Lucifer Morningstar Sits down at his piano and begins to play for everyone with diligent fingers tapping against the keys with every stroke bringing the song to life.
Anais ~Seemingly drifting from the woodwork Anais quietly detaches herself from her present company's squiring arm. Her promise to return comes in a silky smooth brush of petal soft fingers along the Congressman's wrist, perfect french manicure feathering against the links of his opulent gold linked timepiece. How easily she wins him with a fetching smile, mirth flaring in the brilliance of her eyes beautifully accented in subtle mauve shimmer shadow. The obvious monied male seems to resign in a casual along the bar, nursing his Martini and watching the angelic Anais drift away. Even surrounded in sin, vices and dark delights the platinum-haired beauty shines like a beacon in the transitioning shadows of the club. Heads turn and whispers are uttered, simple cyan sequined dress artfully drawing one's attentions to curves crafted by heaven itself. In a gait most graceful she'd approach the pianist to better receive the enchanting melody bellowing from the baby grand, -c-
Anais harmonious chords making her ache to hear angelic speech once again. Pausing along one side of the ivory keys she observes the player's effortlessly dancing fingers, losing herself for a moment and allowing the chords to tease her flesh like the errant hands of a lover.-e-
Lucifer knew of her presence in the bar and didn't seem to mind nor forbid it. As she approached and came to notice him, perhaps she would notice the black turtle neck he wore contrasting to the brown dress slacks and a black leather dress belt with a golden latch. His aura would have no affect on her - his charisma and aura of radiance only affected the damned and mortals, never the less she could understand the beauty that was once his former self. Now he was simply a charcoal colored scaly creature with a fitting set of gnarled horns upon his head. His current mortal appearance held those serpentine eyes with a yellow color within. A charcoal outline traced his eyes like make-up and mascara.
His blonde hair was groomed around his head with two curls, one on each side disguising his horns. He tapped away periodically switching from the new comer to the piano and the notes he was playing. "Hello Sister." His voice was suave and poised with a tint of sharpness. His expression held that spiteful narrow of his eyes, sharp features, and strong eyebrows that shaped like quill feather pens narrowing towards the bridge of his nose.
Anais She'd heard the rumors and could always sense that familiar cursed heaviness whenever having passed the building. Only recently had she formed the desire to confirm what she always felt to be true. Pressing closer to the Piano top she remains ever captivating in her presence, watchful eye painfully similar to that of the almighty. "Salutations Brother..Still captivating hearts I see." Unlike several of her more prominent siblings Haniel's words are not born from malice but instead always genuine and simply as she means. Her lovely tumble of words are gifted with a slow smile, letting her mercurial hues that smolder with slumbering power idle across Lucifer's feature. God's grace, made flesh, didn't need threats, leers or taunts, as her presence alone was a cruel torment to God's finest and formerly most favored children. "You look well...Considering..." It was upon Gabriel's request she not visit the now fallen Arch, yet with present situations looming on the horizon she could no -c-
Anais longer dismiss her curiosity. Of course, to those observing the pair, they would only witness Anais in a silent trance, passing as an admirer captive by the talented club owner's musical prowess. -e-
Lucifer held no qualm with the Silver city or its inhabitants, Uriel and Gabriel both were upset at how passive Michael was to Lucifer's coming and going the last time he was there fighting for them to secure their father's throne. Lucifer did it because survival demanded it be so, but there was a part that enjoyed spitting in the face of Gabriel by operating outside the role assigned to Lucifer. "Considering I have left Father's creation all together and now I've returned because situations demand it." Lucifer was direct and to the point, the Universe didn't revolve around Lucifer and he much preferred it that way. He wasn't afraid to push anyone aside if it furthered his own agenda.
"What can I do for you, Sister mine. The bar is open help yourself to some wine." He glanced at the woman once more before continuing to play. His words were charming and seductive, no doubt she could feel his games at play, manipulating her with every second she stood nearby.
Anais Haniel was not without her own arsenal of feminine wiles and subtle influence. It was, after all, her innate gifts that kept her a key player in the silly game on the mortal plane. She's on the move again and skirting him from behind, sailing through aether of his weavings and manipulations with the ease of a cruise liner cutting through tumultuous waters. Careful to keep her hands to herself the blonde keeps her hues trained who was now called Little Horn amongst the choir. Rounding to his other side she'd sink gently on the fringe of the seat. There are. a few moments given to pensive silence, reflecting on her words before their uttered and smiling to herself. The question finally comes, birthed with courage and sincerity, "I want to know what it was like," quiet again as the keystrokes blossom a swell of volume and magnificent key change. "When you fell." Eyes transition from the depressed ivory to Lucifer's features, glow of her radiance stunning as it burns like a star.
"You mean what it's like to sin. I find the word to be rather limited in its application." His eyes traded glances out of the side of his face as those eyes went back and forth between her and the keyboard. It wasn't the first time an angel had asked him this, Remiel often did in a way of insulting, Michael did to remind Lucifer of his decisions, and the curious asked to understand the purpose. "You know there's a line you have to cross to find out. I've found the experience is different for each individual. I've found it as an insult, I was manipulated into becoming the father of sin." Lucifer began to change the tune of the song 'I Want to Break Free.' "I would question, whether you have the commitment to our brothers and their misguided belief or if you're commitment to yourself is more important."
Lucifer stopped the song for a moment and reached to the ashtray to pick up a cigarette and begin smoking the piece before setting it down again and reaching for his martini to gulp down a portion of it. Setting the glass down he continued the cheerful beat with his fingers dancing joyfully like a choir song. Clearly he didn't care what the other angel's thought of him, he knew they were afraid of him and every attempt to stop him failed without Michael's aid.
Anais As if this game-changing news was entirely new to her her Haniel asks, brows furrowed and ample leg crossing through the scandalous thigh high slit in her dress. "Tricked? How so?" Not far down the totem of Archs sat Haniel, seemingly the first know but always questioning the translation of events. To a human, a gentle shower is refreshing and nuturing but to an ant, a catastrophic event. Everything was simply a matter of perspective and Lucifer's was equally valued. She seems less amused by his song choice but remains impassive and aloof. As he states his concerns her eyes would avert. Was that shame or was it doubt hiding behind her silvery stare? For now she denies him an answer, needing to hear his own first before entertaining such a delicate matter with a response.
"As I was leaving, I saw events of the past billion years. I saw Michael and myself arguing, fighting each other with the passion we did. I saw father taking me aside and offering me the furthest seat from him, at the time I thought it was freedom...Only to realize he was manipulating me into his plan once more. It was the last time Michael and I were together that Father spoke to us, Yahweh wanted Michael and I to rebel, and because Michael did not Father continued to test Michael's faith until he would rebel." Lucifer explained the series of events, there was more to tell as it was clear even until now Michael had not turned his back on their Father.
Kate Pierce The Lux. It was not her normal type of haunt, especially because it wasn't in the French Quarter, but she'd been once and just a few nights later, here she was again. John was busy on an errand and had left while she was sleeping. Leave a girl at home and she's bound to get bored. Besides, he knew she was a bar wanderer. And he knew she'd be back here. Intrigue had her just a little too snug not to attempt another glance at the place, and it's owner. While she wasn't filled in on hardly anything, the baseline was set. Apparently, supposedly....and with a grain or all the salt in the ocean with the idea- the owner here was the Devil. Kate had plenty of thought on that but why not visit once more if the place had such a reputation with her favorite con artist? She got past security easily and made her way to the bar, liquor, as usual, primally on her mind before anything else.
Anais Carefully she weighs his words, never entirely doubting yet never forgetting Lucifer's capacity to lie and deceive. Rising slowly as it all sets in Haniel is forced to chose her counter with care. Elegant slender digits rise to trace the equally lovely glossy black finish of the Piano's surface, uttering more firmly now, though her tone remains light and lovely, "You say Manipulate as if..."The thought is never finished, lashes fluttering and pushing her stare elsewhere while starting to explain. "Would it be strange if I said I understand?" Current events involving Haniel had taken her down a rather trecherous path, one that she been none to proud to question at every turn. Again to the passing eye it would appear Anais was simply lounging beside the piano in silence , observing Lucifer play. Time manipulation was a truly a life saver on the mortal plane.
Haniel's time manipulation would be stopped in its tracks, no pun intended, by Lucifer's command. The Lux Bar was his own domain and it operated off his will, and for Haniel to attempt doing so would provoke her brother into raising his hand at her to kill her. The observant angeles knew how discarded Lucifer was towards everyone except himself, only Mazikeen and Elaine knew of how discarded Maz was to Lucifer, the one person that Lucifer could genuinely say his heart cared about she was as easily thrown away as his enemies were. Those reptilian eyes dash to her and lock on. "A revelation, Haniel?" He was amused, though that stern and sharp expression would never reveal feeling, the only hint was numbed to her by the joyful stroke of each pale key.
"Some might find it impressive that you've come to this conclusion. Others might find it quite dangerous of you to start a new method of thinking."
Kate Pierce The glossy bottles of liquor glistened at her and she sighed, watching her reflection with a glance in the mirror behind the bar bottles. She caught the reflection of the woman at the piano watching him play, tall and beautiful. She was quite striking. Not usually Kate's type, but she could admire the figure and poise. She moved strangely, like Lucifer Morningstar did. It was something Kate hadn't yet managed to note, it was just something that stood out to her, that touched her not quite the wrong way, but enough to be different. It made her shoulders want to roll off whatever brought on the strange sensation trickling down her spine like a feather. She knew it was instinct mingled with her arcana whispering to her, she just wished they knew better and enough to give more detail as to what was off and why. Because the alternative was just to take what John had said to heart and believe it as he did, that Lucifer really was the fallen angel. But that brought too many thoughts on and
Kate Pierce she needed them to shut it, and fast. "Disaron, on the rocks, make it a double please." Once she had her drink, she downed it happily and ordered another to take slower and watch their reflections, mainly past her and at him, testing out to see if she could gleam anything else from him.
Anais Those features of her remain welcoming, smile both enticing and inviting though her being grasped neither concept. Yes, Anais was known to be a high class lady of the evening, though bodily and spiritually was still wholly in tact. Imbedded illusion was a powerful thing, yet no where near as powerful as the seed of free will. "Yes,.." she says in a manner most stoic, watching how easily Lucifer counters her magic to suit his own prideful need for control. "I suppose they would." Keeping things remarkably vague was slightly out of character for Haniel, who was obviously hiding something. Rising to the full measure of her height she feeds herself into the flow once more, drifting back to a less engaged position.
He listened to her vague responses and would seemingly think about an answer, but he already knew what he would say, he was merely timing it perfectly. He began to play a new song, one that was a bit more melodramatic and energized, no doubt similar to the up-beat song Kate Pierce had heard the last time she was here. Like "Dance with the Devil" this song held a particular note and meaning. 'Night of The Hunter' Lucifer would then ask Haniel. "What are you thinking?" His gaze turned to look at Katherine Pierce and give her an intense stare that would invigorate her sense of sexuality and attractiveness, not only was she affected by his aura, but she also saw that fearless eyes lay upon her once again. Lucifer wasn't shy about his intentions and was non-restricting of his own ambitions.
The fear of relationships or the consequences meant nothing to Lucifer and so if he wanted something he pursued it. Though as it stood now, Kate had given him everything he wanted out of her, at this time. He had exploited her sexual appetite to open discussion and then send her on an away mission to gather ingredients for his spell. Was sex off the table? Not at all, but business before pleasure.
Kate Pierce Kate's gaze was suddenly met and that familiar wave came back. It was Lucifer alright, there wasn't a doubt even though she might want one. His dark gaze was hot and cold all at once to her and she kept right back at it unflinching. She wasn't afraid of him, nor did she find the need to be shy. From what John had said, Lucifer could sense just about everything about her just by being in the same room. Good. Then he could sense her all day long if he liked. The arrangement they'd made in their first and last encounter was seemingly made in stone. He wanted a shopping list and she got two magic wishes. And he was absoutely certain those wishes could be fulfilled without much of a problem. Which was the only thing driving her. Her body and soul were enslaved to something of a dark entity much more powerful than most John had faced and certainly the worst she'd she had. She'd been sold away like meat for someone else and it had stained her terribly. She needed that gone entirely, otherwise
Kate Pierce it seemed her fate was to be serving as what was referred to her as an 'Archetype,' something that was to be honed as a weapon. An executioner at the side of some big badass named Vikirnoff. Lucifer had known of him, that much caught her attention enough. But he also seemed decently sure he could snap that bond deal made. While it would have recrussions, she didn't mind. She just wanted to belong to herself. Kate shoved off the bar and turned gracefully with intent. She closed the distance between herself and the piano, standing on the opposite side as the blond and had her eyes on Lucifer. "Do you always stare like that or are you literally just enjoying messing with me?" And really, the messing was going to demand other things to happen and John wasn't around to sate them. Random little pixie in the bathroom of the Lux it might be then.
Anais She's a heartbeat away from an answer when Lucifer's animalistic call is answered by..someone else. Kate is delivered the full measure of Haniel's gaze and yet gone is the blaze of holy light and humbling radiance. Such sights would always be reserved for those of the heavenly host, or those with the gleaming. Reserving her response for now Anais resumes a more mortal persona, letting her eyes wandering up the woman's form like some approving harlot, all lash bats and one very tempting playful smirk.
Lucifer would seem un-amused by Kate's words. "Don't flatter yourself, Pierce. We have a professional relationship." These words no doubt ribbed at Haniel at how clearly he would toy with mortals who knew nothing of Lucifer's personality. It was at this point that Lucifer would raise his hand to some of the bar inhabitants to sing. A cast of characters would begin to sing aong with the music "Honest to God, I will break your heart. Tear you to pieces and rip you apart..." His hand would make a gesture for them to silence and slowly they did as some were really enjoying the music.
Lucifer turned his gaze to regard Haniel. "You were quite vocal a moment ago, Haniel, why have you gone terse and silent?" This was a genuine question. "I wasn't finished with my story about Michael and I...Father would continue to test Michael and when Michael thought he did what was right by protecting his only daughter, Father punished him. When his soul fell into despair, where were you or the others? Michael, however undesirable my methods are, had only the treacherous brother as his support. That is when he and I saw into our father's mind and discovered the truth."
Kate Pierce Kate snorted, "You're flattering your own self, Luci." She shortened his name uncaringly. She didn't like that even John was reverent about this man, it made her annoyed and want to kick the authority pole. The woman wasn't exactly the law-breaking kind but she certainly didn't like the air 'people' put about themselves when it came to the magic world. Demons thought they were hot shit, Lucifer completely thought of himself on high. It grated her nerves. Her eyes flashed with annoyane and tinted with anger and he began to play one of her favorites and she rolled her eyes. "Relationship, we made a sort of deal IF I can get your groceries, then you'll come through, sure. Not a relationship. And not everyone in the place wants to lay you," she gave a shrug and head tilted toward the blond. "I prefer softer meat. And it's rare the Fifty Shades bit allures me." her eyes flattened. "You aren't pulling it off, sorry to say." She gave a glance at the woman and smirked.
Jesse Custer Why the hell was Jesse Custer in L.A.? Was it because the name had angels in it? No, I'm just fucked up and lost... He sighed as he pushed through the doors of a club that was a little too classy for him. But if they served whiskey, he could make it home with a few mental exercises. Once inside, he sees a couple others inside the club which he'd figure would be more busy. This ain't the kinda' place I'd be caught dead in... But of course, he was here, and more alive than he'd ever been. Well, in a sense. He was incredibly lost on his search and down at the end of the bottle. Hell, he was half drunk as he walked up to the bar and took a seat, choosing to ignore the other patrons for a moment. He wore the regular preacher's garb, with a pristine white collar shining in the low lights.
Lucifer didn't care for Kate's loyalty or not, and with the shortened nickname he didn't seem to care. "I do flatter myself, I have the ability to indulge in such things." Lucifer's gaze turned to the preacher and allowed those critical eyes to focus on the man's weaknesses, so long as the man wasn't trouble, Lucifer had no problem with the man's presence. 'Trouble' being relative to Lucifer only. He finished playing the piano and stood up making his way over to the bar where he sat down and flashed for his martini to appear in his hand so that he could sip it. Lowering it to the table he spoke to Kate. "So how goes assembling your team?"
Kate Pierce Kate lifted a brow and ordered a new drink, turning to lean on the bar and face forward over it. "My team?" she repeated. Was she a captain or something now? What the hell was he on about? He had to be making reference to her task of getting his items. Maybe he thought she was pulling some task force together to infiltrate and go retrieve what he asked for. She shook her head, it had to be what he was on about. Her eyes caught sight of a Preacher's collar and she felt shock. Kate glanced at Lucifer and back at the mirror to see the man, most certainly buzzed at the least, at the bar. Her drink arrived and she took a sip. "I don't play great with others." she said, taking another drink. "Speaking of, shouldn't you, I don't know, burst into flames or something?" she nodded a head toward the presence of the preacher. "Wouldn't that be like garlic for a vampire to you?"
Jesse Custer Jesse could barely hear the other two as he ordered a whiskey from whoever was on duty. It's just me and a good drink... That was the solace that brought him what peace life could afford him. It'd been ages since he had a purpose and his search for a lead had ended quite a few states ago. Tulip had left him, Cassidy was burned alive as far as he'd known, and now he was utterly alone, looking at the bottom of a bottle at a daily basis. If he'd gotten the glass of whisky he'd ordered, it'd be a few thrown down before he was leaning his head on the bar, muttering obscenities to himself. His goatee was grown out with a full beard at this point, and even his hair was sticking up pretty tall.
Kate wasn't the leading type, but neither was John Constantine or a laundry list of mortals who managed and lead teams all over the Earth. "Would you care for some advice?" Lucifer allowed her to consider answering his question before speaking anyway. "When climbing a steep cliff, a helping hand goes far. You never know when you'll need someone to pull you up by the boot straps." Lucifer walked over to Jesse and took a seat right next to the man. "Mind if I join you?" He didn't wait for a response, obviously. "Lucifer Morningstar. Pleasure to meet you, Jesse." Lucifer cut through the bullshit of greeting the man. "What is troubling you?" At this point, to Kate Lucifer was seeming more like a missionary or a priest than the Devil incarnate.
Jesse Custer Jesse stared at the man who felt the need to interrupt his need to drink. More so, he was more surprised at the at the fact this stranger knew his name. Though, at this point in his journey, he wasn't too surprised that someone with some kind of ethereal power knew his name. He'd been approached in numerous diners and bars by many assholes that knew his name ever since his gift had been bestowed upon him. So of course, his approach was the same as before. Instead of asking what was troubling him, he peered at Lucifer and asked, "Who just who in the fuck are you, buddy?" '
The man was inebriated, still such disrespect would only go on for so long with Lucifer's tolerance. "I'm Lucifer, if you didn't get the memo." With a moment of suspect, Lucifer anticipated that Jesse's fight or flight instinct might kick start and the man would probably splash water into Lucifer's face and scream 'The power of Christ...blah blah blah.' but given the sailor's tongue the man carried, Lucifer was prepared to be let down. "I'm willing to offer you an exchange." Jesse would find Lucifer to be quite charismatic and charming, despite that sharp face dotted with reptilian eyes and charcoal scales outlining the circles of his eyes like mascara. Owl-like defined eyebrows narrowing to a point on each side of his forehead sloping towards the bridge of his nose.
His blonde hair had two curls, one on each side of his head that would telltale the demonic horns he crowned upon his head when he wasn't disguising himself as this human-like appearance; his original appearance. He wore a black turtle neck with a contrasting pair of brown dress slacks.
