Powers / Abilities
Power - Oan Power Ring: Fueled by the Green Light of Will, the Oan Power Rings are theorized to be the most powerful tool in the universe. Their users simply need to focus their thoughts and they can construct nearly anything out of hard light that takes on the desired weight, mass, consistency, texture, and properties of the item in question or can possibly be altered in any way the bearer chooses. The rings also grant their bearers the power of flight and self-sufficiency as long as the ring carries a charge. Hal's constructs are unusually solid, often opaque, and are known to leave an "afterburner" tail of stray thoughts behind them.
Ability - Iron Will: Hal Jordan bears a nearly unshakable will and is therefore highly resistant to hypnosis, mind control, and coercion.
Ability - Ace Pilot: Hal is one of the world's top 5 pilots, if not top 3. If it's got wings, he can fly it, and he can make a biplane outperform an F-22 with his eyes closed.
Weaknesses
Weakness - Yellow Impurity: For reasons unknown (or willfully hidden) by the Guardians, the Oan Power Rings cannot directly affect anything yellow. The weakness does not seem to be in the rings themselves but rather in the bearers who have been known to feel irrational spikes of fear when faced with the color.
Weakness - Reckless: Hal Jordan is courageous to a fault, and this lack of foresight often gets him in trouble and has cost him the advantage in fights more often than he cares to admit.
Weakness - Limited Power Supply: Hal Jordan must charge his ring in his Power Battery at least once every 24 hours or more often depending on usage. He often forgets to do this.

"Listen, Bats - Can I call you Bats? It's going to be Bats or Batso and to be honest, Ba- hang on." Hal ducked around a laser blast that blew a chunk of railing out of the dam walkway behind him. He gritted his teeth and threw up his arm, a green kite shield materializing in front of him as he pressed his other hand to his ear. "Anyway, I've got this wannabe space pirate from Kelaak-3, turns out silicon is like platinum there. Who knew, right? So I'm - one sec." The pirate was shouting curses in some alien language that, thankfully, the field tripping students behind him couldn't understand. A curving arm of energy shot out and hit the pirate in the face, materializing into a metal plate covering his mouth. "Kids, man! Jeez, don't they have manners in space? Listen, Bats, I'll call you ba- huh. He hung up. Rude." Holding two constructs was taxing the Emerald Enforcer's energy supply so he leaped forward, a green streak cutting through the air to deliver a solid right cross backed up by about a thousand newtons of thrust. The alien, some creep called Kanjar Ro, spun in place and fell to the ground. He laid there, twitching and groaning while Hal turned to the students and held his hands up to their excited shouts and cheers. "Now now, there's no need to- WOAH!"
The ship's tentacle-like manipulator held tight to the hero's leg, holding him upside-down and dangling him precariously over the edge of the dam. "Oh, you brought friends. Neat." He'd barely gotten his pithy quip out before the arm began to shake him violently, smashing him into the thick concrete wall over and over again. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Getting kind of OLD, MAN." Green energy arced out and formed into a pair of giant buzzsaws that dug into the metallic cable and began to spin through it at incredible speed, the reverberations humming through the air and shaking the now-heavily damaged structure. Cracks began to spiderweb through the thick concrete, trickles of water turning into spurts and then great, gushing torrents. In seconds Hal was free of the robotic ship's grasp and a gigantic green boxing glove smashed into its bridge, sending it spiraling Earthward, out of commission. "That wasn't so hard. I mean, could have been a lot worse." As if in answer to the green hero's quip, a huge chunk of the dam broke free and sent half of the students he'd been protecting falling the near-mile to the canyon floor below.
Without a moment to spare, Green Lantern sprung into action. Beam after beam lanced from the alien tool on his finger, forming flying beds and broomsticks, pegasi and gryphons, countless jade constructs ferrying children safely back onto solid ground. It would have been a perfect rescue if the very last kid hadn't mysteriously passed straight through the gigantic pillow he'd made to catch him. "The hell? KID!" Jordan fired again and again, throwing baseball mitts, easy chairs, even a stack of magazines down under the tumbling boy but to no avail. As he got closer, Hal finally saw why - The kid's shirt. "Why'd he have to be a Diamonds fan? I'M COMING KID, HANG ON." Hal grimaced as a terrified "to what?!" echoed up from the boy's falling form. He poured on the speed, propelling himself earthward so fast his lower body disappeared in a haze of green light until he shot past the boy, curving in mid-air and catching the falling body with enough give to absorb any impact stress. "I gotcha, I gotcha. It's OK, you're safe." Hal noticed with mild discomfort how his ever-present aura shied away from the yellow of the boy's jersey. "What's your name, buddy?"
"D-D-Danny."
"Hi, Danny. I'm Green Lantern. That was pretty scary, huh?"
"I knew you'd catch me."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Dan. Now, one more thing... you wouldn't happen to know your teacher's number, would you?"
