After Episode 2
-The steel floor was cold and well-polished as white florescence lights reflected from the floor creating an illuminating glow helping to light the sky blue floor and the dark gray halls of the Watchtower. Batman stood before the conference room, a round table with a flat metal surface with a white table cloth draped over it. Batman waited for the arrival of the new comer on board the Watchtower, an important factor in returning his friend; Superman, and yet there was a purpose. Someone like her wasn’t just delivered into their laps, especially from a Government facility. Batman’s back was turned from the conference room entrance as he gazed out through the window to the Watchtower; the pentagon shaped room had four windows sizing almost the entire wall. <c>
-Batman was looking down at Earth, examining the blue glow and the white imprints above the continents. A canvas of blue, brown, green, and white mashed together and spread out over the planet’s surface. Batman’s blue eyes took in the scenery as he inhaled and exhaled calmly, smoothly.- ‘In all of 6 years…6 years since I’ve taken up the cowl and pursued this course of being Batman. I’ve battled and uncovered outstanding mysteries. Solved impossible puzzles against all odds, witnessed supernatural phenomena, a man capable of bench pressing the Empire State building, maybe more than that…A Woman who is beauty in the flesh, who stands for justice. Even a telepath capable of rematerializing and shaping of solid matter contrary to everything known in human science, biology, and atomic physics. <c>
The extraordinary feature of a man capable of parting the oceans and another quite literally capable of traveling through space and time…So far, we have encountered a couple of alien species…Martians, Green Lanterns, Yellow Lanterns, and even this new species “Fizh.” I find myself wondering…if most of these are “Allies…” what out there…is not our friends...? What out there is our enemy…? Sooner or later, they will show…I know they will…’ –Batman thought to himself, building up thoughts as to this woman, why he must prepare himself to be hard on her, give her no quarter. – ‘A detective rules out no suspects or concidence. Everything happened for a reason.’
Priss: While her comfort level on the Watch Tower was small, it was still there, a view of Earth from outerspace almost made it wirth being a prisoner again. She headed towards the Conference room where she was called to be. A tight fitting baseball t-shirt covered her chest, and tighter fitting jeans. She headed there like nothing was wrong, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and Superman were all really nice, but She already knew which one wouldn’t be. She knocked on the door and she said” Batman you called for me?” She opened the door and walked on in. She hadn’t been able to get a telepathic link with anyone here yet, simply because she didn’t want to invade their privacy. She had seen what Captain Marvel really was but that was an uncontrollable power. The Truth comes to her eyes no matter how hard you try to hide it. She fixed her shirt dusting off the purple sleeves which came to her elbows.
-Batman heard her voice as the door opened, he turned his head to glance at her through the corner of his eye.-(Conroy) “Come in…Have a seat.” –Batman spoke using almost a confident voice of Bruce Wayne, chief executive of Wayne Enterprises, a firm tone that held boldness. As she entered Batman turned around to look at her, to the regular human eye his front side would appear darker as the Earth’s glow forced a shadow upon him, as a person’s eye would adjust he would appear like a typical man in a costume with black pads all over his body.- “Tell me about yourself. Who are you? What do you do?” –Batman began walking closer to her, moving around the table to sit one chair length away from her.-
Priss: She took a seat and glanced over at him, waiting for his questions. When she heard the first couple she was surprised herself. <He’s playing good cop> Priss thought to herself. She leaned back in her chair.” My name is Voodoo, I was born in New Orleans..moved to Montana when I was 5, Kidnapped when I was 7. “ She had been through this before with the Blackrazors, though the Waterboarding was kindof fun. They had no idea she could adapt to any environment. “ You know there is no one way street when it comes to knowing someone correct…when you are finished I’ll know more about you than you want me to.”
-Batman watched her and studied her expression, taking in her reactions and subtle movements. Her body language as his face remained blank with an intimidating stare, his lips sealed comfortably as she gave him a precaution.- “Who kidnapped you, Voodoo? Why did they kidnap you?” –His neck was stiff, plating and fiber laces allowed his neck to bend and shift left or right along with his head. His cape hung over his shoulders revealing a bat symbol over his chest. His ears pointed and curved on a side profile view of him. His hands folded in his lap as he gave no sign of comfort in his posture nor empathy or emotion. He was displaying discipline or perhaps professionalism.-
Priss: She shifted in her seat looking him directly in the eyes. A confident smile crossed her lips as she said” I was kidnapped by an alien species known as the Daemonites.” She shifted in her seat.” Why do you wear so much black? My first instinct would be for stealth, but I’m guessing trauma?” She stretched out.” The Daemonites are conquers they take entire Galaxies..” She leaned back getting more comfortable. Preparing for his next question..
-Batman’s eyes narrowed, studying her.- “Daemonites…?” –Batman said promptly as she spoke of the name, following she answered with an explanation that was brief.- “Who is there leader?’ –Batman ignored her question regarding his clothing and choice of color. He felt that he was in control and he was the one to ask questions about this session, not her. Though he wouldn’t say that, she would likely have to continue poking until she provoked him.-
Priss: "Right off hand, There are alot of leaders. The call them Lords, What you really want to ask..Which one is the most dangerous, Am I right? All of them bow to Helspont. He's like their version of Superman, or Jesus...but Pure Evil." She looked to him smiling" So I was right about the trauma then..The gear means you have loads of money, or funding from someone who isn't the Goverment, because We both know that you wouldn't have had to break in to the Razors Base if you had connections in the government. "
-Batman heard the name again.- “Helspont...? You were kidnapped by Helspont? He’s been to Earth before?” –Batman was suddenly alarmed.- ‘Helspont...For the past month the name Helspont had come across my path a few times…Those enemies I was thinking about earlier…might be closer than what I can imagine…Faz…you might be bringing Helspont right to us…but if he’s already been here, why did he leave and not come back? Why didn’t he just conquer us and get it over with?’ –Batman cleared his thoughts and placed his hands on the table, folding one hand over the other.- “What happened after they abducted you?”
Priss: "No I have never met Helspont, but yes from what I hear he has been to Earth before. I was kidnapped by my "father" who was a daemonite. Before we came along and I mean we as in Humans..Helspont came to Earth. Daemonites have this thing they call the Hivemind, it connects all of them, for Halfbreeds like me it's a one way street. we can hear chatter, and communicate if we wish..Trying to pick up on Helspont's thoughts is very painful to say the least...the Razor's tried once..It almost killed me. " She listened to his next question and she said" They trained me, brainwashed me, made me think I was important, they sent me to collect data on ..well you guys...I broke into the razors base I took 3 bullets to the chest, and was locked up. When I woke up 4 years later..they kept be drugged and sedated so they could study me. They interrogated me, and I saved Lincoln's life..Blonde guy with Sunglasses. So they made me part of the team. My mind fixed itself during my nap. The brainwashing I could see the truth as always again.”
-Batman was once more surprised.- “You’re one of them? What assurance do I have that you won’t help Helspont when he arrives?” –Batman’s telling sign was his last three words of his question. The post-tense in his question, Batman was either calculating a strategy already and wasn’t as stupid as he would appear. From her knowledge, she might’ve been able to predict whether or not he could stop Helspont, not alone of course but, the underlying question to wonder right now was…Could Batman and the Justice League defeat Helspont’s forces? Batman was already beginning to calculate measures preemptively to gather intelligence, clearly she was a valuable resource at this time.-
Priss: "I'm a Halfbreed. The daemonites don't want me anymore than the humans do, they both used me. I like Earth..Blue skies clear water." She relaxes a bit more." but I can tell you one thing I gather from my last attempt at reaching into Helspont's mind...He isn't worried about you, or your team. He doesn't have a reason to be. His underlings sent me to find out about you because they are worried...He isn't. The thing about a limitless army that is really frightening is that it is limitless. How many people do you see everyday. Firefighters, police. Civilians...all around good people that you know, any of them could be Daemonites or Half Breeds working for the Daemonites. by my guess atleast 400 people in your city alone are Daemonites just a rough guess though.
“How do we stop them? A weakness, there’s always a weakness. A flaw in their skin, a law or rule preventing them from hiding.” –Batman’s voice stiffened becoming a bit deeper and bolder. As if the assumption that they weren’t a threat to Helspont made Batman almost willing to play chicken on that notion.- “What type of abilities do these things have? You said telepathy…have you been reading my mind?”
Priss: "Bullet to the head works on most of them, There Lord's power ranges are almost like metahumans on Earth. I can tell you what I can do and that might help you learn what they can do." She glanced around and she said" I have to have physical contact the first time to read anyone's mind. Daemonites can hide from any form of scanner known to man. Black Razors were trying to adapt my abilities to battle these creatures and it worked against weaker Daemonites. Think Biblical posesion a demon enters a body and stays there. What if the demon wanted to blend in and could sustain itself in a body forever. That is what the Daemonites can do. I can see the daemonites hiding, and I can seperate them from their host body.."
-Batman nodded listening to her.-“You *Can*…In exchange for what?” –Batman continued to watch her, still mistrusting of her.- ‘It sounds too good to be true.’ “What if I don’t want to kill them? Is there a way we can incapacitate them? Extreme conditions; heat, cold, acid, gas? Will any of that work?” ‘She knows that the information she has given me already will require research into her. I’m not the Government and I’m not the Black Razors…If there’s a way…I. will. find it.’
Priss: "Heat doesn't work...Cold Doesn't work..Acid doesn't work..I don't know how to incapacitate them. I'm the only one that has been captured alive. Go ahead you can run blood tests or whatever you like...but I get to read your mind. So that I know I can trust you." She crossed her arms." I told you this wasn't one way...Superman is trustworthy..most people don't even think you are real..."
-Batman blankly stared at her.- “I won't let you into my mind, Voodoo. The very fact you would consider that, only gives me reason not to trust you…I am not Superman or Wonder Woman. If you don’t want to help us, I have no objections of turning you over to the Government to be their science project, again…” –Batman leaned in closer to her and growled.- “Call my bluff…” –Batman narrowed his eyes at her, his lips curled into a grin, sinister in appearance.- ‘The Government will trust her even less than we would once Helspont attacks…Will she call my bluff? Will she simply yield? Will she breakdown and cry? The latter is a long shot from happening…She’s relaxed and not intimidated.’
Priss: "I don't care about anything important to you, I just want to know if I can trust you, sadly there is only one way to know...Call your Bluff..I don't have to call your bluff...Call Superman." She smirked and she said" If you want to try to take me back to the government..go ahead they want your head on a silver platter anyway..I told you this wasn't a one way street, you expect me to help you, and you threatened me..trust isn't one way..so tough."
“You don’t have any stake in this game, Voodoo. You have *nothing* to lose. *We* have everything to lose.” –Batman stood up allowing his shadow to almost cast over her.- “Where is your mother? Your father? Sons, daughters, friends? You have *no one* and that is exactly my point. You’re asking me to sacrifice and jeopardize not just my life, but that of everyone around me. If you want trust, you’ll have to get it through the old fashion way, not my mind…” –Batman’s expression returned to a blank slate, a simple stare with blue eyes beaming at her as she seemed to shrug off his words.-
Priss: "I honestly don't care about your family, your friends..in fact humans are just as bad as Daemonites..or worse atleast Daemonites don’t lie to themselves. They hide among us but they don’t pretend to be heroes. You are wanting me to trust you, without any evidence that you won’t turn me over to the government, but you, but you don’t trust me enough to read your mind. If I wanted your secrets I could have just taken them."Her claws extend her hand changes green and she punchs through the center of the metal table."...Easily" She stands up and walks away from the room.
-Batman watched as she went to leave, an internal smirk and content that she left appearing frustrated and angry. He stepped away from his chair and began walking towards the glass window again.- ‘She’s not weak…by no stretch of the imagination. I’ll let her run to Superman and Wonder Woman…Then I’ll know more about her…I’m surprised she failed to recognize my appearance at the nightclub…Selina and I had stopped the Joker, Scarecrow, and Two-face from turning the entire place into a complete mess. Overall, only six people were killed, 20 injured…Could’ve been worse…a lot worse.’
Priss: "Asshat!" She punches the wall outside of the door. Her hand shifts back to normal the redd glow fading from her eyes. She hadn't told anyone about her empathic powers. The monster inside of her wanted to rip his throat out."Stupid human." She walked back to the room where Diana told her she could stay. PRessing the buton to lock the door.
-Batman remained in the Conference room for a few moments before walking back to the watchtowers main control room where he sat down and began monitoring the system.- ‘I won’t send her back yet. I need to speak with Superman and Wonder Woman…Helspont…It’s almost as if he was planting a seed…Building up to this confrontation. Why Earth? If they are intimidated by us, perhaps there is an advantage in our corner…Helspont would expect the least output and ability from me…I’ll need to coordinate with Flash and J’onn…I have a few ideas that might work.’
