Physique: Petite yet very defined regarding a toned body.
Training:
• Martial Arts: A master at excelling all known fighting arts taught to her and she proceeds to learn by accumulating information through her natural skills, body language, precisely in that moment. Most notable are Dragon Style Kung Fu, The Falling Leaf Technique, Tiger Kungfu, Jiu-Jitsu, Jujutsu, Judo, Muay Boran, Ninjutsu, and Muay Thai, Fuu Dragon, and Acrobats.
• Experiences: She’s trained by venerate characters regarding combat such as David Cain (father), Lady Shiva (her mother), Batman, The Oracle, Black Canary, and League of Assassins members such as Bronze, Tiger, Merlyn, Alpha, and Onyx. { If you don’t want Cassandra to meet these people in canon, I speak only from the comics. }
• Physical Perception: Able to predict movement, emotions, and even sometimes thoughts by reading the body; facial features, muscles, energy, etc.
• Enhanced Condition: Able to move with extreme celerity – faster than the capacity of a normal human. Cassandra also contains a considerable amount of strength for her size, agility, and endurance. However, with that said, a government agent breaks down her technique and stresses that her “individual movements are borderline human. It’s her aggregate speed that’s metahuman.” This is followed promptly by the explanation of three to four physically challenging events for normal humans and his expression of, “What they can't do is all of that at once. It's not so much physical as... as mentally impossible. Too much to coordinate."
• Stealth: Rigorous training led her to be advanced in being surreptitious and clandestine; she can evade nearly all security systems with ease or covertly shadow someone right behind them without being noticed. Most of this skill is revealed during her time as Kasumi.
• Investigation: Tim Drake provided assistance and taught her detective skills during their time in Hong Kong.
• Escape Artist: Cassandra is capable of eluding man-made or non-made traps and restraints along with accidental or intentional conflagrations; e.g., handcuffs, explosions, cages, etc.
• Marksmanship: David Cain’s taught her to be a sharpshooter along with being able to use projectile weapons to her advantage.
• Weapons Master: Again, mentored by her biological father, she’s been challenged with different weapons through both coercion and will and was taught to work with them.
• Gadgets: Since converting into Batgirl, Cassandra's knowledge of different crime-fighting gadgets has increased; especially that of which belongs to Batman.
Equipment: Utility Belt, Shadow Belt, Batarangs, Batrope, grappling gun, and her katana.
Description
Appearance: Her coloration and theme retain yellow and black. In nearly all her vigilante stages, black wears are tight enough that the suits nearly replicate her skin and highlight her underlying muscles; her abs, bicep, and calves are especially evident. During her Batgirl and Black Bat time she wears utility belts and capes. As Batgirl she wore a cowl that originally belonged to Huntress; stitches around the mouth area and no openings for the eyes. As Black Bat, she wears a half-mask that sort of resembles a domino mask. She also has claws and white linen around her appendages. Far from pallid, she has a warm and mildly baked tone to her skin though the pigment of her healed scars covers her nearly all of her body. One of her other distinct features would be her almond eyes, and the hue of her changing irises from brown to a lighter and unrecognizable green.
Personality: In others, outside of her families and friends, cognition, Cassandra’s demeanor may come off imperturbable and stoic or perhaps even somewhat callous in certain rushed or minor situations. Being solely raised to be nothing but a weapon to extinguish lives, her biological father didn’t waste his time with academics. After segregating from her father and through what little knowledge she obtained, she usually gives one to three worded answers; occasionally a full sentence or two depending on the person. Though meeting Jeffers aided her thoughts to unravel and speak better, the lack of social exchange nearly her whole existence continues to affect her behavior and make her all the more intimidating. This also leads others to believe her enigma personality to be strange, and sometimes her pride and confidence with her fighting appears to be inaudibly arrogant.
She is also very candid through her taciturn persona. No matter the individual, she doesn’t hesitant to speak her mind if necessary. There’s no trace of a reserved teenage girl in her whatsoever…or at least not in that sense. There have been times where she’s started to desire a little more.
Despite this assumption of her phlegmatic personality, she’s packed with strong emotions. Her empathy level is especially zenith due to being under the ‘loving’ care of her partners and workaholic obsession in saving people. However, her self-loathing and discipline allows her to isolate herself in certain situations she wished otherwise with ease; e.g., Superboy and Black Wind. There’s nothing more significant to her than her occupation. She unconditionally recognizes Batman as her boss/father-figure and does precisely what he wants. No matter, though, Cassandra is very driven to her opinions and will defy Bruce if necessary. For the longest time, she’d been voraciously devoured by her guilt for killing – an absolutely unacceptable act. This has been eased after her death, and revival, at the hands of Shiva.
Despite the rocky, and cruel childhood sided with her unusual characteristics, she is known to have a sense of mild humor. This is especially revealed in her close-bonded friendship with Stephanie Brown. Cassandra mocks her playfully, competes with her even knowing the result, and most importantly, they exchange personal memories. At one point, such a serious topic is brushed off through jokes. There are also scenes where Cassandra picks up movie lines and mimics them no matter how ridiculous they are.
Significant Relationships
(Batman) – He’s replaced David Cain’s initial position by adopting her and taking Cassandra under his wings. He mentored her and provided a flawed love in his own enigma way; considering how her biological father treated her topped with her lack of social skills, this wasn’t a crippling issue. He somewhat gave meaning to her life by making her a weapon for good – vigilante occupation.
(Barbara Gordon) – Friend and sisterly almost motherly figure towards Cassandra. There’ve been multiple cases where Barbara stresses the strain Cassandra is in with her deep-driven guilt, traumatic past, and obsession for justice/rescuing. She expresses the importance to both Batman and Batgirl. She also aids Cass in her cases on the screens as The Oracle.
(Stephanie Brown) – Best friend and partner to the ex-assassin. At first, Cassandra appeared to be dismissively cold towards her, treating her as if she was negligible. But as time passed the two became considerably close to the point others haven’t accomplished: bring out Cassandra’s more playful, haughty, and caring side. She even went against Bruce’s order to not associate with her.
(Dick Grayson) – She has a professional relationship with Dick more than anything. After the drug-inducement done by Slade, Dick’s been wary of her. He seems to keep his distance and questions her. However, prior to this, there were brief moments of partnership such as the time when Bruce Wayne was accused of murder. There was some level of comfort provided though not completely apparent.
(Tim Drake) – The two are close friends both during his time as a Robin and after. Cassandra is often found confiding in him and they assisted each other in crimes and he taught her how to investigate in Hong Kong.
(Conner Kent) – Her first love interest. A ‘relaxation’ Barbra recommended during their vacation. Due to Superboy, her skills were lightly hindered and drove Batman to confronting Superman and Cassandra.
(Black Wind) – Her second love interest, although there have been only brief encounters before his death – the significant of his existence highlights Cassandra’s wants and personality extensively. Despite being born into a cruel environment and was trained to do nothing but one thing, she still, although reluctantly, seems to surreptitiously desire the want to be ‘normal’. Of course with everything else holding her back, the balance tips to her occupation’s favor. However, even knowing the fact that it could hinder her skills, she proceeds to take the risk and admits that she “loves him” coupled with the process of his tradition: burying this secret into a hole on the dirt one dug before re-covering it. This deed is done after his brave death and drives her to be truthful despite her denial prior to it.
(Jeffers) – One of the most significant characters that propelled Cassandra into a different person with his telepathic powers. He both gifted and cursed her with the more human quality she obtained through his attempt to fix /comprehend her. Again, prior to coming to Gotham, she knew nothing of communication. Practically running on instincts and decoding intentions and emotions purely through physical translations, she only knew how to feel and reason without labeling or defining them with words. She was incapable of thinking like the rest of civilized mankind because she was never taught to.
He claims that he unscrambled her mind, because he couldn't understand her. Due to the newly, abrupt acquiring of language that only accumulated in her mind – she couldn’t say the words out loud – her innate talent disintegrated. The ex-assassin couldn’t so much as fight a lowly criminal and underwent physical training with Batman who told her she had to learn from scratch.
(David Cain) – Cassandra’s blood related father; the guardian who should receive the abusive-jackass-among-all-dads of the year award. The one who makes Batman’s parenting skills pallid in comparison. The source of her propensity in redeeming herself is due to him, as he desired to make her a lethal weapon. His overkill and incessant training, discipline, and having cognition negligibly towards academics or a social life/fatherly affection proves to be the source of her strange but venerate skills.
Naturally viewed as a god, being the father and her the daughter, the eight year old Cassandra Cain did as ordered and killed a man. She eluded not too long after the incident due to the realization of her overwhelmingly lacking culpability. To this day she holds strong rancor for him, but when he’s not up to bad she reveals subtle hints of sympathy and restricted love for him. He also seems to be one of the very, very few who affect Cassandra’s emotions and loyalty towards Batman; with David in the picture, killing becomes an option if not temporarily mandatory.
(Lady Shiva) – Cassandra’s blood related mother whom she encountered in her Batgirl years. Ultimately, Cass believed the worth of her own existence was equivalent to a dirt stain after her first kill; the reason why she willingly accepts and expects her death in one of her battles with Shiva.
The woman makes a substantial impact in her life, though far from motherly, and helps her move forward multiple times. For one, Cassandra re-obtains her body-deciphering talent, which she lost due to Jeffers’s powers, by re-fighting Shiva because she, too, has the ability to read movement. Second, the voracious guilt that’s been holding Cassandra’s full potential back disperses when she’s killed by her mother. Once brought back from death, Lady Shiva is K.O’ed within a short period of time. Cassandra refuses to end her as Shiva wanted; even after at their last death battle where she hangs her on a hook near the Lazaras Pit – though the ex-assassin’s intent is hazy. Whether she left her to die or to give her a choice to live remains unclear. Regardless, she doesn’t finish her off.

Despite the shadowed pigments accumulated to one specific shade from being lured into the night’s cape, prolific and slick muscles coordinated in finesse underneath skin-tight black suit. Clandestine performance presented highly advanced acrobats; her audience that of sleeping, lethargic buildings and the voluminous amount of streets or alleyways. Graceful repetition of this innate talent trained physical memorization; mental guidance wasn’t necessary anymore. However, there were no fervor for cheering or ineffable amazement…because everything must be surreptitious. Everything must be inaudible.
Cassandra Cain, daughter of two of the most feared assassins, no longer abides by her father’s beliefs. Yet she collided with individuals who progressively attempt to shake her new-found cognition. Born and raised under David Cain’s care while abandoned by her mother since birth, she developed with the mindset of existing for nothing but to be a weapon – through active coercion. She practiced religiously to train while under his guidance; to exterminate lives in cold blood.
Despite having this perception altered by her adoptive father, Batman, she came across several moments where she felt murder was a necessity when it came to conniving, vile scumbags like her parents. And those who proceed to succumb to their will to slaughter. At first she acquiesced to Batman’s no killing condition…but progressively and willingly, she abides by that rule no matter the circumst—The sudden beeping radiating from her device snapped her back into reality. She peered down and turned on the switch. Filter of emergency calls gave her the run through of each report that occurred in the past ten minutes and one in particular captured her attention. A manhunt. It was little past 11:30 PM, and the cops were chasing a man wearing a unique bandanna. A symbolism dressed in monotone colors of red, white, and blue that fixated into designs of what appeared to be a decapitated eagle. He mauled the face until the alleged rapist’s was nearly unidentifiable with a kitchen grater and blunt spoon despite being armed. And this isn’t the first, second, or third time similar incidents occurred.
In the past few days, reports of different ineffably sickening cases surfaced across the city regarding torture – all of their victims, however, committed extreme crimes against women and children. This was the typical vigilante act. That much was evident. Her investigation processing and human behavior analysis was acquired through both Batman and Tim Drake and reviewing her experience with them aided her. Considering that their symbolism broke down into a simple spit to America’s face and the grossly exaggerating torture…they were driven by an unrelenting rage. These were no doubt born from personal experiences. They were also strong on being covert while being flashy and bold with their messages.
She sharply turned left – the cops lost him and he was last seen in Fairdrive. Unfortunately for the murderer, she was hovering above the scenario and the silhouette’s frame pacing before becoming evanescent was just enough for her. He dispersed into the church while the sirens screeched in desperation along the background. Unsheathing her grappling gun, her abdomen tensed in preparation before she swung towards the building. She propelled forward until soles met the window pane and the glass shattered upon impact. Landing, she raised her gaze and found the man glowering down at her. As if he was expecting her.
“Put your hands in the air. Don’t fucking move.”
The voice resonated from behind; the empty, worn out structure provided a soft echo. Suddenly, men started emerging from the shadows in a simultaneous circle around the moon’s ray. They had her at gunpoint with sub-machine guns and she stilled. The element of surprise was crucial. Slowly and seemingly cautiously, Cassandra raised her appendages to ease their security. The leader of the band, the one behind her, took couple steps closer. “We don’t want to harm you, but we will shoot if you move. Just comply and we’ll work this out nicely.”
The current of livid tension in the air circulated intensely in the brief moment of silence. They wanted her to strip herself of weapons. Her hand lowered towards her belt. Just as her digits moved to seemingly unbuckle, she attacked. Within a fraction of a second, the ex-assassin lunged towards the right and disarmed the man with an accurate strike of her palm in the base of the Alpha GPI. The bullet he triggered was now embedded into his partner’s leg; the one standing beside him. She rammed the bridge of the gun against his face and rendered him unconscious. She heard a distinct shout, “She can’t be human, god-fucking-damn it!” Cassandra leapt towards her next opponent and knocked him out with a precise kick to his temple. The discordantly heavy and penetrating sound of gun-fires resonated. Some caught her bicep, others her thigh but this didn’t seem to halt her. She dimmed down the pain as she was taught by her father through playing ‘two for flinching’ – only with bullets, of course. One by one they went down.
All but one was left standing, or rather crawling from his non-severe injury. Cassandra was particularly strict on limitations to how far she can harm the criminals. He remained on his knees with his cranium inclined. His eyes were rugged and pained – full of distraught. She advanced…ready to bind him for the cops. “You don’t understand, do you?” He questioned. Cassandra unraveled the rope and started tying him. Menace flared in his expression. His eyes darkening. “You stand there trying to turn us in when you could be saving innocents from sadistic, self-absorbed motherfuckers right now. We’re on the same goddamn team.” …She remained silent. Read the desperation churning. “You couldn’t fathom the agony of capitulating to merciless shits, being beaten to pulp while your children are forced to witness it. While you’re coerced to see them being raped. Your wife…” His voice cracked.
“…Strung.” He whispered. Cassandra halted in her tracks. “The best part?” The man questioned, laughing shakily. “Same fucking guy who came for me when I was no older than nine. Same guy who put my siblings and I in the orphanage. Sister kidnapped for human trafficking and brother indulging heavily in drugs.” The man was having a breakdown; he knew he’d never get his personal revenge. For the first time she spoke. Her brows pulling together. “Killing and torturing…is not an option. Putting them behind bars is. Enslavement of their own.”
He snarled. “And how many times have they broken or bought their way out? How many of them are free and roaming right now?”
“We capture them again. Too many cons to killing – there are other ways.”
“By that time, people will be dead. I lost my humanity long time ago. I’m fit for this job.”... “I opened my eyes to the reality of this fucked world; how many others suffer the same thing. You eliminate the problem by eliminating their existence. You Bats are too blinded by your principles, you can’t see it. Can’t understand it.” He started shouting. “You hear me?! Let me find him and turn him in. You can be there to make sure nothing goes wrong.” She peered at the ground…Cassandra hit a pressure point in his neck and he went limp. This endless problem was ongoing…the scars and the repetition of internal injuries as well as external. She couldn’t save all of them and that’s what proved to be the most conflicting. She dispersed in to the shadows. Despite his words, every inch of his body opposed against them. He was lying but she was going to avenge him and provide some type of closure.
