This is an address to the changes in [DCU]
Mission Statement and Vision - Was to be redefined as in previous Rules and listings we removed this altogether and it seems to have taken focus away from our purpose being here. With this re-established, everyone should take time to read it, hopefully agree with it, and proceed forward understanding why we are here.
This was based upon the original declaration of our mission back in 2012, many of our older members will recall a lot of this as our starting point for the group. The purpose is roleplay and community. We've been through a lot of rough patches together and still here we are. Everyone has a different reason for being here and not somewhere else and that reason is ultimately roleplay, lets cut through the OOC non-sense and get back to what we all enjoy.
[DCU]'s environment - To explain [DCU]'s environment to a new person is not an easy task. The balance here was trying to have definitive rules while also recognizing that there are unforeseen issues that could be a problem in the future. There's also the matter of avoiding "He said-she said" scenarios. We may expand upon this, particularly in the skype section because, as it stands, personal information isn't off limits. (Pictures, phone numbers, private information, facebook, etc) and in the past DCU members have felt comfortable with each other to share these kinds of details.
Admins & Players - Is relatively unchanged. The redefinition stating admins do not need to explain themselves to the player in question and only Batman (Bruce) can overturn their decision.
No Troll Policy - skip!
Recruitment Section - Is back and hopefully simple to follow.
[DCU] Skype - There's a history to this having its own set of rules and most players have found a lack of respect and insensitivity has taken place, therefore Skype is now subjected to Chatroom rules.
An additional factor of the "[DCU] Environment" are players who sit in skype and don't contribute anything and effectively "Spy" on conversations that could potentially involve personal interests, character profiles, or RP groups. We may need to design a system to deal with "dead weight" in the skype group.
Activity Policy - Removing the activity policy as a mandate for everyone because most players want to have fun and not feel like they're forced to keep up with RPing in DCU like it's a job. Shifting the focus from community to group based seems like a logical choice, if you're invested and interested/hungry for RPing in a DC based group RP, then it's natural that you'd agree to RP on a set schedule or some other mode of activity. E4 will adopt the new group activity policy, all other groups will have to determine their own method or choose to go with the uniform of no required activity. Multiversity will not have an activity requirement, just to make sure that's clear.
The significant part of the coordinators having power over activity is to remove dead weight from the group. The job is not easy and having dead weight players who aren't writing to support the story or choose to take up an important role and then do nothing for 2 months at a time, can't be tolerated. If you can't follow through don't sign up with that RP group.
Coordinators at this time for Earth 4
