Printing money would seem to be the controversy with the world today, something Oliver agreed should be done in order to stabilize the economy despite the consequences of devaluing the U.S currency. Star City had a shipment set to arrive by armored truck, but upon arrival of stimulus money the vehicle was hijacked and thought that the money was burned inside the truck until the truck was found during a police raid in conjunction with Green Arrow. The warehouse was too shady and seemed to have no valuable assets - no escape equipment, nothing to indicate there was even a crew present The authorities raced in and swiftly Green Arrow snatched a stack of bills and snuck off before anyone knew he was there. It would be almost two days later that Oliver was connected with a friend of a friend of a friend through Roy Harper. “This artist is pretty good, trust me. He has potential even if he lives in a less than desirable part of town.”
Were the words of the contact, Kyle would be instructed to wait in his home for a secret project potentially working for some agency of the Government. Oliver spared no expense to have someone professionally present the case in order to severe any connection to Green Arrow and Oliver Queen. There Green Arrow stood upon the rooftops observing through the window of Kyle’s apartment preparing to make his entrance. If Kyle was ready Green Arrow would waste no time in swinging in through the window and swiftly lowering his bow to align with his right arm. “Kyle Rayner?” He would address the man allowing his green felt hat and domino mask to point towards the artist who was probably dressed comfortably for a business meeting. “I wonder if you could examine some art for me. Do you have a magnifying glass and a work desk?”
Green Arrow’s voice wasn’t modified at this point - he didn’t want to scare the man and seeming more personable would probably earn him brownie points. Green Arrow pulled out a stack of bills from the missing truck. “I need to know everything you can tell me about these.” “He pulled out an envelope with $500’s in it. You can use this for comparison. Keep it for your pay.” He was a bit sympathetic as Kyle was probably in the 99% suffering for a sustained income - then again Oliver could’ve just been presumptuous of Kyle’s situation.
Kyle Rayner Another day barely scraping by. Kyle had taken to delivering pizzas to help make ends meet and god was that a disaster. Not because he was late but some of the people he had to deal with. Some old lady that didn't tip him because he showed up sharp on the delivery time, a frat party, another party that he swore there were some drugs being done there, and a forty five year old single mom that he believed wanted a romp with the pizza boy. She wasn't bad looking but good god! In the doorway! He had standards. Stumbling into his apartment, Kyle made his way over to his bed and fell face forward ontop of it. He needed something well paying and he needed it fast. With his face buried into his pillow, Kyle was unable to catch sight of Green Arrow sliding into his apartment. The voice shocked him and immediately he shot up, "What the hell?!" Nearly starting to use his ring, his mind caught up with the situation enough to understand that he was looking at Green Arrow and the
Kyle Rayner young artist remembered him from that big thing not too long ago. "Oh..Hey! Green Arrow right? You the one that need.. Oh. Well that answers that question." Looking down at the money presented to him, there was a moment of envy before he shook his head and walked over. "Give me a few moments." He took the offered money and then walked over two his desk. A The adjustable lamp was turned on and Kyle began to examine the single bill closely followed by a few of the others. Minutes ticked by in silence, with artist taking his time carefully looking over the bills. "Well," he finaly said, "a few things right off the bat is the coloration of the larger amount. They're a bit more faded and I'd.. well I guess a good way to say it is that they looked older but seem new. Another thing is the number in the lower right is different shades than the single. Also, those from the stack seem a bit... I don't know... fuzzy looking."
Green Arrow followed him to the desk and examined the sight from over Rayner’s shoulder. The Robin Hood-themed man could barely notice any difference, but took Rayner’s explanation. “So they could be counterfeit?” His blue eyes gazed around the room at the low-income apartment that looked like the man was too busy to keep everything clean - especially after finding the man had crashed onto his bed while still in his work clothes. “Do you have a black light or maybe windex…” Green Arrow looked around to see if he could spot a black light or something. “I wonder if they are radiated.” Green Arrow placed his hand upon Kyle’s shoulder suspecting the man to be naïve. “It’s not dangerous and I will be taking those with me. The question is why would someone replace legitimate money with counterfeit money…Why not just take the legal money and have a payday?” Green Arrow was speculating at this point unsure of what to make of it.
Kyle Rayner Gathering all the money back up, he nodded, "I guess? Spotting counterfeit money's not really my expertise. I just picked out what differences there were. Better to ask someone that's actually involved in things like this. Like a banker." For all Kyle knew, he could have bought the snickers bar he had this morning with a counterfeit bill and be none the wiser. He held it out to Arrow. "Some windex maybe...watered down. As for the blacklight, hate break it to you but I'm working for Pizza Hut of all things to help pay the bills. Work's been... slow for the freelance guy that's still trying to get his name out there." With Arrow running the thoughts verbally, Kyle could not help but speak his piece, "Well why else but to use it instead of real money? Fool some foreign bank and get a hold of some real cash for free? Pay a mortgage without loosing money? Or maybe they owe a lotta money to some foolish loan shark?"
Green Arrow looked at Kyle and nodded slightly unsure if any of his suggestions made sense. "Thank you for your help, Mr. Rayner." He took the counterfeit money and began walking towards the window that he entered from. He wasn't going to waste time investigating it further - Oliver didn't have a banker on the books to work with, at least not one that wouldn't rouse suspicion. “Forget the black light and forget that you even saw me - it’ll be safer for you that way.” Green Arrow jumped out the window and shot an arrow that allowed him to swing across the streets and to the rooftops where he began running and hopping over the apartment buildings. He swiftly got to his motorcycle to make his way back to Star City.
Kyle Rayner "Any... time..." he responded but before he could get the second word out, Arrow was gone. Flopping back into his seat, Kyle stared at the open window for a few moments. "It couldn't hurt to find out a bit more right?" Shifting his gaze down to his ring, Kyle smirked and nodded his head. Keeping the glow down, his Lantern outfit wrapped around his body and took over in place of his clothes and, using his power to make himself invisible, phased through the cealing and took off in the direction of star city. Only after a mile of traveling would he decloak as it was, speeding off in a bright glow of green from his ring. Kyle arrived well ahead of arrow and, to make his presence know, created a large consctruct of the archers from that movie "Men in Tights" with their bows drawn back and shooting arrows into targets. At their feet would be a six inch thick construct of grass which fed down into a beam of light that lead down to where Kyle would be sitting, sipping out a slushie.
Kyle Rayner Grape. Because grape was delicious. "MmmMM... Mmmmen in tiiights. Make fun of us MmM Mhm HM!" he hummed/sang, resting his seat a construct of a pool side bench chair that he had hovering above the rooftop. One thing about traveling ahead of one that was riding a motorcyle, when you could fly as fast as he could there tended to be long waiting periods.
Green Arrow could almost not believe it as he instantly recognized the skit and slowed down curving his bike to see Green Lantern. “Mel Brooks? I haven’t seen that movie in a long time, you know…” Green Arrow rode his bike slowly to close distance between him and Lantern. “Is there a problem here or are you just giving me a farewell party? I needed some information if you want to know why I’m in town.” He pulled out the counterfeit money. “You wouldn’t by chance have in that flash ring a radiation detector would you? It would help me out quite a bit, actually. After that I need to find out where they came from.” Green Arrow’s gaze shifted between the archers and Green Lantern as he watched them move about. Oliver took his work seriously, but keeping a light-hearted endeavor now and again wasn’t ever a bad thing or so he thought.
Kyle Rayner "It's a classic," Lantern responded, sucking loudly on the straw as a few remains of ice and juice were drawn up. Turning, he faced Arrow with a smirk as all of the constructs faded away and he lowered down onto the ground. "Oh you were? Didn't know that," he responded, feigning ignorance to the fact that he knew everything that had been shared with that dash, talented young artist, "It's not like you're Superman and showing up leads to people's cars getting thrown around at giant robots. Besides, I'm not Batman. I don't mind." In all honesty, Kyle would never turn away help. Considering the size of his area of responsibility, another set of eyes keeping LA safe was more than enough for the price. "Sure. I can whip something up. Got a specific form you're looking for or are we just shooting from the hip?"
“Not sure what specific type we’re looking for. I don’t imagine anything nuclear like uranium.” Lantern’s ring would detective the bills were irradiated with UV radiation and the ring would be able to explain prolonged exposure was unhealthy for most living creatures. This would give them a new problem - tracking down UV radiation across an entire city; tanning beds, solar panels, and light bulbs…It wasn’t the lead Green Arrow wanted - it was too vague and too many options. But there was something in their favor. “It’s a long shot, but is there a way you can track all sources of UV light in Star City - narrowing down active sources at night?” Green Arrow didn’t seem to know that UV light was always received from the sun even during the night, but he was a vigilante not an astrophysicist or ecology expert. [c]
If Green Lantern did the pre-determined changes he would be able to find two banks emitting concentrated amounts of irradiated money along with an armored vehicle that also had traces of radiation in it, there were other pockets of UV radiation but, they were smaller sections and most likely lamps and solar panels for household use. Green Arrow and Green Lantern would have another issue with this whole problem and that was to find out why? What is the point of marking the money if it’s counterfeit? Anyone with a black light could scan it and clearly figure out it was marked.
Kyle Rayner The Green Lantern crossed his arms as he thought for a minute. "Well I can but... hm. I don't think we want to worry about any natural sources since we're dealing with money." Various thoughts ran through Kyle's mind. None of them were finish as he pushed aside all manner of them that made little to no sense in regards towards their specific reason. "Well... if we're dealing with money maybe we should start with banks?" he commented to Arrow, giving a smirk, "I mean, it's worth a shot." His ring, with that, was lifted into the air as his thought was translated to it. For effect over need, a spinning radar dish formed from the ring as it began to search for any unnatural ultra violet radiation within the city, narrowed down by intensity to see if their was anything actively doing so, and then further singled out by coming from any banks, credit unions, so on and so forth... A few moments ticked by and then the dish changed to a construct of the entire city with little Cupids-c-
Kyle Rayner hovering over the two bank locations with notched arrows in their bows pointing at the locations. "Ha! Got it. Looks like it's coming from these two places here."
Arrow was watching the constructed radar go to work with its spinning dish that looked practically real aside from its green glow, Oliver could almost swear there was texture of the radar and even ‘realistically’ applied moonlighting due to the time of day. As Kyle explained narrowing down the location, the Emerald Archer couldn’t disagree and felt kind of dumb that he didn’t think of that either. When the signal narrowed their search to two banks, Green Arrow would grin and give Green Lantern and pat on the shoulder. “Let’s go.” At the first bank Green Arrow would stand on top of the roof looking down at the place, analyzing the entire situation assessing it for danger. “ a large security gate opened into the back of it where a large armored vehicle rode inside of it. “There.” Firing a zipline he swung down towards the gate and tumbled onto the ground rolling underneath the gate to follow the truck as it drove around back of the bank. [c]
The doors would open and allow four men to step out; with ease they slide a security card at the backdoor panel to gain access and began walking into the vault room where they tapped only a few buttons on the security panel to unlock it. A large steel door would open slowly revealing stacks of money irradiated. It would seem like a bank heist except the man on point dressed in a purple skin tight suit, with a purple bow and arrow wrapped around his frame held up an orange arrow. “To honor you, Sir Robin of Loxsley. To shame the rich into understanding the poor.” Green Arrow entered the bank from the rear entrance and growled. “Put down your weapons!” A voice modification would mask Oliver Queen’s voice and give off an intimidating deep tone. “ [c]
The thugs would turn their guns onto Green Arrow and begin firing micro uzi’s at him forcing the archer to jump behind a copy machine for cover. Rainbow Archer would press a button on the orange arrow and toss it onto the pile of money forcing the money to ignite into flames before arming a purple arrow from his quiver and rainbow colored arrows. “Star City’s Sheriff, I take it? Are you still alive?” The thugs would begin to spread out to corner Arrow.
Kyle Rayner For being the guy with the ring that created bright, glowing, green constructs, Kyle's entrance onto the scene was a bit more subdued than Arrow. Instead of an acrobatic entrance complete with a voice changer that could make Batman's brow... twitch?, he simply flew down. That was, until the gunfire began. Dropping down onto the ledge of the bank, his ring began to glow to work. Down in front of the gunmen, along the ledge where Ollie stood, along the bank, and around the outside edge of the loading area, constructs of Space Marines appeared. Each held up their bolters, ready to pull their triggers at Kyle's will while GL looked down over head. "Alrighty pilgrims! Drop your weapons, come quietly, and we won't have to worry about anyone getting hurt." An earpiece construct formed over his left ear with a thin mic tracing its way down to the edge of his mouth. The construct fused in with Oliver's communications system link and Kyle spoke into it, lowering the volume of his -c-
Kyle Rayner voice, "You are okay right? Don't need to call Maid Marian to patch you up?"
The thugs jumped seeing the sight of armed gunmen glowing green their gun shots began to spray into their armor causing splashes of green energy as the bullets came to a halt against their targets. Immediately the thugs took shelter to begin a gunfight with the troopers. Rainbow Archer saw Green Lantern and shouted. “Can’t you see what I am doing here? This is ART.” Green Arrow heard Kyle’s voice in his headset and seemed startled, Felicity Smoak’s voice would chime into the conversation. “How exactly did he get this frequency? Oh right! Magical ring…One ring to rule them all.” She mocked before Oliver growled “Felicity!” “Oops, sorry. And for your information, I am not Maid Marian.” Felicity made sure to respond despite how awkward she was feeling in the moment. Green Arrow would grunt as he checked himself for any bullet holes. “Lantern, I’m good. They’re burning the money…It’s not a robbery.” [c]
Rainbow Archer would fire the arrow at the space marines splashing them with sticky puddy and immediately he drew to fire a yellow arrow would explode igniting the puddy. The screech of the arrow string prompted Green Arrow to jump to his feet and fire an arrow towards Rainbow Archer, only for the criminal to swing his bow and deflect the arrow. The two archers drew their bows and held each other at a standoff. Both had green arrows drawn upon each other. Green Arrow would state forcefully. “My arrow is made of a polymer-steel compound. It will shatter anything you have in your quiver.” Rainbow Archer would tilt his head slightly. “My arrow is laced with Arizona Rattlesnake venom. You’ll be dead before you can get off another shot.” Green Arrow adjusted his grip sliding his hand lower upon the bow string to give him more accuracy than power. “Set down the weapon.” Rainbow Archer shook his head and fired the shot just before Green Arrow fired his. [c]
Their shots clashed and the two drew a second arrow to shoot at each other. Rainbow Archer began to run towards the front of the bank to escape firing orange and yellow arrows that would burst into flames(orange) and explosions (yellow) Green Arrow would grit his teeth as he flames and explosions began erupting around him. “Lantern, the whole bank is going to burn down!”
Kyle Rayner Kyle's constructs began to fire, the large round rocketing out through the air towards the criminals. Those that were struck would be lifted off of their feet from the force and the wind ejected from their lungs; however, save for some mild bruising they would otherwise be unhurt. Like they were described in the books he had read and the games he had played, the Space Marine constructs maintained their assault as Kyle heard Arrow's voice in his ear and another's. "It was a joke!" He stated, momentarily distracted in what he thought was the Justice League communication channel. Apparently, GA had a bit of a crew working with him here in the city. The putty and explosion would not normally have been enough to break his constructs but with his mind off and the yellow arrow involved, a few of them shattered which shocked his mind a bit and made him stumble. The others maintained their fire until the flames began to spread. "Um. um... fire burns... flames need a fuel and they need..
Kyle Rayner air! Arrow watch out!" Taking off into the sky, Kyle pointed his right fist towards the bank and surrounded it with a large bubble. "Ring scan for life!" The ring would scan and any living and breathing humans within would have a fire fighter construct appear in front of them, placing a gas mask construct over their face to keep them alive and able to breath while the oxygen within the bank was then siphoned out, sucking the life out of the fire before it got out of control.
