Black Canary: Black Canary looked over the report which had been handed to her by J'onn. He had been doing evaluations and had some concerns about one of the heroes. She looked it over and smirked. She tapped her earpiece and said the name of who she wanted to speak with, opening a private conversation. "Donna, this is Black Canary. I have an assignment I want you to assist me with."
Donna Troy: Donna had been walking towards her bus stop when something had caught her eye. Her photography skills were tingling. Just as she reached for her strap-on camera bag her earpiece went off. "Black Canary? Hera, this must be important. What can I help you with?" While fumbling around with her bag she managed to release her camera from its bindings to take a picture of a local chalk drawing. The texture of the drawing was captured perfectly at ten times with zoom.
Black Canary: "I had a talk with J'onn, since he was concerned by your recent evaluation. Apparently you are lacking in one area and I suggested you join me on a unique mission, to help out, give you some new experiences. But we will need to make sure we are dressed to fit in with the crowd on this one."
Donna Troy: "I'm confused. J'onn has always been impressed by my evaluation scores." Donna huffed away from the microphone and began walking back to her apartment. "But if the mission concerns you then I'll do what it takes to exceed your expectations. Where should I meet you?" Donna kicked a small pebble with her camera in hand. Disappointed? Worst Tuesday ever.
Black Canary: "I'm already in New York, meet me at Metro Style on 5th. I'll be in the back." Metro Style was a high end and very trendy fashion shop.
Donna Troy: "Metro Style. Okay." To fly or to walk? That was the question. Well it was a mission so it had top priority. Though Donna was always afraid to show off she knew that Dinah would not want to be kept waiting. "Alright Donna. No time for excuses. Get off the ground." She quickly put away her camera and leapt into the air. It was warmer than she thought today. The feeling of flying helped her with her confidence and self-image, but most importantly it strengthened her inner-Amazon.
Black Canary: A man in a lime green suit and salmon tie greeted Donna as she entered. He rushed to embrace her. "Ah Wonder Girl! I'm so glad you could join us! I'm To-mas! The proprietor of this shop. Canary told me you need some appropriate attire! Please my dear come this way!" The excitable man ushered the heroine into the back. Where Dinah was sitting on a table applying extra eyeliner. She was a black leather dress which clung to her. It was low cut and had a sling like strap which made a collar at her throat, leaving her back bare. It also had a braided pattern in the fabric, running from hem to her shoulder her usual pirate like boots replaced with thigh highs, showing a hint of fishnet. She had a fishnet jacket to finish the look. "Hey Donna." She smiled.
Donna Troy: "Oh it's nice to meet you!" Donna was suddenly taken off guard by Dinah's unique choice in fashion. "Please tell me I'm not wearing that." It was a test? It had to be a test. Why else would Dinah be wearing that? Donna knew that Dinah's usual costume was incredibly exposed, but this new get-up had no purpose. "I'm wearing my suit beneath whatever you have in store from me. I will not have Hera, nor any other soul mistake me as some wretched misdirected woman!"
Black Canary: Canary rolled her eyes. "No you will be wearing your own dress. Wait you want to wear your costume under it? That isnt needed for where we are going." Thomas looked confused, figured something out with a smile and then tilted his head toward Donna. "Isn't your suit a full bodysuit?" He asked.
Donna Troy: "My suit was given to me by the Titans themselves. It is indeed a full-bodied suit." Her head dropped a little. She was whining in front of her idols. Dinah was a gorgeous representation of what it was like to be a woman in the JLA. For Donna to whine in front of her was not only distasteful, it was rude. "May I at least carry it with me?" Suck it up Donna. It's only for this one mission..
Black Canary: Dinah gave a little laugh at Donna's protests which quickly turned into pleading. "I suppose we could work something out?" Thomas nodded, and produced a cute clutch pursed and tucked it inside. "Adorable! Let's see... Something off the shoulders may be cute on you. And we need something to accentuate your long legs... Hmm..." He rustled through some racks and pulled out a shoulder less dress that blossomed into a layered skirt of ruffles. It seemed to sparkle with little notes of silver in it, a nod to the stars on her bodysuit. "How's this?"
Donna Troy: She looked directly at Dinah with a reddening shade spreading on her cheekbones. "Well, I do like silver." Now Donna was smiling brightly when she caught a glimpse of the sparkles. "I love it. Thank you. The both of you." There was really no need to thank Dinah though it seemed that by the end of tonight Dinah would be her personally favorite hero in more than one way.
Black Canary: Dinah smiled at the black dress with silver starlight sparkles as Donna held it up. Both her and Thomas looked pleased. "I'm glad you like it. Please try it on." She gestured to a little dressing room in the corner. "And I will get her some boots!" Said Thomas excitedly, while Dinah got Donna's makeup ready. Donna would find the dress to be form fitting, as if it had been made for her.
Donna Troy: "I-Isn't that too much eye shadow?" Donna had obediently put on the dress in the cramped room. She wondered what Diana would say to her in this outfit. Dinah didn't seem to mind it as much, but this must have been what it was like to be Black Canary. Gorgeous flawless skin, kick-ass fists of fury, and a costume to show off to the many villains already in-love with her looks. How could Donna be just as confident?
Black Canary: Dinah started to apply the make up and laughed as her technique questioned. Starting with foundation, then highlighting Donna's face. Then the eye shadow. "I'm trying to give your eyes a bit of a smokey look, to compliment your dress." When finished, she led Donna out to the backroom, where there was a mirror. Thomas gasped and applauded. The make up made Donna look like she had flawless skin, with mysterious eyes, and a dark lipstick with hints of purple which melded into the smokey shades of her eyeshadow, which complimented her dark hair. "She looks like a dark princess of the moon of all nightclubs. Brava!" Dinah smiled.
Donna Troy: "That's a good thing, right?" The makeup was very new to Donna. She never put much on her face besides her nightly creams. On occasion she would spoil herself with a good facial. This whole mission was completely different and about to change her whole world upside-down. "Hera, I look like a demi-goddess." It sisn't even occur to her how arrogant she sounded. Donna was just happy to feel special for once.
Black Canary: Dinah grinned at Donna's reaction. "That's the point. Just like our uniforms. A dress and make-up can show another side of ourselves, and let us step into the role of a heroine or goddess, like tonight!" Thomas gave Donna a pair of knee length boots, with a modest heel to make Donna's legs look even longer. Dinah hugged hi. "You're the best fairy godfather. Thanks Thomas!" She smiled at Donna. Ready to go?
Donna Troy: One foot after the other. Donna needed to take this kind of slow. NOt because of the heels, but because she felt like she had transformed into an entirely different person. She almost wanted to cry. Dinah was being so nice to her. Usually Donna was the one attempting to make everyone happy. "Yes, Dinah. I think I'm ready for this." Instead, today Donna would prove to herself that maybe she could learn to enjoy what happiness others could provide her.
Black Canary: Dinah smiled, glad of the response and guided her guest out the back door of the shop, to her gleaming purple motorcycle in the dark alley. She got onto the bike. "Sorry, not the most glamorous ride, but I like it." She nodded for Donna to hop onto the seat behind her. Fortunately they hadn't given the dark haired heroine a short skirt. "Hang on to me, I ride like the wind." She said, smirking over her shoulder.
Donna Troy: Donna glanced at the bike. It was't at all similar to Dick's. This was way more speedy and graceful. His was just meant to look cool. "I'm used to it by now." The raven-haired Amazon hopped on then hung onto Dinah. She didn't know what she was in for.
Black Canary: Dinah smiled feeling the Amazon's arms wrap about her. Then they were off! The blonde sped out of the alley and up onto an overpass. She was flying through traffic, weaving between cars. And it did feel like flying. Their hair billowing in the wind as Donna's dress ruffled. Dinah easily rode the bike, as if it was part of her, accounting for their weight, as they angled through turns. Before going down an off ramp to ride down a series of tunnels and under bridges, giving Donna a glimpse into another city, beneath the city.
Donna Troy: Yeah. Way different than Dick's bike. Donna closed her eyes only slightly. Though she had flown, she was not fond of the roller coaster feeling that came with motor boking. "A-Are we there yet?" Her voice squeaked softly. "I now know what it feels like to be tossed pizza dough."
Black Canary: Dinah laughed and the bike came to a sudden stop, before a club with eerie green lighting. The door a wrought iron gate, a bouncer three time the size of the blonde. Worked into the lit gate was the clubs name, 'Underworld'. She smirked at Donna. "Yes, we are. I hope I didn't knead you too much on that ride." She offered Donna a hand off the bike, and guided her up to the dog of a bouncer. "Can ya let two ladies in on a moonlit night, gatekeeper?" She teased the man, getting dangerously close, who smirked and with a nod let them in.
Donna Troy: "Hera, that was a fast ride. You're not much of a kidder, are you?" Donna hopped off the bike and placed her hands on her hips. Underworld? This sounded dangerous. She looked over at the bouncer with a curious look on her face. This mission could get dangerous.
Black Canary: Donna could feel the base, before she could hear it as they decended a long staircase. To find themselves in a two story underground night club. The upper floor suspended from the walls, looking over the dance floor below, with arched bridges and islands over it, with many table and stools. While below was a dance floor and bar. The dance floor itself was lit underneath with crazy flowing images which matched the beat and groove of the DJ, Lady J. The place was lit with ambient green lighting which flickered up the brick walls like flames. The walls adorned with props from horror films and actors. Like Legosi's cape, and Vincent Price's signed mask. There was even a cane suspended in a case over the DJ. It gave off an odd vibe as one looked at it. "Do you like cocktails?" Asked the blonde as they went downstairs.
Donna Troy: Donna wasn't familiar with the clubbing scene, but it was something she could definitely get into. Dancing was her favorite back on the island. Though this music was much more lively. She was tempted to dance right then and there until she her Dinah's voice. "Yes I do! Something very simple like a gin and tonic."
Black Canary: The blonde smiled as she noticed Donna naturally start to move and groove to the DJs beat. She gestured toward the full dance floor. Many just sitting and drinking at tables about it. "Go ahead, go dance. I'll be right back with some drinks." The blonde sashayed to to the beat. Smirking at those who gave her a look over as she passed. She ordered a gin and tonic for Donna and one of the novelty drinks the club was known for. She picked a Red Death, it was a fruity drink with vodka, Southern Comfort, sloe gin, triple-sec, peach schnapps, orange juice, and a splash of grenadine. With her drinks in hand she looked for Donna.
