Basic Information
Player Nickname: Mike or Nick (either suffice)
Do you want other role players to give you feed back?
Yes
Why do you want to join the RP group?
I was told about this group for a year and I figured I give it a shot, I haven't done forum rping in a long time and the others I was in have...baggage. (My ex ran those sites, so yeah).
What do you expect to get out of our RP group?
Interactivity with someone else playing the characters besides me controlling them as NPCs. As well as forging new adventures and exploring new aspects of the characters that the comics don't touch upon, or delving into a side of the character is unique, but is logical to that progression. I want Nightwing's journey from Boy Wonder to man to go further, who does he become when all is said and done? Does he become a Batman-like figure? Does he become a civilian? Who will remember him when he is long and gone?
What are your expectations of us?
To help bring out sides of that character that otherwise remain hidden, we reveal different sides of ourselves with the company we keep. Through our connections and experiences characters unlock sides of themselves.

Powers / Abilities
Acrobatics – Having been raised in the circus since birth, acrobatics is as natural as breathing for Dick. His parents being Haly's Circus famous trapeze act, Dick has learned since birth of how to handle daring feats high above the ground. This makes him moving through the city of Gotham and Bludhaven come very natural to him
Investigation – While not the natural detective like his mentor or even Tim Drake, Dick has competent observation skills and is able to stand his ground alongside many of the other detective/boots on the ground-like heroes.
Martial Arts – Being trained by the Dark Knight does have it's perks, one of them is learning of various martial arts. At a young age, his Robin years, he was taught the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, to make up for his smaller size in dealing with adult criminals. Ninjitsu and judo were other forms he was taught. As he grew older and became Nightwing, he learned the Filipino fighting style of Kali as he incorporated Escrima Sticks instead of bo-staffs.
Police Academy – Some could say this skill seems unneeded due to his more advanced training, however if Dick was going to be a cop in Bludhaven and be a convincing one he would have to play the part. So he took the police academy training course.
Leadership experience – Dick has been placed into leadership position with his team, the Teen Titans. While he lacks the cold driven nature of his mentor, he is a charismatic and compassionate leader. Combined with his understanding of infiltration and battle, he has become a respected leader in his own right.
Tactics and Strategy – There was never any doubt he would never be able to match Batman in this department, but that doesn't mean he has no skill in this department. While Dick has never been the master planner that Bruce has been, his ability to learn and adapt in the field of battle has lead his team through some tough situations.
Weaknesses
Compassion – His compassion can be a strength, but it can also turn against him. He doesn't carry Batman's skepticism or his almost paranoia when it comes to people. Leading him to be fooled if he isn't careful. He desire to save people's lives can also be used by the more intelligent of villains when needing to get away.
Overdoing – Taking responsibility for a whole city, alone, isn't as easy as it thinks. Nor establishing yourself as it's protector. So Dick feels he needs to compensate for his lack of reputation by trying to establish one the same way that Bruce did. But he isn't Bruce, he lacks his drive, so he overextends himself. As he stretches himself thinner and thinner he finds things spiraling out of his control. In all his attempts to not be Bruce, he emulates him much more than he would like. However in his attempts to emulate is where he falls flat.

Robin
“Batgirl. Are you in position?”
“Check. Ready to go in.”
“Robin.”
Batman's voice crackled over the comm unit as it always have, demanding and in the moment. Which was exactly what Robin was...not doing. Observing the target building while preforming a handstand was only one hand was his current focus right now. When the exchange between Batman and Batgirl crackled on his comms he flipped upright to a crouched position, touching a finger to his ear piece.
“Ready to fly.”
He could hear Batgirl sigh in annoyance before Batman spoke, “Robin, I need you to stay focused.”
“I'm focused.” Robin assured, feeling the flush of embarrassment creep on his face. Thank god the night air was cold and the other two weren't around to see it. His pride was already bruised so far. “I'm crashing in through the side window.”
“Do not go in until I give you the signal, understood?”
Robin nodded, before realizing no one could see him nodding and speaking into his comm piece. “Got it.”
He crouched low and kept his eyes on the target building before him, waiting for the signal. Tonight's target was an alleged meet, they caught wind that there supposedly going to be a sit down between Penguin and Black Mask over control of the crime districts of Gotham. As both crime lords have been keeping out of sight for months, this could be the one night they could get the chance to capture these crime kingpins. Batman carefully set the operation up and considered all his options and points of interest before tonight's move, it was all hands on deck tonight and no one was supposed to be off duty. He couldn't screw this up, not tonight.
“Go.”
The simple, yet powerful demand for action hit through him like a bolt of adrenaline. Robin took off, extending his cape to it's paraglider form and gliding towards the side window. As he picked up speed he twisted his body into a spin and crashed through the side windows. Shards of glass spattered onto the metallic walkway as the sounds of chaos and gunfire were beginning to tear through the warehouse. The two guys on the catwalk, who were seemly deciding if they wanted to shoot Batman or Batgirl, were surprised when a more colorful target made it's entrance.
“Well, hello.” Robin smirked, before swiftly firing off two birdarangs from his hand – using the moment to burst into a forward run. The birdarangs smacked against both men's firearms, one being knocked away completely while the other lost his aim. Using this time Robin quickly sprung into action, swinging his bo-staff and striking the first thug's stomach. Sending him to his knees before a quick blow to his head to send him into unconsciousness. Keeping his momentum he leaped onto the railing of the catwalk and used it to springboard himself in the air over the second thug. Flipping through the air and landing behind him, spinning around and bringing his bo-staff to the thug's legs and swept him off the ground. As his back hit the catwalk hard Robin leapt onto the railing again and pushed himself in the air, bringing his bo-staff high and using the height, gravity of the drop, and his own strength to bring it down on his head. Sending him to join his friend into sleep.
With the thugs on the catwalk down Robin crawled onto the railing to get a birds eye view of the scene, Batman and Batgirl were mopping up the rest of thugs for the most part. From this view however he could see one of Penguin's thugs sneaking up on Batgirl, pulling a knife from his sheath with a fierce intent to kill. Eyes narrowed, a swift birdarang took flight and made it's nest on the thug's forehead. Causing Batgirl to gasp in surprise as the thug suddenly hit the ground with a sharp thud.
“I knew you had him, but I thought I'd help?” Robin quipped, unable to resist a smile to grace his face.
Nightwing
What am I even doing here?
This thought burns through his head as he moves through the rooftops of Gotham, quickly throwing out his grappel hook and swinging once it was secured. Detaching mid-flight he kicked into a backward flip and touched down upon the rooftop with little a sound. Nightwing stands up to full height, looking about the rooftop before positioning himself on it's ledge - overlooking Gotham. The sigh that moves through his parted lips is a cold one that shows up in the winter air. He didn't intend to stay in Gotham long, only stopping by to pursue a lead that connected to a case in Bludhaven. He didn't feel like calling Bruce, though he suspected he knew he was in the city, or even bothering Barbara about it. To be honest there are nights where he dreads being in Gotham, the city he felt he knew so well suddenly feels so unwelcoming.
It's like he doesn't belong here anymore.
Not dark enough to be Batman, but too jaded to be Robin. Nightwing was his own man making his own way. Perhaps it was this journey into making his own way where he realized he was on the verge with cutting ties with home. He nearly did when he became Nightwing, finally returning to Gotham in this new persona was a rough night – making nearly every rookie mistake and being reminded of it by Bruce and Babs. Being on your own was a far different beast, Dick spent too many years relying on people to watch his back – things changed. With Bludhaven under his protection Dick had to learn fast about surviving on his own, especially in a city that was far more stained with the blackness of corruption. It was do or die in Bludhaven, and Dick did not want to die.
“Hey! Be careful with that!”
Thank god, a distraction. Nightwing thought as he moved across the building towards the alley that was just behind him, peering down he could see three guys around a grey moving van. Loading in a crate in the back. A quick keen look told Nightwing that the contents were heavy and judging by the overall shiftiness of how their eyes moved said a lot. Two guys were picking up the crate while the third was on look out. He rolled a Wing-Ding between his fingers and took aim, firing at one of the guys carrying the crate and quickly flipping down. Mid-air he heard the guy yell out and the crate crash to the ground as he touched on the roof of the van.
“I doubt this shipment is legal.” Nightwing said, moving forward into a run and leaping off the van. Delivering a flying kick to the one who was guarding the two, his head hit the brick wall behind him and he groaned into unconsciousness. The other two were quickly going for their sidearms, but it was too late for them. Nightwing ran up to one and placed his foot on the guy's chest, springboarding off him and flipping the foot into his jaw. Sending the guy into the air as he flipped backwards, landing on the crate they were carrying with a crash. The second guy had pulled his side arm and let out a shot, which impacted uselessly into the ground as Nightwing moved. He ran on the side of the wall and pushing himself off it and delivered a flying punch into the second guy's head. He landed right next to his friend on the ground and the air went silent.
“Probably should have stuck to your desk jobs.” he said to no one particular.
It was only until he heard the driver's side door open that Nightwing realized he made a mistake, spinning around just in time so see the driver with a 12 gauge shotgun pointed right up to him. He had to move, he had to do something. So imagine his surprise when a batarang flew out and hit the driver's head before he could pull the trigger. He clattered to the ground and was out of commission.
“I knew you had him, but I thought I'd help.” Batgirl said with a grin, jumping from the fire escape and touching down to the ground. “I'd thank you for the assist, but you made my job a little harder.”
“I did?” Nightwing looked around, “They seem to be down and out to me.”
Batgirl frowned, “I was going to use these guys to follow them back to their supplier. I've been on them for a week and finally got wind of this shipment before...”
She didn't finish the sentence, but she didn't need to. Nightwing's mistake came dawning on him quickly, Batgirl pulled out her cuffs and began to secure the thugs.
“Thank you for your help though, you couldn't have known. Perhaps we can team up and...” as Batgirl looked around to find him she realized he wasn't there anymore, he was gone. “Nightwing...?”
Having pulled himself to the rooftops Nightwing was already on the move, throwing his grappel line out and swinging to the adjacent roof. Tucking into a roll and transitioning into a sprint as he continued to move. As if he could run from another reminder of how out of place he was now. Like the kid who goes to college out of state and comes back home to find not only everyone's changed, but everyone doesn't seem to need him anymore. As he made his way to the Gotham exit, where his car was stationed, to make his way back to Bludhaven the solemn resolution set in: his life didn't have to center around Gotham anymore. He was on is own now...
Time for the boy to be a man.
