Alignment: Chaotic Good.
Height: 5' 10".
Weight: 79 kg.

Physique: Dick Grayson is a Caucasian male who has a lean, well toned body, preferring to keep himself fairly slim so that it is easier to perform his more advanced Ariel moves. In height he is roughly the same as Bruce Wayne.
Training:
Equipment as Nightwing:
Nightwing Suit: The Nightwing suit is made of a fire-resistant, triple-weave, Kevlar-lined material. It provides excellent protection against melee weapons and fire arms, along with being light and flexible, so that Dick can still preform his Ariel moves.
Wing Dings: Nightwing's Wing Dings are a modified version of the Batarang; which are shaped like a bird.
Escrima Sticks: The primary weapon of Nightwing. His Escrima Sticks are wielded as both offensive and defensive weapons, which are made of an unbreakable polymer with an electrical charge that can deliver a shock to his enemies.
Grappling Gun: Nightwing's grapple gun is almost identical to Batman's in both its appearance and how it functions. The grapple gun fires a strong rope with a hook on the end, which wraps its self around a certain object and then allows the user to swing from it.
Equipment as Robin:
Batarangs: Shuriken-like objects, acting like boomerangs, that are used as long range attack weapons. Some batarangs are able to act as a radio or play a pre-recorded message.
Bolas: Thrown devices consisting of a rope weighted at each end, used to snare and restrain opponents.
Flash Grenades: A device which generates a bright flash of light to dazzle or distract enemies.
Gas Pellets: Tiny-marble like devices that give off a thick gray smoke ideal for obscuring vision. The smoke can also render someone unconscious when used in close spaces. The pellets can be set for delayed detonation.
Taser: A hand-held taser, that could be used both short range and long range.
Vehicles:
Wingcycle/Nightcycle: As Nightwing, Dick decided to get his own personal motorbike, which is a variation of the Bat-Bike. The Wingcycle/Nightcycle is equipped with a nitro boost, and is padded with light armor to protect it from bullets and explosions.
Powers:
Peak Human Strength - Due to Bruce's training, Dick possesses enough strength to throw people through concrete walls, and even be able to damage people like Bane.
Peak Human Agility - Dick possesses peak levels of athletic agility due to being a member of The Flying Grayson's. He is one of only three people in the world who is able to perform a quadruple back-flip. He is also one of the few people that can directly dodge an attack from Batman.
Peak Human Speed - Dick possesses peak human speed; able to keep up with and even catch his mentor.
Peak Human Reflexes - Dick's reflexes allow him to dodge almost anything coming his way, and even allows him to detect snipers.
Peak Human Durability - Due to his amazing durability, he is able to survive attacks from super-human foes.
Peak Human Endurance - Dick's endurance allows him to go four days without sleep and hold his breath under water for several minutes.
Weaknesses:
Only Human: Being only a human being, Dick can be injured and killed by all things that pose a threat to a human being.
Lack of seriousness: As Robin, Dick liked to joke around a lot and have fun with being a hero. However, as time went on, Dick did eventually grow a more serious personality, especially after becoming leader of the Teen Titans and changing from Robin to Nightwing. Despite these changes, Dick still does enjoy cracking a few jokes here and there and having fun with being a hero, which can sometimes stop him from completing an objective as quick as he could or should.
Trust: Dick likes to trust people, but he also likes to have contingency plans for when/if that person does decide to betray him. Once someone does manage to gain Dick's trust, he will no longer think of them as a threat or mistrust them until that person has actually crossed the line of betrayal
Emotions: Dick Grayson is an extremely emotional person. And while it is a good thing that he can feel strong amounts of compassion or love, it also means he can feel strong negative emotions like anger or grief. Because of this, he has been known to become as brutal as his mentor when his negative emotions do get the best of him, and will even sometimes cross his own moral line depending on how fiery his temper is. Another problem caused by Dick's emotions is that he is very hot headed and likes to jump into a dangerous situation without gaining as much information as he should. Which can often end up with him being in serious trouble. His positive emotions can also be a weaknesses to him, while his compassion towards others does make him a good man, and the reason why people like Barbara, Supergirl, Donna Troy feel somewhat attracted to Dick, it can also land him into some trouble. Especially if he is dealing with Poison Ivy, who tends to feed on emotions like compassion and easily seduce her foes.
Description:
Appearance:
Out of costume, Dick Grayson looks like a regular citizen who usually wears t-shirts, jackets and jeans. His black hair is fairly long and mostly unkempt
His original Robin uniform was comprised of a red vest, black leggings, boots and gloves, all of which seemed to be made of a sort of protective body armour, that still allowed him great mobility. On his chest, a stylized "R" symbol was visible, and around his waist he wore a gold coloured utility belt with various pouches for his equipment. He donned a cape that was black on the outer lining but pale yellow on the inside. To protect his identity, Robin wore either a black stylized domino mask or sunglasses at all times. While sporting the mask, his eyes appeared completely white. His short black hair was left unkempt, hanging over his forehead.
As Nightwing, his uniform now comprises a black unitard, black shoulder pads, boots and gloves. The chest area of his uniform is emblazoned with a blue bird with its wings expanded and his abdomen area is coloured in a lighter grey. He wears a black utility belt and carries his escrima sticks in a holster on the side of his right leg.
Origin:
Dick Grayson was a member of the famous Flying Graysons, and has performed many shows with his family; where they would show off their acrobatic skills in the circus in order to make some money. However, his world was soon to be turned up side down while on tour at Gotham City, where he overheard a well known criminal threaten the performers unless the owner paid protection money. The owner refused, and on that night, Dick watched in horror as his parents' high wire snapped, sending his parents hurdling to their deaths - all while many of Gotham's elites watched. Dick Grayson couldn't help but feel responsible, because he failed to warn his parents in time.
Shortly after the tragedy, Grayson was put into a juvenile services system, on the grounds that social service was full. He was beaten up by a number of the inmates, and he was later sent to a Catholic orphanage. Bruce Wayne rescued Dick by adopting him as his ward, because the boy did not want to replace his deceased father with the billionaire. Frustrated by the lack of attention from his new guardian and the mystery still surrounding his parents' death, Dick snuck out of Wayne Manor one evening to solve the crime on his own - only to stumble into Batman, who was also investigating the murder. After waking up in the Batcave, he is shocked to learn that Bruce is really the Batman. After learning Batman's true identity, Dick Grayson would also want to be a crime fighter, and was thus trained by Batman to become the first Robin.
As Robin, him and Batman would solve many cases together and form quite a good partnership taking out the thugs of Gotham City. Unfortunately, many years later the dynamic due would eventually part ways, due to a fallout between the two and Dick Grayson wanting to grow up and move on. Dick would continue to go on as Robin and eventually lead the Teen Titans. While leader of the Teen Titans, Dick would eventually change his hero persona after Superman informed him about a famous hero on Krypton named Nightwing. The hero of Krypton was cast out of his family and wished to prove himself by showing his family he was worth more than they gave him credit for. Because Dick was able to relate to the hero of Krypton, he would eventually change from Robin to Nightwing, and protect the streets of Bludhaven.
Personality:
From the outside, Dick Grayson has always been a very easy going guy, with a great sense of humour and is able to make light of almost any situation that doesn't involve the harm of his close friends. However, while it is easy to say no more, and describe Grayson as I have described him above, deep down Dick Grayson is a much more complex character and in a way, his personality reflects his complexity. Dick Grayson's hero persona was born from tragedy. However, unlike Bruce, Dick learned to deal with his loss in a much different way. While Bruce Wayne allows the death of his parents to weigh him down emotionally, and stop him from trusting those closest to him, Dick has learned to hide his deep grievance for his parents via using his sense of humour and easy going personality. In reality, Dick never has and never will get over the death of his parents, and blames himself for their demise, just like Bruce. But unlike Bruce, Dick Grayson never allowed this to effect his relationship with other people, due to the fact that he never shows his true feelings around others, and instead saves them for when he is alone.
Due to all this, the best way I can describe this character's personality, is that he is an imperfect yet somewhat perfected version of Batman. Meaning that while he is not as skilled as Batman, Dick Grayson still manages to keep his personality while being Nightwing, and due to this he is able to gain the trust of others in the superhero community and become good friends with many of them. Unlike Bruce, who, as stated above, allowed the death of his parents to get in the way of his social life; both in and out of costume. A very important part of Dick's personality, is that he is a very emotional person. While he does strongly feel positive emotions, he also often feels negative emotions equally as strong as his positive ones. Due to this, Dick can have a very short temper, which can get him into trouble, especially when he often goes against his moral code when his negative emotions do get the best of him. He usually lets his short temper slip when he is placed in a difficult situation, be it arguments with close friends, or situations that threaten his loved ones. And while it is good that he feels so strongly towards his friends, this can often be used against him.
Significant Relationships:
Bruce Wayne: Due to Bruce Wayne adopting Dick at a fairly young age, and after hearing about what happened to Bruce's parents, Dick eventually grew a father-son bond with Bruce and even looked up to him as a role model. And while they haven't had the best relationship after the fallout, Dick still looks up to him as a father, and Bruce still looks at him as a son.
Barbara Gordon: Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson were childhood friends who learned together under Bruce Wayne. After both becoming Batman's sidekicks, they would go on many adventures together, fighting crime and solving cases. However, around the time of Dick's departure of Robin, their romantic feelings would eventually show, and while both have had many lovers, Dick still thinks of Barbara as 'the one.'
Jason Todd: Jason and Dick never really had the best opportunity to get to know each other, due to Jason Todd becoming the new Robin shorty after Dick's transformation into Nightwing, and because Dick didn't really interact with the Bat-Family right after becoming Nightwing, Jason and Dick never really formed a strong bond. Although, after Jason's transformation into The Red Hood, Dick somewhat regrets not always being there for him back when Jason was Robin, and therefore feels somewhat guilty with what happened to Jason.
Tim Drake: Dick has always viewed Tim as a good friend and often refers to him as his 'Little Brother.' Unlike Bruce, who views Tim as a sidekick, Dick instead views Tim as an equal. Dick also respects Tim, because in his eyes, Tim has worked hard for the title of Robin.
The Joker: The Joker is one of those people who caused some of the biggest sufferings in Dick's life. Not only did Dick take a bullet to the shoulder from the Joker, but the Joker also shot and paralysed Barbara Gordon, and murdered Jason Todd. Becoming one of his biggest adversaries
Alfred Pennyworth: Alfred Pennyworth has been there for Dick almost as long as Bruce Wayne, and so it is quite easy for Dick to think of Alfred as a third father, who is always there to provide moral support, and someone Dick can talk to when he feels as if he cannot talk to Bruce.
Slade Wilson: Slade is another foe that has proved to be quite troublesome for Dick Grayson. Due to Slade being one of the biggest adversaries to the Teen Titans, him and Dick have had no shortage of confrontations. Dick has also greatly angered Slade by training his daughter Rose with the same knowledge and rules that Dick lives by. Slade also hates Dick Grayson and the rest of the Teen Titans due to thinking they killed his son, even though Slade's son killed himself.
Superman: During Dick's difficult time after giving up his Robin persona, Superman took Dick to his Fortress of Solitude and informed Dick about the Kryptonian hero named Nightwing, who was cast out of his family and sought to prove he was better then any of them gave him credit for, a story that Dick felt he could relate to, causing him to take the name of Nightwing.
Damien Wayne: Dick and Damien's relationship has always been a little unsteady. While Dick likes to treat Damien as a sought of sidekick, Damien on the other hand seems to have little respect for Dick, especially when they were first introduced to one another. Also, it seems as if Dick feels some jealously towards Damien, due to him being Bruce's actual birth child, which can create a bit of tension between the two.
Starfire: As both members of the Teen Titans, Dick and Starfire would form a strong bond of friendship that would eventually turn into a blossoming love for one another. Due to her being a great friend and ally to Dick, and someone he could trust, they would eventually begin dating one another. Dating Starfire was fairly easy for Dick, as he somewhat found himself at home with Starfire, a home away from Gotham.
Donna Troy: Donna Troy is founding member of the Teen Titans and thus a great friend to Dick Grayson, she was also one of his partners during the recruitment of the Justice League. Donna Troy and Dick Grayson have always had a brotherly sisterly connection to one another. Because they are both compassionate people, they have always had a hint of love towards one another that goes beyond that of brothers and sisters. However, they decided not to peruse that type of relationship, as it might ruin their great friendship and that staying friends would remain the best for both of them.
Helena Bertinelli: Huntress attempted to seduce Nightwing in order to bring her closer in the fray with other Gotham crime fighters. However, this plan did backfire on her when she accidentally developed romantic feelings towards Nightwing. This romantic tension became a reoccurring theme between the two, for instance when she journeyed to Bludhaven to stop a union associated with the mob. Their romantic tension also occasionally served as a source of friction during the romantic relationship between Dick and Barbara. Due to Dick having romantic feelings for both her and Barbara. Despite all this, Nightwing and Huntress were and remain friends, and have paired up together on many occasions to take down criminals.
Tony Zucco: Tony Zucco is a mafia boss who played the largest part in the death of Dick Grayson's family. After the death of Dick's parents, Tony fled from Gotham and moved to Chicago, where he decided to give up his life as a gangsta and settle down with his wife. However, all this changed when Nightwing came looking for his parents murderer. After Tony's identity was compromised, he was captured by Nightwing. Zucco, not knowing his capturer to be the son of his victims', unknowingly apologized for his sins. He would then later go on to save Nightwing's life from a terrorist having his way with Chicago. (Keep in mind, this is from the New 52.)
Timeline: Around the start of his career as Nightwing, although I can adjust to any roleplay.
Audition Post:
Rain drops splatter hard against the surface of Gotham City. The storm begins, and it will only get worse as the gritty night grows colder and colder. It was a quiet night, more quiet than usual around Gotham; you know this city is plagued when the sound of thunder and lighting is less familiar than the squealing sounds of police sirens.
“I told you Babs, I’ll be home soon. What, you think I can’t handle a little rain? Look, I’ve gotta run, I’m near the pizza place now. Bye, I love you too.” Distancing the phone from his ear, he lowers his arm and slides his hand into the right pocket of his jacket, letting go of the phone, before removing his hand. “Now, what pizza do I want? I know Babs loves peperoni, so getting that is definitely a must, unless I like being hit in the head. Annnnd, I guess I’ll go with the plain old Hawaiian”. Standing next to the traffic light, Dick turns his head left then right, trying to look down each dark street that was dimly lit by flickering lamp posts. “It’s quiet….A little too quiet. Ha! That’s so cliché!” He says to himself, before looking over to the traffic light on the other side. Its light was still red, and as much as Dick likes to set an example by respecting the law while out of costume, he knew standing around for too long in a city like Gotham would make him an easy target, so instead of reaching out to press the button, Dick decides to shove his hands into the two front pockets of his Jacket before hastily crossing the road. Once Dick reaches the end of the crossing, he quickly glances behind him to make sure no one was following him and that no cops saw him jaywalk like that. 'I'm such a bad guy.' He thinks to himself as half a smile spreads across his face. Continuing to make his way down the street, he manages to spot a small Italian sign sticking out of a building up ahead. 'That's definitely the place.'
Approaching the pizza store, Dick places his hand on the freezing door handle, twisting it right before pushing it forward, his body following as the door moves into the little pizza shop. “How are you doing, lad?” The man from behind the counter asks as Dick shuts the door behind him, locking out the freezing cold. “Just freezing.” Dick replies with a short chuckle as he makes his way towards the front of the counter. The male behind the counter gives a warm laugh to Dick's comment. “Well, I’m sure a nice pizza will warm you up. What can I get ya, lad?” The male asks with a friendly smile. Dick’s eyes gaze up towards the menu that was placed above the shop keeper's head. “Hmm, I think I’ll grab the peperoni and the Hawaiian, with thick crust for both. Generic, I know.” Dick’s eyes glance back towards the shop keeper, placing his hands back into the comfort of his pockets. “Don’t be silly, my boy! Those are the best ones!” The shop keeper replies with a cheerful laugh, before walking out of the room and into the back of the shop. 'What a lovely man.' Dick thinks to himself as he glances around the small shop. It was a fairly nice setup, photos of old bands put up around the room, tables and chairs so obviously set up for dates, a nice wood heater positioned near the romantic set up. It felt very, what’s the word? Cosy, that’s it.”
After a wait that lasted around half an hour, the shop keeper walks out from the bakery with two pizza boxes in his hands, only to find Dick sitting down on a chair, his head flat against the table and snoring loudly. “Excuse me lad, your pizzas are done!” The male calls out, hoping to wake Dick from his slumber. “H-Huh?” Dick slowly raises his head from the table, looking to his left side to see the baker standing there, pizzas in hand. “Oh!” Pulling the chair out, Dick quickly rises from his seat before strolling over to the counter, his hand scratching the back of his head. “Here you go sir, cooked freshly just for you!” The man states with a cheerful tone in his voice as he hands over the pizzas. “Thanks so much, sorry about falling asleep!” Dick replies, grabbing the two pizza boxers that were staked. "It’s all good, my friend.” The man responds. “I’ll see you around.” Dick says with a genuine smile before turning his back to the shop keeper. Walking over to the door, Dick removes his left arm from under the pizza box and uses his right arm to balance and support the two boxes as his left hand grips onto the door knob and begins twisting it to the right. It was then that it happened, the door bursts open and suddenly Dick finds himself with his back against the floor.
“What the hell!?” Dick shouts, looking down at his top to see cheese stains. “On your feet, now!!!” Suddenly, the barrel of a handgun pokes Dick in the forehead. “Alright, alright. I’m getting up!” Dick quickly replies after being nudged with the handgun. Slowly rising from the ground, the robber grabs onto Dick’s left arm to help pull him up, and to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. “Are you alright sir!?” The man behind the counter asks, barley knowing what had just happened. “Yeah I’m fine, don’t worry about me.” Dick responds after making his way to his feet. Looking over to the robber, he sees nothing but a black mask covering his face. “Stop looking at me like that!” The robber shouts, holding the gun back up to Dick’s head. “Okay, just take it easy…” Dick replies, glancing down towards the man’s shoes. Looking over to the man behind the counter, the robber pulls his gun over to face him. “You! Empty the fucking cash register, NOW!” He exclaims, watching as the shop keeper frantically puts in the code to open the register.
“Uhm, excuse me…” Dick interrupts, his blue eyes darting from the man’s shoes back up to his face. “What!?” The robber asks with an aggressive tone. “Your shoes are untied.” Dick casually states. “Wh-What?” Confused, the man drops his head to look down at his shoes. Using this opening, Dick pulls his head back before slamming his forehead into the robber’s nose. “ARRGH! YOU BROKE MY FUCKING NOSE!” He exclaims as crimson red blood pours from his nostrils. He attempts to quickly drag his gun over to Dick's face, only for his wrist to be suddenly caught by his tight grip. Shocked, the male fires the gun, only for the bullet to barley miss Dick’s face; due to him stopping the hand gun before he could line
the clear shot. With a strong twist, the male’s wrist makes a sharp snapping noise, signalising the bones in his wrist breaking. He screams in agonising pain, dropping the gun as Dick looks at him with a sharp smirk plastered on his face. Twisting the broken wrist even more, the man unwillingly drops to his knees, tears hanging off his eyes. “P-Please, I’m sorry!” He states, looking up at Dick.
“I know.” Pulling his arm back, Dick fires his clenched fist into the robber’s bloodied face, knocking him out cold. He then lets go of the male’s wrist, allowing him to flop to the ground before turning to face the shop keeper, who seemed to be amazed at what had just happened. “I-I can’t believe it! You took him out like it was nothing, how can I re-pay you!?” The shop keeper asks. “Don’t worry about it.” Dick responds with a smile, before stepping over the robber and picking up the pizza box that didn’t lose its pizza. “Please be the Hawaiian…” Dick prays to himself as he strolls out of the small pizza shop and back onto the stormy streets of Gotham City.
