Name: Jason Peter Todd
Alter Ego: Robin (II), Red Hood (II) (Also noted: Batman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Hush, Wingman)
Age: 14 – 23 (depending on time line and comic issue.)
Birthday: August 16
Alignment: Neutral
Height: 6'0”
Weight: 225 lbs.
Hair: Black (Note: originally red prior to New 52)
Eyes: Blue
Physique: Medium-large body type, strong and agile thanks to rigorous physical training.
Training: Jujitsu, Ninjutsu, Acrobatics, Judo, Thai Kwan Do, Boxing, Marksmanship, and All-Caste Training.
Equipment: Red Hood Costume, Blades of All (x2), Semi-automatic handguns (x2), metal wings for flight (when equipped), Batarangs (formerly), and grappling gun.
Description
Appearance: Red Hood is normally seen in a brown leather jacket on top of a jet black Bat suit modified from different suits acquired through Starfire. A belt with twin silver holsters hang off of his hips to house his pistols, and under the legs of the suit a set of All-Blades are hidden. This newest outfit is marked with the emblem of a red Bat – as if to signify his desire to redeem himself and once more work with the Bat Family. Of course to top it all off is that signature red hood.
Jason Todd's attire changes from situation to situation, from formal suits to simple t-shirts and a leather jacket, there is no one set style for the man when he isn't busy fighting crime in his own way. Physically his body has been shown to have different scars along it, a streak of white hair (Note: not shown in DcnU), as well as a tattoo on his chest that glows when the man is in a state of meditation.
Personality: Jason Todd, with or without the Red Hood mask, is an anger controlled extrovert who has no problems speaking his mind or doing whatever he feels is right... and even sometimes doing things he knows aren't, but will get the job done. Underneath that cocky exterior is a man constantly battling with the demons and ghosts of his past, as well as seeking redemption from the crimes he had committed in his quest for revenge and power.
However, this is not the case during the man's youth as Robin. The young Jason Todd was a street rat who did what he needed to survive, yes, but once discovered by Bruce Wayne and taken into the Family the boy began to break away from his hostile 'survival first' shell. The young Jason was stubborn, driven, and carried with him a sense of humor that was noted to get nearly everyone to crack a smile or cause a good-nature roll of the eyes. Robin was the boy's life, and even with the shadow of Dick Grayson cast over him he was driven to step up and one day become Batman – as he felt he was hand-picked to be.
Over time, however, Jason would begin to feel unhappy with how little the law did to keep the criminals he and Batman put away, well, put away. A rapist with diplomatic immunity gets to walk free, evidence to put away another criminal gets thrown out due to the source, the psychopaths constantly escaping. It was the constant disappointments and disagreements with Batman that would cause Jason to begin to tip back toward his more aggressive and 'survival first' mentality. Cut one of the Family? Expect to be cut back. The damage would be final and lead to the events that would cost Jason Todd his life, and set him on a path of obsession with getting revenge on Batman, Joker, and every other criminal that wasn't put down as he felt they should be.
Significant Relationships
Batman / Bruce Wayne – Jason's savior, father-figure, and ultimately the man who helped create the person he is. As Robin Jason saw Bruce as a father and mentor and would continue to do so as Red Hood – though with far more conflict between them, and a lot of mixed emotions.
Batgirl I (Oracle) / Barbara Gordon – As Robin they were friends and partners, though over time it would be Barbara who begins to point out to Batman just how volatile Jason was becoming. As Red Hood, their relationship standing is much as the rest of the Bat Family is; mixed emotions.
Robin I (Nightwing) / Dick Grayson – The first Robin and the 'perfect son' as viewed by Jason. It is Dick Grayson's shadow that young Todd tries to fill as Robin though if he does so or not is really left up to debate; at least at first. During his time as Red Hood he would often conflict with Nightwing, though from time to time they had worked together.
Robin III (Red Robin / Tim Drake – The replacement, the one who took his place, Jason's relationship with Tim Drake is strained at best, violent at worse. They have worked together when situations call for it, and Jason has noted (New 52) that Tim was one of the first to want to sit down and talk to him – like a friend almost.
Talia Al Gul – The daughter of Ra's Al Gul and the reason Jason Todd was brought back to life. Talia aided in his training and getting him to return to Gotham by letting Jason know just how little had been done to avenge him since his death.
Ducra (New 52) – The leader of the All-Caste, Ducra is an ancient and wise Monk and warrior who has been known to create some of the word's most deadly of assassins. Though she knew Jason Todd would come to kill many people, she still trained him and taught him the ways of the All-Caste.
Starfire / Koriand'r (New 52) – Koriand'r (or Kory for short) is the female member of the Outlaws and another of Jason's romantic interests. She found Jason washed up on a beach and nursed him back, before taking him to a crashed ship where the original costume of Nightwing rests.
Arsenal / Roy Harper (New 52) – Oliver Queen's ex sidekick, Jason and Starfire save him from a Middle Eastern jail and soon enough he becomes the humor and 'glue' if the strange team of Outlaws. Jason has shown he is willing to watch out for Roy just as much as he would for Kory, growing into the idea of the 'team' mentality that Roy first brought up.
Joker – The psychotic clown prince of crime, the single most despised person in Jason Todd's life and ultimately his murderer. Upon returning as Red Hood (a name he stole from the Clown) Jason sets to work trying to get his revenge on the one person he had expected Batman to take down for taking him away.
Black Mask – A ruthless criminal whose organization Jason begins to take down in Gotham City. (Further details to come)
Essence (New 52) – The daughter of Ducra who was trained since birth by the All-Caste and a noted romantic partner to Jason Todd during his own training, Essence ultimately turned on the All-Caste and is believed (by Jason) to have betrayed them to the Untitled.
The Untitled (New 52) – Beings who had been washed over by the waters of absolute evil, they are the enemies of the All-Caste and their ultimate murderers. Jason and the Outlaws are opposed to the Untitled and work to destroy them once and for all.

Since returning to Gotham Jason Todd's mind had been restless, pushing him to wonder what it was that brought him to the place that was filled with so many memories; both good and bad. The war on crime? The fight for the greater good? They were answers that seemed the most obvious, however for any who knew the man since his rebirth they would be obvious lies. Jason was no longer the psychotic man he had been so soon after his return to the world of the living – Ducra and the All Caste had seen to it that he matured at least somewhat – but that inner darkness still had a hold on his life. The past was something the young man had not yet been able to release completely and because of that, the anger still burned white hot in his chest awaiting its chance to be released.
Meditation only went so far and had kept the troubled soul tied only until the sun drifted down. The night was something of a friend, but it felt especially familiar when it fell over Gotham City. It was this familiar friend that he would be exploring in the guise of Red Hood. From rooftop to rooftop he jumped, listening to the sounds around him, listening for something that would perhaps be his outlet. It didn't take long, never did, to find some action going down. A small standoff between the police and a gang of thugs who managed to get themselves a hostage would be the just the thing ordered by the doctor inside of the Outlaw's head.
The grappling rope he was using to swing about would twist in his hand, going taunt as he swung in toward a window on the floor where the criminals were. The shattering of glass would cover the sounds of surprise, yet even that would be drowned out by the adrenaline fueled heartbeat in his ears. There was no monetary reward for putting his life at risk and Red Hood knew that Batman or Gotham PD could probably have handled it yet the man damn well wouldn't have let either take this chance to dive into action away from him. Tucking into himself the 'hero' would be left rolling on the ground behind a kitchen counter and table, the sound of gun fire telling him that the surprise had been quick enough to wear off and that real danger was knocking on his door.
A welcome dance partner to his best friend the Gotham night.
Breath is taken in slowly and let out, heartbeat kept as controlled as possible as those twin semi-auto pistols were drawn forth. The ringing in Red Hood's ears told him just how reckless he was being, and how easy it would be for his life to end. Not that he would let it happen, not to some nobodies like these who didn't even deserve death! Twisting around from where he landed the gun-wielding man would come into view, a set of sharp fired shots would take one man down – a bullet to the shoulder – and leave the other three scattering to try and get to cover. What, did they think he was Batman? Someone who didn't play by their own rules? The idea caused a snarl to twist the red features of the man. 'Good, I'll always take the element of surprise.'
No time was wasted as the others scattered, Red Hood would already be pushing off of the ground to spring his body back to his feet, one hand moving to press to the all but ruined counter top so that he could get leverage. A boot would find itself there a second later to push him higher. It was all the leverage he needed to get that single pistol up and begin to fire off shots, and a moment later the second would join. Fearless in the face of danger, fearless in that he knew the petty thugs were too busy scrambling to actually hit him. Or maybe so cocky and fool-hearty that he thought he really was invincible just then? Either way the hail of gunfire would signal the end of the matter and put four figures on the ground bleeding from gunshot wounds.
'We don't kill, Jason!' The voice of Bruce Wayne rang in his head, and for once it wasn't completely unwelcome. 'You're a blood thirsty psychopath to them.' Another voice would cause hands to tighten on the weapons he held. “You don't kill, I do...But not like this, never again like this. I'll save that for people who deserve it.” Staring at those figures Red Hood would speak to himself alone, before moving toward the window only to pause as he heard the muffled sounds of the hostage. Approaching the tied body the well-armed ex Robin would be greeted by fearful eyes, by the look of someone who almost expected to die. “Don't worry, I'm not so damn cold blooded anymore that I'd kill them, or you.” Words spoken so cool as if that look of terror didn't strike to him. Perhaps this was someone who knew of his past? Knew what that red face once had done? It didn't matter. “Just sit tight, the police will be here in no time.” As for him? Well...He had no interest in getting arrested.
Without reward or reason, Red Hood would retreat the way he came, a single fired grappling gun would take him out of the building toward whatever other trouble he could find. The man was no Batman, was no Nightwing or Red Robin, he was no hero. But he damn sure wasn't giving into his demons anymore, and would do what he felt was right...Even if it meant going against the code of the other heroes.
