed over his chest as he gazed out through the large viewing screen down onto the small blue planet below. Human. Such small beings. Big hopes. Big dreams. Big worries. Big fears. Yet... isolated. Trapped within their own selves, their own minds. Limited by their inability to share such things with us except through the most inefficient, maybe even primitive, means. Words mostly, but other ways too; art, music, literature, poetry. If only they could truly connect with one another. And yet part of him loved them for that, maybe envied their ability to continue to live and thrive while being... alone. He did not think that he could have done the same. Not if he had not always been that way, not being what he was, not knowing what he knew.
He felt the presence of the other being behind him before he had spoken, even though he had moved silently, as he always did. He would not acknowledge this until the man had spoken though. "John." Somehow even just a word, just the tone of the man's voice could be... intimidating, even for a being such as himself. "Batman." A simple response as the man had moved to check some of the computers and then stare himself out of the viewing screen for a short while, silent, before speaking again. "Trouble?" It was the kind of direct bluntness that he came to expect from the man. "Nothing that they cannot handle." Of course there was trouble; thief, assault, rape, murder. Such things were constant upon the planet. Perhaps it wasn't that they could handle it, but that they should have been the ones to do so for themselves. Who were they, upon their tower, to impose their will down on humanity? Should they have done so? Should he have mentally lobotomized every person acting in a criminal fashion down on the planet? According to whose laws? To enforce some would have been to violate others, no doubt.
Eyes shifting slightly in his head towards the form of the Caped Crusader, The Dark Knight. Sometimes he worried, even feared, that Batman might have been willing to do just that, to impose his law and his justice on all. Mankind did not wish to be ruled by Gods above them though and he felt that as long as Batman were not able to convince Superman or the others of the need to do so, then there was... probably... little to fear. He did not believe that the man trusted him, at least not completely, but maybe he did not trust anyone that way. The mind of Batman was one of those that he did not wish to know, did not want to peer into. Batman turned to leave and he had watched him go, "I'm heading down." Batman had not really needed to ask him if there was trouble, he could and would find his own. "Understood. Take care of yourself." There was no need for and he didn't expect a further response. The man was already gone on his way to continue his work and he had gone back to his own. Returned to his silent, lonely vigil upon the Watchtower.
For a moment he considered heading down to the planet. In his guise of John Jones, the detective, he could do some other work. Could help. The problems might have been... smaller... but no less important to involved and concerned with them. No, he was needed there on the Tower. Yes, others could keep track of and monitor the goings on of the world. In an emergency though he could contact other members of the league, all of them even, essentially immediately. He could allow them to communicate and collaborate through him where some kind of conference call may have been otherwise impractical or impossible. Only if necessary, only if it were important. The isolation, as he viewed it, of their minds was also their sanctuary. He could not, would not, violate that. Would not 'invade' their minds, knowing they may see it as such. So for the time being he would remain, as he had for most of his time since the loss of his people, alone.
