Villainess: Trouble in Paradise, Metropolis style. It was another bright afternoon in metropolis. People were just starting to leave work, the traffic was starting to fill the streets, kids were doing afternoon activities with clubs and youth groups. Businessmen were loosening their ties and wandering into their favorite drinking establishments. After all, Happy Hour was just starting. And at one such bar called 'Paradise', a modern throwback to the old tiki lounge, was known for it's wonderful Pina Coladas and 12 kinds of margaritas on tap. a Mr Norm Hollander, senior accoutant, for Bixby's Accounting, a regular at Paradise, and collector of salt and pepper shakers, opened the door to his favorite bar. He was shocked as 3 pigs, 4 dogs, 2 goats, and a Horse came running out, nearly trampling him. Animals in Paradise? He never heard of such a thing! He poked his head in. "Hey Mike? What's going on?" a ravishing dark skinned woman with purple hair and flashing eyes smiled at him, from behind the bar, polishing a glass. "Oh, he had to see a man about a horse... I'm manning things for him, while he's gone." she said the word 'manning' with obvious distaste. "So what can I get you tonight Norm?" the man came in and blinked. "How... how do you know my name?" "Oh, I know all your names... Want your regular? Lemon Martini served dirty?" she teased. Reports of the animals flooding out of a bar, came across the news desk at the Daily Planet.A postcard suddenly appeared on the desk of the Themscrya Ambassador's desk. It had an image of the skyline of metropolis on it. Written in purple ink was the message 'Darling Diana, I'm having the time of their lives here. You should join me for cocktails. ~Love, Circe." It could have been a prank... it didn't even have a postage stamp or stamp the postmaster as it went through the mail... but flipping the card over the card no longer showed Metropolis, but the front of a bar called 'Paradise'.
Superman: Clark placed the final period on the end of his article and emailed it directly to Perry with a haste like never before. It was Friday and that meant that, barring some disaster or another, he had the next two days to himself, he was sure that some time would be spent in the skies, reminding the citizens of Metropolis that Superman was still around and keeping an eye on things, but it had been quiet for a while and he was looking forward to several things. He had set aside a bit of time for attempting to decipher the symbols that had been discovered in Egypt that matched those engraved on his ship and possibly a visit to the farm to catch up with his mother, it had been a couple of weeks. His jacket was thrown over his shoulders, the last one out of the building and he set his stride for the elevators when he heard it, the sound that meant all of his plans would have to wait. “Who’s out there? Kent! Glad to see you, we got a whole mess of animals crowding the streets downtown, reports say they started in some bar called Paradise, need you to go and check it out, see if it’s planet worthy.” He began to object, opened his mouth to tell him that he’d just finished one article that probably wouldn’t get printed and was looking forward to a break, but, before he could speak Perry had shoved an address into his hand was walking away. “I’ll have that kid...what’s his name, Olsen! I’ll have Olsen meet you with his camera, call me when you get there.” Clark slumped slightly and stepped onto the elevator, riding the rickety machine down and tucking the paper into his pocket. He knew every inch of Metropolis and had no need for it. When he was sure he wouldn’t be seen he ran, covering the distance in no time and arriving at the police barricades a block up from the bar. His notepad flipped open he made his way through the crowd to first uniformed officer he could see.“Officer, Officer! Clark Kent, Daily Planet, what’s going on here?” The man stepped forward and continued ushering people back. “We have no information at this time, we’re currently rounding up the animals and awaiting animal control now please clear the way.” The guy was obviously upset himself, his shift would have ended when Clark was getting off and with an entire city block needing to be secure he knew he wasn’t going home until it was all said and done. “Can you confirm where this started?” “I can’t confirm anything, Mr Kent, now please get back!” The crowd parted allowing the animal control van to enter and four retrieval specialists to exit, equipment in hand. Clark was never going to get home waiting for all this to end, so he slipped away into a nearby alley and changed. Not exactly a job for Superman, but helping the city was what he did.
Wonder Woman: Diana let out a deep sigh as she entered her office, running a hand back through her dark hair. She had been active in the United States just long enough to make an impression, sometimes positive, sometimes negative, and find and subsequently lose, a man who on most days seemed decent. Once again, she found herself rather alone in a world which, depending on how the wind blew, loved her or thought she was out to "steal their freedom." This is why the postcard on her desk, a lone, singular piece of mail, signifying that it was not part of the regular post delivery, which made it odd. The security at the embassy was strict, but not as antiseptic as some places, it wouldn't be surprising to find that one of Diana's admirers, Fleet Hermes, had been able to slink through security, or that a messenger sent from her Mother, would pass through on her own accord, given a free pass, being the messenger for the Queen. Her slender fingers picked up the small card, examining the front. "Metropolis" she said, her brows furrowing as she turned it over. "By Hera," she said, seeing the beautiful cursive and the signature. Circe was in Metropolis? Oh Goddess... "Diana?" the voice of one of her aids came through the air, the young woman leaning into the office. "Have you turned the television on? Oh, who'm I asking?" she laughed. The slightly overweight, pink haired, Etta Candy moved into the office and turned on the television. "It looks like they found an exotic animal smuggler in a bar in Metropolis!" the girl explained excitedly as the Metropolis News Channel broadcast live footage. The two women watched as the excited and nervous news caster, described what was going on, commenting about the animals that were escaping from the bar. Diana's eyes locked on the name of the bar, which was leading her to believe this was no coincidence. Paradise? Diana thought to herself. Hitting it a little on the nose, aren't you? The stories her mother told her of Circe made the witch out to be far more clever than that. It quickly added up. If Diana had been reserved before, she was resolute. Circe was in Metropolis and causing trouble. "Not quite," Diana muttered. "Cancel my appointments," she said, turning the TV off and pushing Miss Candy out of her office. In no time Wonder Woman was en route to Metropolis, streaking through the air. -e-
Villainess: People who knew animals, would identify some peculiarities with the animals that were on the streets. The goat was a Vlahiki Goat, indigenous to Greece. And the horse looked built like a Roman war horse, or at least from the pictures in history books. Police Barricades had been placed about the Tiki Bar, once they figured out where the animals had came from. Some police had gone in and hadn't come out yet. As Superman came up to the bar, an officer would be preventing anyone from getting too close. Declining news to press. "I'm sorry, but we have no information at this time, we are still investigating leads about this animal incident." Suddenly the door of the bar flew open and two squealing pigs came running out, stumbling over each other to get out and nearly knocking the officer over. As superman came over the officer would look relieved. He said in a hushed tone. "Superman, two of my men went in, and well... only animals have come out..."
Superman: Superman helped the Sergeant to his feet after the pigs tumbled into him, he turned to see the animal control specialists securing ties around them and guiding them toward one of the many pens they had brought. The animals in question, usually docile creatures seemed to be agitated, to say the least. He turned to look toward the building and nodded. “If they’re in there Sergeant, I’ll bring them back. Focus your efforts on holding the barricade.” Something was definitely amiss, these animals were not from the area, not even from the local zoo and they kept pouring out of this one bar. Paradise wasn’t a local hot spot by any means, but it was a favorite happy hour location for several men and women who worked near by. Stepping past the broken doors, Superman was cautious, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel rushed. The voice in the back of his mind urging him on. “Get in, figure out, get home.” He’d been up against problems before, he’d kept Metropolis safe for over a year, surely a few strange animals were no huge threat. “Hello? Is anyone in here, is anyone hurt?”
Wonder Woman: The barricade would naturally be no barrier to the Amazon as she entered the scene from the sky, causing a sea of gasps to rise from the assembled crowd. At first, they were confused; Superman had already gone inside, and this figure looked nothing like the man of steel. It looked nothing like a man! In fact, it looked like a... woman? She landed soundlessly in front of the Sergeant. "And just who are you?" "Wonder Woman," she said, having grown comfortable with the name the press in gateway had given her, though clearly her fame wasn't nearly as far stretching as she had thought it was. The man looked her over, noting her bare legs and arms, the bustier and briefs, his head tilting to the side. "Stop that," she muttered and rolled her eyes, for going the briefing with this man and entering the building. "You can't go in there! Besides, Superman's already inside!" "And he isn't alone," Diana continued on without looking back or hesitating, ducking her head as she flew into the open door way. "Circe!" she called out into the darkness. -e-
Villainess: Superman would get a strange sight as he walked into the bar, a bear of man, or was it a man of a bear, was seated at the bar drinking a martini. The largest bear Clark would have ever seen. seated about were some large boar men, a lion, and what looked like a Centaur. There was also a couple of white tigers on top of the bar drinking from margarita glasses filled milk. Scritching one of the tiger's cheek was a tall purple haired woman. in a green gown that left little to the imagination. She greeted him as he came in. "Superman, I'm delighted you could join us for happy hour, darling. What can I get you? Whiskey?" she teased. And then a flash of red, blue, and gold entered the bar. "Ah, the Princess. Or are you calling yourself these days? Ambassador? I see you got my little invitation. Margarita? They have Watermelon." she offered as she started to fill a glass for her.
Superman: Clark made a mental note as he tried to wipe the confused look from his face, x-ray before entering. He composed himself and stood straighter, it was clear he wasn’t going to get in and out as easy as he thought he would, still he was more than confident he’d end the dilemma like he had the others. “I don’t drink.” He tried to remain casual, focusing his vision and stepping closer, looking for any basement area or the location of the police officers the Sergeant had mentioned. He saw nothing, at least nothing that betrayed the location of the officers that entered. He felt strange, something was amiss, the air was different. It was a weight you couldn't feel, but you knew it was there, his eyes turned to Circe, opening his mouth to speak before Wonder Woman entered behind him. She was every bit the woman all the news stories made her out to be. “Wonder Woman?” He had been keeping track of all others with abilities that helped people, marking them in his mind should he ever cross their path. His eyes turned back to the woman behind the bar. “Circe? You two know each other?” He was itching to get to the bottom of this problem, but hitting first and asking questions later was a fool’s philosophy and if Wonder Woman was involved in this whole ordeal, he’d need a bit more information before implementing a strategy. -e-
Wonder Woman: "Change them back, Circe," she said, coming to stop to Superman's right, slightly in front of the man. She didn't know Superman well, her eyes did scan him though. She had heard about Superman before, but she had never met him. "Introductions will have to come later," Diana said to Superman, offering him a nod. "And yes, this is Circe," she said with her blue eyes moving to take in the witch with her purple hair and green gown. "She... well, she's a sorceress," her eyes narrowed and sharpened. "You need to turn these men back into humans, Circe," she demanded, her voice becoming more solid, stronger and loud. "This is your last warning," she said, her hand reaching for the lasso at her hip. If she could wrap Circe with it, everything would be easy as pie, she thought; still young and rather rash, Diana didn't foresee any issue with it. She was the best Amazon warrior there was, after all, and her Mother had bested Circe on many occasions. Right?
Villainess: As superman commented that he didn't drink, Circe gave a little laugh and then slapped her forehead. "I'm sorry, I forgot. Farm boys can't hold their liquor. I should know better." she gave a slight gesture with a hand suddenly Clark was wearing denim overalls over his superman uniform."Are you looking for those police men? Those pigs. They were bringing down the spirits here, so I kicked them out of the bar." she said with a smile to her voice. As Diana spoke the purple-haired woman mimicked her as she told her to change the men back, mocking her with a sneer. She put her hand out for Superman to shake. "As the Amazon was so generous to do introductions for us. I'm Circe. But I'm afraid she is wrong. I was a Sorceress a thousand years ago... I'm a Goddess. The beasts around them started to stand up and the tigers growled as a tone was heard in Wonder Woman's voice. "Careful Diana, you're upsetting my friends." the animals had circled the two now. Their eyes seemed to be a bit distant as if something else was leading them.
Superman: Clark found himself wearing overalls that would have made Jonathan Kent’s day and scowled, his expression turning to shock as she fully admitted to changing human beings into animals. “Change them back? You mean those animals out there, are human beings?” He stepped past Wonder Woman, not flinching in the slightest at the aggression from the animals before him. Goddess? Surely she couldn't claim that she was -the- Circe, she had some power, Clark could feel it, he couldn't explain how, but it was like every nerve was on edge, but a Goddess from the Greek Pantheon? He couldn't believe it. “I don’t know who you are or how you've done it, but you will change them back.” He was used to the seedier element backing down to him, sure she would be no different, call it cocky, or confident, he was over talking about it. He was only a few feet from her, surrounded by her animal friends. “And I’ll be needing my clothes back.” -e-
Wonder Woman: "She uses her powers to turn men into the animals she thinks they act like," she turned to Superman. "All of these animals are actually the patrons of this bar, and I suppose several actual pigs must have run out of the bar earlier?" she asked, taking a quick count of the animals who were rising up. "Can you slow the animals down? Bearing in mind that they are really men... or were..." Diana perhaps had more experience with fighting the mystical elements, and was used to people not necessarily bowing to her whims. She had traveled through Hades in the past, and come face to face and gone toe to toe with the Gods of her own religion, including Ares. Assuming that she would be listened to, and that Superman would follow her lead and take care of the animals, she surged forward towards Circe. "Enough talk, witch!" refusing to refer to the woman as a Goddess.
The red eyed woman looked at the two heroes, with a bored and annoyed expression, as she continued to mix drinks. Which turned odd colors and seemed to glow unnaturally. Ignoring all of their commands to her. "I don't think you two get it. I'm a goddess and don't take demands from mortals and pets of the gods!" And as her tone rose, so did the anger and tension in the beasts around them. The goddess smashed her mixed drink into the bar, where it exploded in a flash of light! Everything seemed to hapen at once then. The tigers lept off the bar at Wonder woman while several boarmen and the bear growled and roared as they charged at Superman. They attempted tomgrapple the two with strength unnatural to both humans and animals. The light from the cocktail seemed to ignite the tiki bar too like fire! But it didn't burn, if anything it grew! Branches brust out of the lacquered surface, creating bars between the goddess and the Amazon. The wild growth spread to the walls and floors as thick underbush and branches grew. The door fusing shut as it turned into a solid tree. "Let the party begin!" Grinned the goddess.
