-His presence led to Russia's defeat in the Crimean War.

-WWI, pushed Germany to attack. Drew back and allow the flames to burn or die after France was crushed.
-With aid of Athena and Aphrodite, Ares outs Zeus and the others from power. The trio take over Olympus.
-WWII. Again, pushed Germany to attack. Rekindled love with Hippolyta and withdrew his support from the Germans.
MODERN TIMES
-Sided with America during all conflicts due to its penchant for war.
Audition post
"Amazons!?" Ares bellowed out before the gathering of the Gods. The announcement that an island would be created for the souls of wronged women where they would be reincarnated as a race of warriors, solely made up of the same sex. What did these women do to deserve such a gift? What of the hundreds of valiant warriors that had fought in battle and fell? Where was -their- island? -Their- glory and respect? Hearing this news burned him from the inside out as he turned and stormed out of the gathering area. How dare the rest of them... A rip in the fabric of reality appeared and he stepped through it into his own personal realm, created by himself with his own godly power. However, this had been approved by Zeus and, to Ares' great dislike, he had much of the final rule said on the matter. With the support of the others, the God of War could do little but accept it... but that did not mean he could not force them to encounter great trials.
Ares watched from above as the Amazons first lines met those of their enemies. His red eyes glowing brightly, the only thing visible from the shadows his helmet cast over his face. They would fall… An hour later of watching the carnage, the Amazons actually began to drive their foes back. This was a curiosity to him. The God had been certain that they would be driven back and yet they success was quickly becoming a possibility for them. Intrigued by this development, Ares continued his vigil over the battle as a sweet voice spoke to him. “Come to what my Amazons, have you?” Despite the sugary voice, there was enough malice within it for the God to pick up. “I go where the bloodiest battle is, sister,” he stated to Aphrodite, however not bothering to look in her direction. A smile curled on his lips, revealing the pearly white teeth behind them, as he he watched the Amazons begin to show their brutality. Their swords cut through the men like butter. They treated them with no mercy or quarter, executing any who did not give the most convincing of surrenders. He could sense his sister's building emotions. Her women were proving themselves as she, Athena, and Hera had all stated that they would. However, she was conflicted because in doing so they had capture -his- eyes. Their prowess a draw of War itself. “They will never be yours!” his sister shouted before disappearing from his side, leaving the God of War to respond to the empty air, “We shall see…”
To one side below, the massive dark cloud was nothing to fear: a mere mark of the weather and these men had much more to worry about, namely the weapons and ferocity of the Amazons. However, the women of Themyscira knew what(who) was above their lines and watching over them. Ares, the God of War, watched the battle from on high, his lips curled into a large, fanged smile while his eyes glow a red brighter than the sun. The world of the battlefield darkened, the sky turned a deep, crimson hue, and the thunder that echoed about mixed with the clopping of hooves and thudding of feet to make a terrible but unique music upon the world. He sneered at the humans that dare try to overcome the Queen's Guard, bellowed as others believed numbers would overcome Artemis' blade, and swooned in dark, ecstasy as his Queen... his Warrior Queen opened the bellies, throats, and chests of those that would attack her while she rode her stallion. Though his words would go unheeded, they would empower his Amazons all the same, "Strike! Break them! Leave their bodies shattered upon the field! Soak the grass with their blood so that what was green shall be red forever more!!"
