Audition post
Why am I even here? Rose thought bitterly to herself, her lip curling into a cruel sneer as she fell backwards onto the sofa set in the centre of the rec room. The constant, nagging voice in the back of her head which reminded her that the Titans were heroes, and that she wasn't, that she was not one of them and would never been one of them, kept going. She was used to it by now, but that didn't mean it didn't make her uncomfortable. The lithe young woman reached a lazy arm out and picked up the remote, bracing her head on the crook of her elbow of her opposite arm, creating a makeshift pillow with the crook as she turned her head to watch the screen as it hummed to life.
Dick had extended the offer, but it wasn't his team anymore. Hell, it wasn't Roy's team either, she thought to herself. A new generation of teen wonders were running the show, the second generation from Dick and Roy, and instead of being run by a dear friend, this time the Titans had elected to have a female leader. Cassandra "I'm so Wonderful!" Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl II. Rose hadn't had any bad feelings towards Donna, but Cassie? Oh God how she got under Rose's kin. It was like she was just born perfect or something. The girl seemed to never fail, never do wrong. She always looked like a Goddess, she had the best looking boyfriend, everyone loved her. In comparison, it really wasn't hard to see why Rose felt more than a little rivalry.
"FINE THEN!" The voice of the very girl who had been on Rose's mind called from down the hall followed by the hollow, echoing slam of a door not just slammed, but brought off its hinges, through the frame and into the room.
Trouble in Paradise? Rose thought to herself, an interested smirk pulling at her lips as she sat up, peeking over the edge of the couch. Interesting indeed.
