Power - Criminal Mastermind: The Joker is a man bred from chaos, he feeds off of his schemes torturing others as he feels he was tortured through his life. Even though insane, The Joker is often times seen as, whether intentionally or accidentally, a brilliant criminal who is hard to outsmart and even harder to prepare for.
Power - Deception: Joker is known for his ability to convert weaker minds to his line of thought, though scattered as it may be. He has been seen to target those with similar mental disorders and using his vast intelligence and ability to read people, force them to do his bidding.
Power - Brawler: While not proficiently trained in any standard form of Martial arts, Joker is quite an adequate fighter. No where near the skill that the Bat Family possess, he is shown to be quite competent at winning fights against those with equal levels of skill by simply being naturally good at inflicting pain.
Power - Maniacal Strength: Joker, while slender in appearance, has been shown to be stronger than his size lets on. Possibly due to the violent psychotic states he enters and the effects this has on his body. Many psychologists and scientists accept the fact that people in psychotic episodes seem to garner an intense amount of strength from some unknown effect on the body. Though formidable, Joker is still no where near superman or Batman’s level of strength.
Power - Mental Fortitude: Yes, it sounds strange to talk about the mental fortitude of a man who is as insane as the Joker, but due to his insanity he has been shown to be near immune to most forms of interrogation/torture, finding the pain and tactics used against him ‘funny’.
Power - Resistant to many poisons, hallucinogens and immune to his own “Joker Gas”: The Joker is known to be immune to the poison known as Joker gas, this is explained by his own use of the product and a tolerance being built up over many years. He’s also been shown to have immunity to the Scarecrow’s fear gas. Also, due to the exposure of so many toxic chemicals that caused the transformation of his clown like face one, would assume he has a high resistance to to other poisons and drugs as well.

Weakness - Insanity: While making him hard to predict and thereby allowing him to be one of Batman’s most formidable opponents. The level of delusions Joker suffers from often take him to a place where it’s hard to focus on a discernible goal. While this does lend a hand in forcing the members of the Bat Family to have a hard time getting ahead of him, it also serves to stop from ever achieving an actual goal because his motivations change so often.
Weakness - No formal training: Due to a lack of martial arts training the Joker usually is forced to resort to underhanded tricks and tactics to survive or escape from direct conflicts with members of the Bat family. A competent fighter he may be, but that’s hardly suitable to contend toe to toe with people who have trained for several years in several different disciplines.
Weakness - Obsession: Though he is at times lucid enough to know that he will probably be foiled by the Bat family, his obsession with their own ‘insanity’ as he perceives it prevents him from ever truly walking away or going into hiding. There for, the one advantage that the Bat Family has when it comes to dealing with the Joker is that he will always offer more evidence because he cannot stop the evil things he does.
Weakness: Narcissism: The Joker believes that he and The Batman were born polar opposites of one another, that his entire purpose is to oppose the good that Batman does in the world. While never really underestimating his opponent, he often finds ways to taunt him into action to further support this believe. Stating many times that things will only end when one of them kills the other one. Due to this, he considers himself the most important of Batman’s enemies and often times makes trouble for himself by recklessly drawing their attention as well.

Year 0: I like the idea of who the Joker was before he became the Joker being a mystery. My intent is to have him invent several ‘origin’ stories to explain how he became who he was without anyone ever knowing if any or all of them may be true.
Year 1 (2008)
(Keep these brief and treat them like bullet points.)
-Joker’s first appearance in Gotham
-The Joker begins robbing different Mob bosses under the guise of opposing families in an attempt to start a criminal civil war in Gotham.
-The Joker meets Batman
-The Joker begins working to descend Gotham into chaos by driving it’s most prominent members insane.
Year 2 (2009)
-The Joker is Captured and sentenced to life in Arkham.
-The Joker begins driving the head of Psychology at Arkham insane.
-Due to his insanity, The Head psychologist at Arkham has begun torturing the subjects. These acts lead to a mass revolt and several prominent prisoners escaping, including the Joker.
-The Joker continues on his crime spree with no end goal or real strategy in sight.
Audition post
The shadows danced across all planes of vision, the warehouse was cold, eerily quiet, though punctuated by the unmistakable and oddly timed giggle of a mad man. The Clown prince of crime had blood on his hands again, but this wasn’t some mobster or lowlife, this was the blood of a true enemy, a protege’, a son. Another maniacal giggle tore through the air. He knew he was here, he was angry, would today be the day he’d succeed, was today a bad enough day to push the Cowl past the point of no return? He hoped so. He’d done so much, caused so much terror when bound by that one rule, if Joker could just get him to break it, then the fun would really begin.
“You know, Batty, I really thought you’d get there in time, today was the day that he really needed you and that’s when you’re best at showing up.” Another wild cackle and a clank of dirty shoes on metal walkways. “It reminds me of a story, it’s sad at first, but don’t worry! The endings a real knockout. See, when I was nine, we had this little birdhouse in our front yard, and every day this little robin would come and eat the food and drink the water. Well, sweet innocent me went out one day to avoid another of dear old daddy’s drunken rages and I tried to pet the little fellow. Wouldn't you know it, it jumped right on my finger. I had a friend! Me! So, everyday I’d go out and I’d put the little robin on my shoulder and we’d have oodles of fun. Well, about two weeks go by and Dad’s at it again.”
Another shrill laugh. “The old dog did love his drink, can’t fault him for that, you know. But, this time ranting and raving is not enough, he starts beating my mother. Hitting her again and again. She sobs and cries for help and there's nothing I could do!” The mock panic in his voice was far too obvious for anyone to believe the distress. “You know what he did next? He looked at her, all beautiful and bloody and he started crying, and telling her that he loved her and he’d never do it again and she, she held him. She told him it would be okay!” His laughter grew darker, his voice growing colder. “I was soooo angry, I went outside, and I grabbed my little robin and I started pulling it’s wings off. It made this horrible sound that mingled with the bones snapping like a symphony of torment.”
“Well, you can imagine when the little guys wings came clean he fell, sputtering on the ground and squawking awfully. So, I told it I loved it, and I was sorry, and I’d never do it again.” His laughter increased to the point of being hysterical before he stepped from the shadows and into the sight of the caped crusader. “Don’t you get it, Batty? Can’t you see the joke? If we both loved our Robins like we said we did, they’d both still be alive. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
