Darkseid: The burning wastes of Apokolips sung loudly their crackling song of fire and waste, the desolate world of pleas and unanswered prayers saw yet another day in which their god would forgo their needs in search of the greater good. In search of the means to create a utopia in which no man, woman or child would suffer. For they will all become Darkseid. "Father, do not go. Allow me to bring you the man of steel!" The throne room, the high drawn drapes of crimson matched only the pits of lava and rising sulfur that entrenched the glorious room. Kalibak groveled at his father's foot, bowed in submission much like many of Darkseid's followers where before his might. Alas, the god knew that if his furies couldn't get the job done, then the son who paled in comparison to the lost Orion would be at less of a standing to this task. "You will await my return."
The grey skinned giant tilted his head towards his child, offering nor pity nor comfort in his cold command. He had to show Superman that he was the right choice, the only choice. For if Superman was to oppose him still, then he would become the enemy of the universe when all became Darkseid. The cosmos bowed before Darkseid as the universe around him seemed to shift, the drawing back of time seemed to seep and ooze into the walls of reality as Apokolips faded into the smoke and fire and became the bright and shining cities of Earth. The city was strange to Darkseid, the towers that seemed to touch the sky where a clear tactical weakness without reinforcement and the strange woman he could see off out at sea seemed to be a monument to some great ruler? If homo sapiens wished for great displays of leadership like this, then Darkseid would have no problem erecting statues in his honor when the time came.
However, the hunt for Superman had begun. Should he come to the cities aide or not, that was his decision. Darkseid's gargantuan frame was already causing a problem it seemed, the city seemed to be flooded with steel contraptions designed to transport humans, but he was situated right at the cross roads and was causing a traffic jam. The foolish humans shouted and jeered at the sudden appearance of the being, others remained silent in awe and shock. Well, he knew trying to find Superman was a waste of his time. The man of steel would come to him or anyone else worthy enough. His red eyes burned with the purified hate and perverse anger that Darkseid kept masked under his stony exterior as from his eyes did two omega beams fly out and burn there way through a line of cars. Screams and explosions filling the air as the cars and their occupants where reduces to little more then smoldering ash. -e-
Donna Troy: Donna was in the midst of finishing off a photoshoot when the models began crowding around the only television in the studio. It wasn't often that they had bothered to take a break from their work. She found it a little worrisome in fact. "What are we watching?" The Amazon strolled up to the silent crowd. News reporters were on the scene at some sort of massacre. Donna shivered, not out of fear, but out of grief. Man's world was her home. Any sort of death count was the worst to see when it involved the villains. "I'll be right back." She rushed out of the building not even bothering to take off her outer layer of clothes off in her car. This would need immediate attention. Her starry suit was always on her figure no matter the situation. She was always prepared. Hopefully this time would be no different than any other emergency. "Hera, give me strength." The Amazon leapt into the air and flew at jet speed towards Staten Island.
Countless cars had been wrecked to the point of no return. What was this? A battle field? Donna had never seen so much damage. "Everyone! Please find shelter elsewhere! I need you all to remain calm and head underground! Do not engage!" Her first instinct was to help those who were injured, but there were so many of them! How could she do this alone? 'Be strong Donna. Don't let it get to you. The Gods are on your side." One by one she carried each person into a safety zone. It was hard work by herself. The citizens seemed to be willing to help out though she could not risk their safety. "Who did this to you?" She whispered softly to a car wreckage where a child had been sitting moments ago. The temperature difference between both ends of the car led her to believe that the source was lurking only a few kilometers ahead. "I won't let it happen again." -e-
Darkseid: Darkseid had laid an opening for the man of steel and yet, what had he caused to scurry out of the shadows? Some form of young woman it seemed. Though Darkseid continued to rampage through the city, the structures unlucky enough to be caught in his omega beams where reduced to ash and from there the chaos ensured. A car screeched to a halt before the god, the driver unable to maneuver past the rubble and chaos that Darkseid had ensured. A fate that brought him a simple kick from the giant as the vehicle was sent flying with ease. Deep down Darkseid half hoped the last son of Krypton would speed forward and catch the car, alas it was a false hope it flew out of sight with the man inside screaming like the child in his back seat
The car would become a steel tomb for the two as it landed close to Donna, marking how far it had flown as it landed roof first to crush the twosome under the weight of the car that once again skidded to a halt. Darkseid was growing tired of this however, it was almost insulting that Superman wouldn't answer his planets call for help. It wasn't like he was one of the female furies or the good for nothing son he was forced to withstand after Orion left. A large office block was Darkseid's next target, as that searing glow in his eyes fired up once more before emitting a mighty blast that struck the building and caused it to start crumbling into dust. The people inside screaming as they fell from heavenly heights. It served the human's right, climbing up high while they should only grovel in the dirt. -e-
Donna Troy: "You..." This time Donna was enraged. She had stood under the vehicle just before it landed safely in her arms. Gently she let the car down and pushed the people off to the side. The building next to her was starting to give away. "No!" She flew towards the structure desperately seeking a way to stabilize it at least. Unfortunately the structure was crumbling. The most she could do was rescue only a few people. Donna raced upwards to remove a billboard sign and use it as a platform. "Jump!" She carried the surface above her head hoping to catch people as they fell. Soon the board almost began overflowing. It was like using an umbrella in a hailstorm. "I will not let them die." Wonder Girl would never let the people of Man's World down even if it costed her life to save them. What few people she could save were safely let down on the ground. They scattered into the subway lines. Some of them screamed and others could barely mouth a word. 'All of those people...' Donna clenched her jaw.
Once the dust settled she could only see the large figure, the one who had sentenced the civilians to their deaths. "You..." The Amazon flew in a straight path. Had she not been so level-headed she would have had the first punch. "I am Donna of Troy. And I will not have you destroy Man's World. Surrender now or you will fear the wrath of the Gods themselves." Her hand rested on her lasso as she waited for an answer. There were large pieces of wreckage everywhere. Strategically, she analyzed them to determine which one would land the biggest hit on his body. No matter how hard of a hit he could land, Donna would make sure that he would receive five times more of the pain. "Don't you dare take one step closer." -e-
Darkseid: The woman who stood before him, clearly she was nothing, but her small display of saving her fellow human was impressive. She was a powered being, but Darkseid knew nothing on this planet could compare to his might. His glaring red eyes resided on the woman as she spoke, his hands coming behind his back to rest in one and other as he listened. "Strange, I do not recall ever invoking my own wrath upon myself." The eyes that held such power, the fear invoking visage of Darkseid looked down upon her. The mortals that scurried like insects around her needed only take one look at him and they knew fear, would Donna be the same as he directly fixated on her. "I am Darkseid, god of Apokolips." If she was so highly with the wrath of the gods and as so bold as to announce herself, Darkseid wandered how she would react know she dared to face off against an actual god.
His eyes burned with the same flourishing power that had invoked the destruction of the building before as quick as a bullet and as sharp as a knife his omega beams flew free. While rubble was between the two, Darkseid demonstrated his great power as the beams twisted, curved and bent to avoid the debris before a hard left turn let them fly straight through at Donna. Was she worthy of actually fighting him?
This would be her tester to that. -e-
Donna Troy: "Well then, Darkseid of Apokolips, you should note that this is not your world. As a protector of Man's World I--" Donna recognized a brief moment of silence just before beams of destructive light nearly disintegrated her. She had placed her arms up in a protective stance allowing her bracelets to deflect the beams. He was testing her. That she could tell. Of course, the adopted Amazon would never allow herself to fail. Donna was the pinnacle of perfection. It wasn't for her own sake, but rather to protect the ones she loved so much and of course to live up to the Wonder name. "My name is Donna Troy. I am Wonder Girl. And I will not allow you to butcher the people of Man's World!" She took a heavy step forward now certain that this fight would have to continue. Each step caused the ground to quake beneath her feet. Rubble jumped as though delighted to finally see a true hero in their midst. It wasn't long till Donna came running at Darkseid ready to spring into action. -e-
Darkseid: So she had a way to deflect his omega beams? But could she hold off their full force? Nobody could he was sure of that. "Impressive, you can deflect the most modest of my omega beams. Perhaps you will be worth my time..." Her voice was an annoyance to him however, such was the way of all lower life forms. She was still human at the end of the day, clearly. Her little display of ground swaying under her feet, it didn't do much to sway the divine who stood rooted with his hands parked behind his back. As she rushed forward, Darkseid's crimson gaze did fixate on her as he felt the burning pulse of another omega beam ready at the adopted girl. -c-
However, it was at the same time that Darkseid beckoned a single finger of his hidden hand, the rubble of Earth was an easy feat for the god and his telekinesis. The rubble that had once jumped at her step, now rose at her command as his omega beams ripped free into the air. Destruction rented the air, the second beam was much stronger than it's predecessor and while having to deal with a forward assault, Donna would now have to deal with the debris of Darkseid's wrath hurling through the air towards her from all angles. The punishment for daring to challenge one of higher standing. -e-
