Character Origin: (Tv shows (Young Justice) / Partial Comic)
Face Claim's Name: Alexandra Daddario
Name: Zatanna Zatara
Alias: Zatanna, Zee, Zanny.
Race: Human | Homi Magi (Best of both Worlds)
Age: 19
Birthday: May 20th
Alignment: Chaotic good - though can be typically selfish. The “ends justify the means”
Height: 5’7
Weight: 125lbs
Hair: Raven black
Eyes: Cyan Blue
Physique: Slender curved figure, blossoming into womanhood, with a delightful feminine shape and smooth contours. Defined by training, yet feminine in all ways.
Training:
Hand to hand Combat. - Although she seldom uses it, Zatanna is competent at hand to hand...it is a last resort for her, if magic does not work. She can hold her own against small groups of street thugs and the like, or extricate herself from a bad situation, but is far from an expert like Batman.
Equipment:
Magic Wand: Usually, she is often seen with a magic wand, although whether it is a prop or an actual focus for her power remains unknown. She does not need it though. Her power lies within spells spoken backwards.
Magician's hat: She can project energies/things out from her hat or even take out any equipment she needs. The hat can also be used as a portal or a dungeon to capture and trap her target in it for as long as she wants. Just like her wand, she does not need it in order to use her magical powers.
Powers / Abilities
ABILITIES: (vary in skill due to age)
-Stage magic: Zatanna is fast becoming an expertly skilled stage magician, bound to be one of the best despite her relative youth. She also knows how to look good on stage, how to move well, etc.
-Speaking backwards: Zatanna is practiced at saying things backwards (although even she can stumble over a word here and there).
-Voice projection: Speaking correctly is a skill. Both in performance and in magic, Zatanna can speak clearly enough to be understood by a small audience outside without a mike.
-Occult Knowledge: Zatanna has possession of a large occult library, and also has good knowledge off the top of her head. She can identify kinds of demons, she knows a lot about what *not* to do magically. She is quite capable of either knowing or finding out almost anything...including details about some, but not all, artifacts and individuals.
-Spanish | Italian | French: Zatanna speaks reasonably fluent Spanish, Italian and some High School French.. She is capable of getting by and having a civil conversation in the language.
-Meditation: Zatanna is skilled in various techniques of meditation and concentration. It is far from perfect, but she is better able than most people to concentrate in difficult situations. She can still have her concentration wrecked or broken by such things as physical attacks, excessive noise in her ears, or particularly bad situations. and many more skills!
POWERS: (vary in skill due to age).
Magic: Zatanna is a homo magi, a human born with the affinity to manipulate magic. Her unique genetic structure allows her to use the magic she was born with as well as learned magic. As a tribute to her father, and as a focus for her spells, she casts spells by speaking backwards or "Logomancy".
Elemental Control: she can manipulate magical elements such as: Fire, ice, Electricity, Water, Rocks, Wind, Lights and Shadows.
Many other powers (at various skill levels based on age) used via magic are as such: Telekinesis, Telepathy, Teleportation, Reality Alteration, Antipathy, Deflection, Chronokinesis, Weather Manipulation, Blasts, Energy Construct Creation, Energy Transference, Flight, Force field, Healing (herself and others), Phasing, Size Alteration, Transformation. These powers can be hindered or even rendered useless given the various weaknesses and limitations on her. (See Below).
Weaknesses
Must be able to speak clearly: If Zatanna cannot speak, clearly (backwards), she cannot cast. If she is prevented from doing so, be it by being gagged, injured, or otherwise silenced, she cannot cast. If she mispronounces a word, the spell will fail.
Concentration: In addition to being able to speak, Zee needs to be able to concentrate. She can handle most normal situations and fairly tough combats. However, more extreme things such as injury, emotional trauma or certain attacks can break her concentration..
Magical aura: Zatanna has a constantly active magical aura...she can be detected as a magic user by anyone with sensitivity to such.
Flamboyant: Zatanna tends to do everything as if she was on stage. Sometimes this means she will waste time looking good instead of being effective.
Fatigue: Zatanna has a limited amount of magical energy. Also, she has to concentrate and she has to speak. All of this means that there is a very real risk of her eventually tiring, either magically, mentally, or physically.
Father issues: First of all he didn't tell her about her magical heritage. Then he disappeared. Then he got himself killed saving her life. And his soul isn't in a good place. AND she's 'Giovanni Zatara's daughter' to a lot of people.
Confidence: Magic requires a certain amount of belief in oneself. Zee is a confident person, but if she makes mistakes, subsequent spells can be harder. She has lost confidence to the degree of losing her powers in the past.
Weirdness Magnet: One of the prices of being a magic user often seems to be...weird things happen. The strangest things happen to Zatanna, at the strangest times. Mostly they're not good.

Audition post
With her typical debonair for flair and flamboyance the female moved through the Hall of Justice adorned in her usual attire that was predominantly worn during a mission. The tuxedo was as bizarre as always yet it was fitting of her personality, along with the short shorts and bow tie which ultimately showcased her many feminine attributes including long, slender legs, curved hips and decidedly perky breasts by the way the white shirt fitted her upper torso. As with everything she put on a show even when just merely walking through the hallowed halls. Hips swaying to a beat of her own. Feminine, mysterious - enigmatic and yet sensual in her guise. Ravenous strands of glossy black fell in soft waves around her face while cyan hues peered ahead with intrigue and mild curiosity. The Hall itself seemed empty despite the numerous visitors that frequented its berth yet she moved with that confident gait and step as booted feet lined the marble floor as if an audience gazed upon her. Approaching the Elevator she came to a pause while a trickle of knowing rippled down her spine. Ultimately as one of Magic, born of Magic on her Mother’s side she had the innate ability to -sense- magic around her. Thus the female slowly angled her body while her eyes cast a sweeping gaze around the area, a finely plucked brow arched while plush lips puckered together in query. There was non she could see, but certainly it was felt. Someone, somewhere in the giant building as a magic user and it wasn’t anyone who she knew or had felt before.
“Hmmm.. This shall certainly be interesting.”
Never knowing if one would be evil or perhaps it was someone had been invited to the Hall by the Alpha Team who possessed magical prowess as she did. Though that thought did put a slight damper of the woman who at times questioned her own confidence. Inwardly however - never outwardly. As a born performer, Zee wore the mask well of someone well-adjusted, with surety and confidence, along with the lackadaisical view on life for the most part. This was all to hide the creature within who had suffered such great losses which had transformed her life over time. Many thought her flirty and impractical while yet underlying it all there was a certain emotional fragility. Her ill-fated romance with Nightwing had crumbled to a mere friendship but rather than dwell on the pain within, she was outwardly flirty and typically held her charms for handsome men and openly sought them in a manner of ways. Regardless, the woman was not going to be replaced any time soon with the League. She was, she knew among one of the best Magicians, being she was naturally born as so. So whoever this Magical Being was, was not here to take her place. It was the voice though that gave her pause.
“Zatanna..”
A beat of heart skipped while breath hitched. Turning toward the voice her vivid hues landed upon a familiar figure. Confusion though splayed over her enchanting features mixed with the look of longing. For there in the hallowed halls of Justice stood her Father. Her father as he had been years ago. Before Dr. Fate. Before his sacrifice. Several blinks as long lashes batted against smooth porcelain cheeks were soon met with a questioning tone that spoke as a mere whisper.
“Father..?”
It couldn’t be. Deep down she knew it wasn’t him and yet seeing this figure looking very much akin to a man she’d adored was discerning, if not confusing.
“It’s not you. Who are you!?”
She quipped as her gloved hands rose and the power ever dormant within, surged to life. The elder male remained as he was, standing completely still save for the angling of his head, canting as if to question her response.
“Zatanna, truly. It is me. I’ve come home.”
Her heart beat more rapidly though she could not let this.. Travesty, this.. Thing, whatever it was control her emotions. Giving in to such would cause chaos - her magic as free flowing as it was, was so readily abused if given the notion. A battle at times to keep an even balance remained within her - while powerful, there was much responsibility to keep it contained. The Hall was full of visitors, most not paying attention to the Hero nor the Old man. She could not put them in harms way. She would not.
Eyes narrowed while a slender digit tapped against her lips.
“Shall I be the first to tell you? You are not my Father. But what are you, I wonder… Hmmm…?“
She quipped while her other hand wove in a circular fashion.
“Leaver ohw slortnoc uoy “
The spell uttered backward would magically force the person to reveal their true self. However instead of the guise of her Father disappearing to give her insight as to who was playing tricks, the figure on the whole disappeared leaving only a swirling smoke in it‘s wake. It was then a ghastly voice resonated in her mind - it’s haunting laughter bringing about a shiver that trickled down her spine.
“Bingo! I’m not your Father, Zatanna but someone who is coming for you all the same. Try to find Me. I beg you to do so… Let the games being.. My dear.. “ -- the voice resonated with a mad cackle that slowly dissipated over time. “It’s your move..”
Left standing - staring at the place where the figure of man she’d loved so much had just moments ago stood it was as if she had lost her Father all over again. Though he stood now as Dr. Fate, he was as much lost to her as if dead. Gone. Out of her life in the way he had once been so involved. Years of being rebellious against him rolled inside, a heavy guilt she bore. A burden that weighed upon her shoulders that she believed would likely never fully heal. Whoever or whatever this creature had been, she would find it. And she’d not stop until she could. Vision clouded by this situation, she turned from the Elevator. Rather than go up for the brief, she exited the building, fingers curling into fists - ultimately confident she would win. Whatever this was, whatever was coming for her, she’d find a way.
